Why would you expect people on a phone number look-up site to know?

A capital representative called me and said there might be some fraudulent activities in my card which there is. He said he is going to help me by downloading the I.D. me app and I should tell him the email code he sent me on which I did. I told him I already have the I.D. me app for my un employment benefits.
He then proceeded asking me how much money am I recieving  from my un employment benefits. I felt un comfortable telling him and I said I will just call the capital one customer service myself.
He just hang up the phone with out no good bye or thank you which I feel very suspicious because my experience with capital one representatives are never rude or disrespectful. They are professionals and highly trained customer service representatives.
So I called a capital one customer service number and asked for the immediate supervisor and I was given the email address where to report the incident.

Calling about my payment

This number is on the back of my capital one card 800-227-4825;  I called it after my computer was frozen with a trojan virus via Microsoft Security;  verified that number which is what appears as a legit. Microsoft Sec. number;  they told me to call Capital one because of a preapproved $5,000 charge that was made at 4 am ;  so when I connected to the 'customer service number, she put me thru to Fraud Dept on a secure line;   well, it turned out not to be a genuine connection and the result is a  scam that has cost me $8500 and am having no satisfaction from Capital One or their Fraud Resolution Dept....Have reported this to FTC, local police Dept, Attorney General's office and the other credit card companies I deal with after I cancelled all of my cards....It has been and continues to be a nightmare

Your post makes no sense. You called the number on the back of your card and then got put through to scammers? I don't think that's possible.

I called the 8002274825 and they wanted my CC number.  Waited and then they wanted my SS number. Obvious SCAM.
