I keep receiving the same calls at home and at work.  Not sure what they want, but I get a recording also.

I certainly don't work for them, but after a few hundred calls, I deceided to investigate the issue.

Turned out there was an unpaid medical bill for my spouse under her old name (the Doctor didn't change the name, thus the bill went unpaid).

After we reconciled the bill, I haven't had a call since.

However, if they aren't identifying themselves, I wouldn't offer any details about myself.

Sometimes they represent themselves as the Provider's name.

We know you work for them - we know by now that this is theft identity.

Google the info I left for you. Get more phone numbers, emails, ceo, cfo ETC. When you have this info post it all over the place. Many Many People will call, email them over and over running up the 800# phone bill, Filling up their email accounts etc... Fight Spam w/ Spam... IF YOU CAN GET THEIR HOME PHONE NUMBERS, ADDRESS ETC...POST THAT [***]...I ALONG WITH BOUT 40 OTHER PEOPLE CALL THEM OVER AND OVER ALL DAY LONG, LETS MAKE IT 4000 OR 40000.. :) GET THE POINT ..POST THE INFO AND LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Like I said, after I investigated the issue and cleared it up, the calls have seemingly stopped.

I certainly don't work for them. But I saw the string, and thought I'd pass along my situation, as it might help someone.

This number is calling my cell phone.  I am not retrieving messages.

Nope Slugger, I do not work for them. This company annoyed me to know end, so I had to investigate and tually cleared up the issue.  I thought my situation might help out someone else clear up there issues.

Called with automated message asking me to confirm who I was by staying online.  I hung up called back and got a human right away (clue) who proceeded to be evasive about who she was calling from and asked for my date of birth to verify that she could tell me who she was calling from.

I just received one of these calls on my home phone. Didn't catch the name of the company but recorded voice said it was a call for me. I think they said something about a debt so I selected the option to speak to a person since I am not aware of any unpaid bills but oversights do happen. I think the recording also cautioned that any information obtained would be used to collect the debt. When the person came on the phone she ask if she was speaking to me by name. I said yes. She then asked me to verify my date of birth. I said "you called me." She said she understood my reluctance to give information but that she was just doing her job and if I didn't want to give the information, she would just disconnect the call. I said, "so you don't need anything from me?" and she abrubtly hung. Feels like a scam to me. Probably better not to answer the phone at all.

This is a VALID number.  

We also received a call from this number and were very suspicious since the automated system didn't include enough to feel secure about.  Our Caller ID DID showed the same number as was noted in the leading message.  It was only the NAME of caller that said "unavailable".  This is less egregious than those calls were the Caller ID number is wrong.  This was was correct.

The company is "Receivables Outsourcing, Inc."  They collect for bills from local doctors and hospitals, mostly in the Northeast, it seems.  We called back and they did, indeed, have very specific and valid information about a recent medical incident complete with the correct date of service, hospital, and  doctor's name.  They also only asked for the minimum info re birth date and address.  Not the SSN or anything more detailed like that.

Bottom line:  They are legit but need to improve their automated system with proper Caller ID Name and should also give a little more info without violating HIIPA privacy laws.  The cryptic message is probably a result of the automation software that use a simple, minimal cookie cutter template for minimally referencing the item in question.

It's funny reading these.  If you are angry about the calls... it's probably because you are the type who lets the taxpayers pick up your slack for not paying your bills.  This is ROI, inc.. which is a collection agency for unpaid medical bills.  They have to get your DOB because it's not legal to discuss your medical bills with anyone but you.

If you really feel that a company trying to get money back that you owe them for medical care is disgusting... then I suppose that's your right. I personally think it's inappropriate to be rude to someone on the phone who you have failed to pay for services. if it was an error, just pay it.  if not, then shame on you.

I do not know why I have received this, I have no outstanding medical bills. I have health insurance, clerical error maybe?
