Says they are Wells Fargo. I called Wells Fargo and they said the phone number is not thiers. This is the return phone number they wanted us to call back.

BE CAREFUL!!!!  If you call the 800 number, the automated system answers as if they're wells Fargo and then asks you for your account number!!  Don't enter it!

I work for Wells Fargo and this department! It's the Personal Lines and Loans Collections department! We don't leave messages to enable us to make multiple collection attempts!

This is a valid Wells Fargo Bank number handle your business and return the call it is NOT I repeat NOT a hoax or a telemarketer.

Sorry you are ignorant.  Our business has been receiving calls from 1-800-241-0028 (Caller I.D. indicates it's out of Calif.).  They state that they are calling from Wells Fargo.  They continually ask for a former employee of ours.  I continually tell the variety of callers that "He no longer works here.  Don't call again."  Each time they respond with, "I will make a note of that."  Where....? On a Post-It near the trash can? Since you work for Wells Fargo, I'd be interested in just how it is that 5-6 different callers can't "make this note" in ONE file.  Perhaps they are not with Wells Fargo...

800-241-0028 is absolutely is a Wells Fargo number - I just spoke with them and it is NOT a phishing scam.  

The irony is that i don't even have an account with them, so i spent 20 mins on the phone w/ Wells insuring no ID theft was happening...but for what it's worth, it's def a Wells number....although i would always rather call the general number off a card or the website.

Received three calls form this number...saying it was from Wells Fargo Personal Credit Management.  When I called Wells Fargo security and fraud line, was told they weren't interested in phone phishing.  I just wonder how they got any of my account information unless it was compromised from Wells in the first place....

This is NOT NOT NOT a Wells Fargo phone number.  I called Wells Fargo fraud prevention and they verified that it is a scam.  Another tip-off is the caller ID name, which is generally the name of a LEGIT business when they call.  It's gibberish numbers, similar to a phone number (XXX-XXXXXX format), but with extra characters.  This is classic caller ID spoofing.  Have you ever heard of a phone number with a three digit prefix followed by six digits?  I called them and asked them for a call back number and guess what?  When I provided another callback number given to me by the phonies, the REAL Wells Fargo fraud prevention department assured me it also was not a Wells Fargo number.  Gotta hand it to them though, they are pretty good at faking it.  They even have Wells Fargo ads playing on their hold music.  These people posting and saying this number is legit and that they are Wells Fargo employees are lying.  If you think this is really a Wells Fargo number, then I have some ocean-front property in Kansas to sell you.

You know its WellsFargo calling because you have bills you havent paid.. stop being an idiot.... this is why the economy has failed because of people like you.. borrow money then dont pay it back and then blame the banks.

If this is a Wells Fargo number then why when we go to the bank they can find no past due amounts?  Rodney is constantly calling and saying he is collecting a past due bill, then wants us to give him a credit card number to pay the bill.  sounds like Wells Fargo has had thier lines and thier account information compramised and no one gives a S**T

Wells Fargo is indeed tied to this number. It is thier PersonalCredit Management Processing and it is headed by James Holloway, Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo Personal Credit Management.  His people are not friendly, will not let you talk and will call three times in four hours to harass you.  My wife made a mistake and paid the wrong account. She is taking care of it as a branch bank face to face but that doesn't stop the robophone calls.   I have contacted the state attorney general and the FTC about the harassment.  One call a day should be sufficient after you talk to them.  The crazy thing is I have a letter from Mr. Holloway saying we have until the 28th of December to solve the problem so why the phone calls now?

I've tried to correspond with Jimmy via the following means:  twenty plus certified mails, half dozen signed notarized visits to Wells Branches, and countless faxes.  This guy is a complete [***].  Lets band together and take to sixty minutes.  He needs to go down (professionally).  I [***] hate this person, and this bank.

This is not Wells Fargo.  It's a company that is getting paid to get your phone number.  I know all my accounts are in good standing at Wells Fargo, so I called back.  When I refused to give them any account information, and told them I would get in touch with my personal banker, they verified the number I was calling from.  Ten minutes later, a hospital I'm disputing a claim from with the fraud department of my insurance company called me on that number, which they didn't have previously.

I have never called a "legitimate" bank/creditor customer service department and not been given an option to talk to a representive directly because I don't have the account number handy.  You can't get past the recording without entering an account number (red flag...low budget).  I don't have an account with Wells Fargo!
