It IS Well's Fargo. I called the number, entered in a bogus account number and bogus 4 digit social security number. I told the guy that it has showed up on the Caller ID of our main business line every hour for 3 days. He asked me my number. I gave him our 800# first. That didn't show anything. Then I gave him our local number. He found it in their database and removed it from the call list. I didn't ask which department he was with. I'm just glad he 'says' he removed it from the list. One of our employees must have put it as their contact phone number.

Fraud by mail saying we owe money when we don't

This phone numbe has been calling my parent's house and harassing them non-stop claiming to be Wells Fargo and saying they need to reach me to get some "Personal Information" and will only leave this phone number to call back.  They will not leave a name or any other information.  I called Wells Fargo and spoke with a personal banker, who assured me that all of my accounts are fine and there is no one trying to get a hold of me.   They even confirmed that they DO NOT EVEN HAVE my parent's phone number anywhere in my account records.     The person claiming to be a Wells Fargo employee above is probably someone who works for this company that is trying to get people's account numbers to steal their money and identities.   If anyone has a way of tracking the person who is posting that 800-241-0028 is a legitimate phone number you should report them to the FBI immediately.      

If you still have any doubt, you do not have to believe anything I say.  Just call a personal banker using the phone number on the back of your debit card and confirm with them that there are no problems with your account.

Yes, it's legit.  I got a call from this number this morning and ignored it, and went online to see who it's from, as I often do when I get anonymous or harassing calls.  Saw a LOT of comments about it being from Wells Fargo, and I do bank there.  They called again within 30 minutes and I answered.  It's legit.  One of my accounts had inadvertently fallen delinquent and I took care of it.

Interestingly enough, I got a call from this number, and looked it up.

As I was reading all the info on this page, the phone rang again, but this time the caller ID said "Wells Fargo Adv" and it was actually my stock adviser.

Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

This is NOT a Wells Fargo number!  I called the number on the back of my card and spoke with a member who cross-referenced it with ALL of their departments and came up with nothing.  This is an obvious attempt to collect personal account information, and any posts on this page that say it is a valid Wells Fargo number are probably working with the individuals trying to steal your information.

I didn't answer any of the calls because I don't answer unknown numbers, but when I got on here to check it out and saw a debate over whether it was Wells Fargo or not, I realized that I forgot to pay my car payment this month! So I can't verify that it is legit because I never actually spoke to anyone, but I did have a late bill with Wells Fargo, so I'd be willing to bet that it is a legitimate number.

Side note: They never leave a message. My bill was 6 days late. I don't see the harm in a message saying, "Hey, by the way, your bill is late..." They could have saved themselves a bunch of phone calls.

Does Wells Fargo leave caller ID of   "Long Distance" 1-800241-0028 and then leave no message?

I don't know but it sounds fishy to me.

Got several calls last week. Showed up as unknown on our landline. I called 800 241 0028 and got a recording stating that it was Wells Fargo debt collection. I called the Wells Fargo here locally since we bank with them and found that we were overdrawn. I told my husband about the calls and we got the issue with our account taken care of. We have not gotten any more calls from them.

If you believe the call may be from Wells Fargo, please call 800-869-3557 to inquire about it.

Stupid travelers.

This might be from wellsfargo but in todays age why wouldnt they have the information when calling.  I always tell them that I will call back and go from there, its still a waste of time on their part because I call back and get someone else, Im not as stupid as to give any information out over the phone, their stupid and it really shows why they need to charge for every little thing.      

Considering I do not have any accounts with Wells Fargo, or any delinquent bills/credit accounts, I suspect this is fishy. If this was actually a Wells Fargo rep, why not leave a voicemail after calling twice?

The post above  points out that these [***] add  2 extra numbers. It reads 118002410028. I call number, no answer, no ring, just click then dial tone.

I called this number in hopes to talk to WF checking account customer service.  They sound like they are creditors.  Now...They call me and never leave a message!  uggh!

Its funny how many of you have accounts that are past due yet you worry about a number calling you maybe if you answer you would know who it is and what they want....that is a valid # for wells Fargo for anyone that has a personal loan or line of credit that is past due and in collections...you all sound very immature and childish...
