- A single mother of twoThey charge me 31.65 for a call. What is a parent to do when the child needs to call collect? Not everyone can afford a cell phone. I call the company and they said they will give me 20% which is $6. They told me they should have asked how much the call will cost before placing the call. What these people are doing is wrong. I could feed my child and put gas in my car to get to work. Remember who ever the CEO is of the company should be reminded that the Lord give it and he will take it away. So if he prayed to be a successful business man. The lord answered his prays and he got greedy and he will be judged
- reenwhen checking my credit card account i noticed a charge from cti in the amount of $51 bucks and some change. Don't know where the charge came from, and when I contacted customer service, they could not find any reason my account should or would have been charged. So now what?

- Refund Solution~ Persistance & Patience replies to meI dialed 1-800-672-9080 and asked for customer service. Initially I talked to a rep, who tried to make me sound like I was being pushy. (keep your head)I was very patient with her and pointed out the fact that she needed to slow down and be patient with ME. She said exactly what I would have expected her to say, that there was nothing she could do. (try to sound like you know what your doing)I said I would be forced to contact the FCC, attourney general and the better business bureu and file complaints, I then asked for a supervisor. The rep said I would have to leave a message for the supervisor because I would tie up the line by being on hold. (Persistance)I said "I'm sorry, will tying up your line cost you money?! I'll stay on hold." at which point she put me on hold for all of three seconds before transferring me to a director operations. (take down thier names!)I informed the director that there was no disclosure whatsoever of taxes, tarrifs or additional fees for using a credit card. Nothing stated on the phone or by the operator. (be realistic)I stated I was aware of the increase of rates but the amount billed, for a three minute local call, was not reasonable by any stretch of the imagination! The supervisor stated that I must be disclosed of all charges by Washington state law and the recording was found where the operator didn't disclose additional fees so I would be refunded the full amount in the next 24-48hrs. If not I could call back and speek with her again. (thank them BY NAME) We'll see...
- kaeSame deal here. Our brat was out of cell phone range and wanted us to know things were ok. The collect call lasted ~3 minutes (~$33). When I tried calling CTI, I got the, "You're number 4 in line. Wait time is ~14 minutes." 10 minutes later, I was still #4 @ 14 minutes. Ok, you burned us. Congratulations.
I'm advising our financial inst. to keep an eye out for these pikers and to advise us if they attempt to bill us again. Failing that, we'll break out the lawyers and just get another card #. For what it's worth...- Caller: CTI PHONE CALL

- Mate| 1 replyPlaced a long distance call from one state to another for like 7 minutes. I got charged approximately $31.
This was automated so i was never told how much i would be paying for the call.
Called the company that owns the payphone and they said CTI charges that much because of the different fees they have to pay to make my long distance call possible. He said nothing could be done and it was legitimate.
I'm disputing through my bank but even they said that its pricey and i will likely not get any money back.
This is just wrong but its a business and thats what happens to poor people like myself.
This was my fault. I should have not used my card to place a call.- Caller: CTI Collect Call

- kevinBHappened to me also. From a payphone in San Francisco (24th & Castro). On my credit card: $18.26 for a local call, less than a minute. No disclosure on the phone or during the call for that kind of cost.

If you file, consider stressing that the cost is excessive and undisclosed. - GBThis company is the worst collect call company that exists. When I received an emergency call from a friend via pay phone, the automated system never told me the company's full name or contact information. It also never gave me any indication of potential charges. I had to accept the calls from my friend because it was an emergency.
I couldn't find the company on the internet because all I had was initials. The only way I was able to contact them was by getting their number from my bank after the charge went through. Of course, when I had the opportunity to call, I reached the recording that said they only accepted calls before 5:00 pm on weekdays. Real businesses offer real customer service. With the amount of money CTI is making off of phone calls, they could afford to have someone handling customer service calls in the evenings and on weekends - if they really wanted to do so. Apparently, customers are not their number one priority.
Places like this only continue to thrive because they provide a necessary service that we can't afford to boycott. CTI is unprofessional and an embarassment to its industry. If anyone in higher management had any business ethics, they would read and listen to the complaints being given and do a thorough overhaul of their system.- Caller: 800-241-3965

- soy_peaceI went to Buffalo Bills this week end I made a call to locate my boyfriend. I made one call which didn't go through. I attempted to make another call it went to voicemail... I then tried again it finally went through; I talked about 2 mins at the very most... On Monday morning I noticed one charge in the amount of $ 20.00 and a second charge of 40.88 for making these calls. On my first attempt I spoke with someone by the name of Ashley she said she would have her supervisor call me. The next day Erick the supervisor called me. He negotiated with me and agreed to issue me 60% of the credits. I'm not denying the fact that I used their services, but some of these charges are ridiculous... I recommend speaking to them in a calm collected manner. The best way of getting these charges reversed if it's your courteous rather than screaming and yelling. After all these people are only doing their job. Good luck.

I made two 3-minute local phone calls on at the Rio hotel at Las Vegas. The phone booth says $0.75 per local call. I ended up being charged $35.50 on my credit card. I called the customer service people and they are rude and they refused to change the charge. - JustinNow I'm gonna file a complaint to FCC as well.
It's our responsibilities to keep companies honest in this country. - Justin| 1 replyDont let dishonest companies push us around like this. I know $35.5 is a small amount that a lot of people wont complain about. I'm not interested to getting the refund but I am more interested to keeping fraudulent companies from taking around of us.
here is the report i filed to FCC:
I made two local calls at a phone booth at Rio Hotel at Las Vegas. The phone booth says the price is $0.75 per call. I inserted my credit card and was automatically directed to an operator, who connected the calls to my destinations: Venetian hotel, Bellagio Hotel. The total price according to the price tag on the phone booth is $1.50. I received a credit charge of $35.50 instead. I called about the mistake they made and they said they can do nothing to change the charge. They said $0.75 per call applies only if you pay with coins. But I was never informed of the different price with credit card. This is a fraudulent practice to charge $35.50 on my credit card without my prior consent. Please investigate and I hope such dishonest company cannot operate in US anymore. I did a search online and lots of customers seem to have been cheated by this company.
https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-241-3965/ - JustinNow I'm gonna write to RIO hotel to stop using service from this dishonest company. I'm a poker player myself I have paid tremendous money playing in the world series of poker and their hotel fees every year. I think RIO will listen to customers like us.
