- Caller: Ethan
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BILLAbsolutely a scam Ethan is always a pre-recorded message, when you call they identify themselves indicating that the Department of Education has recently changed blah blah blah oh, but when pushed they do not say that they are from the Department of Education, they don't know who I am oh, they're Auto dialing and spamming your voice mailbox with messages from Ethan who wants to pay off your student loan. However it is phishing stunt. They want your personal information and have every intent of taking your money out of your checking and savings. I feel sorry for the people that gets sucked in by these creeps. Every time they call the phone number is from a different area code so they are spoofing numbers.

- AshleyI also received a voicemail from this very number yesterday. How do they find out this information? Or do they randomly pick a number and call it? I've read on here that half the people who reported the scam don't even have student loans...?
- Caller: Ethan from Student Services
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- EveI also got this voicemail from "Ethan" like the others. Again referring to student loans. Suspicious. Especially most since the real woulda would just send an email or mail.

- WendyEthan called me as well. I called back but they did not answer. I called my loan service provider and I asked them about it feeling this was a scam. They said there is no forgiveness due to Covid and it was a scam. The only thing is payment forbearance until September. This is what I figured and why I called my loan service provider.
- JimCall from Ethan about my outstanding student loans. They were paid off in 1993. The call came from a spoofed number that my Android phone did not even register but they were able to leave the voicemail. Almost certainly a phishing scam.

- SarahI have also received multiple calls from "Ethan." There is a Student Services Dept. with the US Board of Education but the number Ethan has left is not associated with the organization. Do not give Ethan your information.
- LBI've received the same call from Ethan and saying he is from "eStudent Services" regarding my student loan and the COVID relief package. I am a co-signer for my child's student loan but I'm fully up to date with them.

- Loanless“Hi this is Ethan with the student services department I'm following up in regards to your outstanding federal student loans we've been trying to reach you because you're eligible for federal student loan forgiveness due to the changes made in 2021 it's imperative that I speak with you as soon as possible since the COVID-19 payment delay is about the end to discuss your options please give me a call back at 1-800-249-7097 I look forward to speaking with you have a great day…” I’ve never had a student loan and this is especially predatory and disgusting trying to use the pandemic for credibility.
