- swSame Msg from Ethan re student loan debt, which I don't have. The call itself only rings for a second, then goes to VM. All numbers are from different area codes, and the number from the call doesn't even match the number from the voice mail. I called the 800-249-7097 number that was left on the voicemail, and it gave me the option to remove myself from the call list, I'll wait to see if it works.....It makes me angry that they are trying to steal money from unsuspecting folks who will give them personal info!

- DDS"Hi, this is Ethan with the student services department. I'm following up in regards to your outstanding federal student loans. We've been trying to reach you because you're eligible for federal student loan forgiveness due to the changes made in 2021..."
"Student services department" is tellingly vague.
Also, we have no students currently in our household, and have never had student loans.- Caller: "Student Services Department"

- Oliver ShagnastyA legitimate debt relief caller would be telling you who they were leaving the message for. Ie… “This is Bob from so and so company trying to reach BoBo about an offer.”It is illegal for a call center to give out or request ANY information without VERIFYING whom they are speaking with. THIS is a scam even if you have student loans or someone took out student loans under your name.

- Millie replies to KimmI totally agree with you. I was actually thinking the same thing. Not only would it show up in the payment portal, but they would've more than likely attempted to contact me via email about it already.

- KristieSame as other’s reported- Ethan calling about repayment of a student loan, which I don’t have. Calls every day- somehow gets through multiple spam blockers. Most recent # was (636) 205-9872 - but I’m sure they’re all spoofed. Call back # is same as other’s reported- 1-800–249-7097. Idiots!

- Jennifer Lopezsame number 1-800–249-7097, Ethan left a VM, about COVID19 student loan relief, also assumed that I had student loan. I called back, asked for Ethan, the guy said "Ethan's busy...is your student loan over 10k"
Me: I don't know.
Asian accent (I think) Guy: Ok, when you find out you call back (immediately hung up).
I called back again:
Latino accent (I think) lady: Is your student loan over 10k?
Me: What company is this?
Lady: is your student loan over 10k?
Me: First tell me what org this is?
(Immediately hung up)
I wonder what would happen if I played along...- Caller: Ethan

- Tamira replies to DeeYep had him call me yesterday and just a few minutes ago. He left messages both times. These folks will try to scam under anything....smh. I knew it was a scam the moment he said he said I'm trying to help you with student loan forgiveness...I'm already enrolled in that program.
- LeeI got several calls from a guy by the name of Ethan who claims he can help me with student loans under some

- NiThis is obviously a scam and I just wanted to share that I called them back and they asked me if my loans were over 10k, if they were UTD or behind on payments, and if I was on inc based or standard repayment; I answered Yes, they're UTD, and on standard repayment and the person immediately hung up on me and now every time I try to call them back the number says the number has been disconnected and then hangs up so I guess they've blocked me? xD I wanted to troll them some more ah well.

- RJ replies to Daniel"Ethan" just called me too. As did "Daniel", a couple of hours later. Like you, I have no student loans. If I did call, it would be to tell them in no uncertain terms not to make the mistake of calling my number again.
- RJ replies to AidenYup, just got the same voice mail from the same "Ethan." I have no student loans. Maybe he's the same guy trying to reach me about my car warranty expiring (I don't have a car), my Amazon account being charged $700 (nope, also not legit), my "Apple Devices" being in trouble (really? What's my iPod done now?"), etc.
