They have been calling my number for two months for this women. I have had this number for 7 years and tell him noone here remove the number from your dialer. They say yes then the next day they call again.  I was complete piss , when he called and told him what company he hung up. So after I called the Unlaw call center. They told me let the machine get it, things like that don't happen. So what I did the next day they called I pretend to be her, to find out the company and his name at least.  We promised to remove it yeah right the following business day again. Now i am reporting them.  I called then back an agent said it will be removed will see.

This MCM company calling me for monthes and asking for some one who is not living here. There number allways shows Unavailable so to day I asked the caller and he identified him self. I did file a complaint to the FTC.gov and waiting to see if they will call again

I got a call from Midland Credit Management. A lady with a heavy Indian accent, who apparently new me by name, claimed that I owe over $300 to a company (whom she did not name) from 1999. That's odd as I immigrated in the US in 2000. I am surprised to see that, according to other comments, MCM is a traditional collection agency (whatever bad it means). They look like simple scamsters to me.

How do you make them stop calling???

Take a few moments(actually, a couple of hours, and obtain a complaint form from your state's attorney general(consumer fraud division) office.

Also, contact your local consumer reporter with the local newspaper, local TV station and Federal Trade Commission.  

Keep track of dates and times when they call.

Most importantly, do NOT take ANY of their rudeness and crap!!!!!!!!
Simply hang up the phone.  If and when they call back, just start touching the keys on your phone.  The noise on the other end of the line is Annoying as all hell...LOL.   They DESERVE it!!!!!

I have been getting calls such as these for weeks also.  I contacted the number listed in this forum 800-265-8825.  When I reached an agent I immediately asked for her ext. (Laurie 23020).  When I advised, I have been advising callers they are calling the wrong number and getting hung up on stating they will call back for the person they are looking for later, she found that there were several accts and removed my number from all of them.  She stated it looks like the issue is there were three accts and callers had only figured out that the number on two were wrong.  I would recommend giving her or the company a call to check your number to verify there aren't multiple accts listing the wrong number.  She works in the Phoenix office and sounds like she gets calls like this all the time and maybe if we get the same person involved in all of our issues something more will be done.

My parents called me and told me that they had called them.  
I have not lived at home for 30++++ years.  

until this time, i did not the purpose.  now, thanks to this service 800 notes. you are right they are *##! people.

Midland Capital Management is a collection agency and they buy bad debt and then collect on it.  What does that mean?  They purchase debt at pennies on the dollar and make their money harrassing people forever until they collect something.

How do they find your number?  They use databases (to perform "skip tracing")like Intelius, credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Trans-Union..) and also do internet search of site like Classmates.com, Myspace, Facebook, Zabasearch, Pipl. Isearch, County Records, LinkedIn, and others.  They will call your family (frequently found on Intelius - for free), friends, neighbors and employers.

They will stop any nothing.  They don;t care about you or your family.  They don;t care about your sleep, your job, whether you are being honest.  They are just going to harrass you until you pay.

Some people even pay when they really don;t owe just to get them to stop calling them or family members.

My caller ID is full of telephone calls from this number over the long holiday weekend.  ID says unknown number.  My fax line has a distinctive ring so this morning I answered and waited for a voice to come on the line.  I said I was the person they were asking for (deadbeat who previously had the number 2 years ago) and asked if I could have their name and phone number so I could call them back.  She said she was Shelly extension 43593 at Midland Credit Management and that she wanted to talk about the money I owed on a Sears credit card.  Get this, Shelly became irate when I told her that I was not the person she was calling about and I had tricked her into giving me their company name and number!

If they are calling you about someone else or someone else's debt, first put your phone number on the Federal do Not call list (just google it and you'll see how).

Then when they call ask for the name of the person you are talking to.  Note the date and time, and then tell them (calmly) that they are calling the wrong number, that you number is on the Federal Do Not Call List, that you want them to add your number to their internal Do Not Call List and that if they call you again you will report them to the FCC.  They can be fined up to $10,000 for violating the FCC Do Not Call regulations.

You can say this calmly - just the fact that you know the Do Not Call rules and that they are violating them will get their attention.

This worked for me, so far they haven't called back.

These people are so rude.  Calls my cell everyday for someone else...caller id unknown.  I have asked repeatedly for them to take my # off their list.  I finally got this 800 out of a woman today.  Only after I said I want that info. so my attorney could contact them.  and after 15 min. of her insisting she could not give me her co name, address or phone #.

Keeps calling me trying to collect for my Verizon account I didn't pay over 5 year ago.

they called my mother who is 83 and said she owed them $2000-she does not owe them...we don't have any idea who they are..when i called back and told them to stop bothering my mother...very rude and hung up..left message on the ext (#43630-kathy harris) and informed them i was reporting them to the local sheriff!
they have already scammed my mother for $1000 which we had to cancel her credit card to stop them from putting bogus charges thru

They called my parents just a couple of hours ago and told them that I owed several thousand dollars, and were harrassing them for it.  It must be a scam, as I haven't listed my them as my permanent address for 7 or 8 years.  They left an extension (ext. 52478), which I haven't tried because I don't want them to get my phone number, as well.

they called me on monday october 12 2009 and asked for my brother. "ian" left the 800-265-8825 ext 43543 for my bro to call.  wouldnt give them my bros number but i called him and he doesnt know why they called me since he didnt even have my home number until today!

I kept receiving calls at all times of day and night... often early on weekend mornings or after 9pm on weeknights.  I let the machine get it but never left a message.   I finally answered the other night and the person hung up on me before i could understand what he was looking for.  They called back again tonight.  I was able to get their agency name.  I told the man (calmly) that I was not the person they were asking for and to please remove me from their call list.  I have already reported them to the do not call registry and FTC and did a follow up report with a link to this website.

I receive a call from this number. It was a guy with a heavy actsent that said his name is jack smith.  He then ask my to verify myself and if the last four of my SSN was ####.  I ask him how did he get my work number as it is not a publish number and I am not the person that he was looking for.  He told me that I was lying and i am the person he was looking and then gave me all of someone else's business.  Something needs to done about this company.

I have told them numerous times we don't know who this is and to please remove my number. The tell me each time they have but it happens over and over again. I will be filing a complaint with someone soon if I get one more call. They called 3 times today alone.

Got a call from Ray Spencer from MCM, and he said he was trying to collect on a debt for one of my family members.  They do not live with me, and I told him that repeatedly. Also he would not tell me how he got my phone number. I repeatedly told him (and other callers from MCM)that this person did not live with me.  They would not give me any other information, and they would not give me their address.  Ray Spencer was the only person that would give me his name, and phone number.  When I called him back to complain he told me that he removed my number, but I continue to received numerous calls a day from other people at this company.  They call early, late, on the weekends, and refuse to give their names.  After reading it here I plan to send a cease & desist letter.
