- DAVID| 9 repliesCalls and says they are from First Bank and they've detected some fraud alert and then tells you to call back using 1-800-288-4206. It will then ask you for personal information...DO NOT PROVIDE!!!
I provided my home phone # for verification and then it started asking me for more personal information so I grew suspicious and hung up. Now it is calling me at my house phone # because I gave it to them...SCAM SCAM SCAM- Caller: FIRST BANK
- FNBO CC HOLDER| 3 repliesLEGIT...got the # in an fnbo email suspecting fraud; googled it, came here, and after reading the post above from DAVID I called it and questioned them first ; they said that if you're in doubt, call the # on the back of your CC to be safe. It reaches the same fraud dept (if your acct has really been flagged, as mine had). BE SAFE, CALL THE # ON THE BACK OF YOUR CC.
- Caller: FNBO BANK
- DwightFirst Bank called concerning fraud alert and wanted personal information at 0943 CDT July 7,2012
- Caller: First Bank
- kim| 1 replyThis is legit - just call the 800# on the back of your card instead of the number left on your voice mail. July 11 2012.
- Caller: First Bank of Omaha
- SpikeyJust received a call from this #, but when answered did not get any message or personal contact. Called the number on the back of my C/C and verified the call as a Fraud Alert on my VISA card from First National of Omaha. I'm thankful that these companies are paying closer attention to charges that are "out of character" for the account and verifying with the cardholder! When in doubt, call the number provided on your card and verify the nature of the call. It could save you some unauthorized charge or prevent delay of a legitimate purchase you made. Thank you First National of Omaha!!
- Caller: First national of Omaha
- Bearskepr| 1 replyFRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!!!
- Caller: First Bank
- KateI just received a call from First Bank Fraud Prevention Program, but I DO NOT have an account with them. It is highly likely that it is a scam to steal your identity.
- Caller: First Bank
- MickIt turned out be a legitimate call from First Bank. My credit card had been actually blocked by their Fraud Prevention Program. You should check you credit card status.
- Caller: First Bank
- TBoneLegit, First National Bank handles many CC's like my NRA card. Got a call, called back just giving them my name and zip, they gave me the information and could see other purchases that I had made. The one they questioned was not my purchase, so they shut down the card.
Hope this is helpful, I felt the same way because I thought I did not have any accounts with FNB.
So Kudo's to them for having my back.- Caller: First Nation Bank
- RobGot this phone number in a fraud alert email.
I called the number on the back of my CC and the fraud alert is real.
There were two fraudulent purchases on my CC.
So, I can only assume the phone number is real. - JoanI got a call from this number. The automated system said they were Bank of America fraud prevention. They asked for personal information. I called the number on the back of my card and they said they did not call.
- Caller: Bank of America fraud prevention
- BillTHIS IS A LEGIT CALL
I got a call from this number and ignored it. They left a voicemail telling me they were from First Bank and that there was a fraudulent charge on my card. I called the number from the back of my card instead of the one they provided and I was redirected to the fraud department automatically. Seems as though there in fact was a fraudulent charge.
THIS IS A LEGIT CALL- Caller: First Bank
- SherryI got the same email and phone call from First Bank. So I called the number on the back of my card instead of the 800 number left in my messages. Turned out they were calling to verify a large purchase I had just made online. They had put a temporary hold on my account until talking to me. What a marvelous service this company is providing all of us!! But, from working at a bank, I can tell you always call a legit number instead of the one provided..just to be on the safe side. We see "way" too much fraud out there!!
- Caller: First Bank
- Keith| 1 replyI got an Email saying there were fraudulent charges made on my card. Well, the Zip code was wrong to the downtown office and I don't think they would send out an Email showing the formatting. The number they want me to call is not the same number on the back of my card.
- Keith replies to KeithThe Email looked out of place because it was text message showing the HTML editing. The number is for First National Bank Fraud Department. I recognize the person doing the voice over and that is a legit person that First National Bank uses.
- ChipThis was Legit. Called me because i had back to back purchases from the same store. They had a hold on my card until I called back. I did call back using the number on the back of my card just to be sure though.
- Caller: first national bank
- Johnny AppleseedThis was indeed a legit call, got a message on my home machine, they also called my cellphone & sent me an email. It ended up being a false alert, but I'm still glad that 1st National Bank's fraud department is so strict.
- Caller: First National Bank
- Call type: Text message
- Allen replies to DAVID| 1 replyIt's a legit phone number. I called the number on the card, and it linked in to the fraud department, and they confirmed that was one of their phone numbers; specifically to the fraud dept.
- LeeryBased on the responses left here, I too called the number on the back of my card instead of the number on the email. It was indeed LEGIT. I had a hold on my card based on a fradualent charge the detected. My card was closed. I would definitely call if you get this message. Just call the number on the back of your card to be sure!
- Caller: First Bank of Omaha
- Ed| 1 replyIt's legit I called the number on my card they discovered a fraudulent charge from Australia ...that's why I only cc online your protected.
