I agree with "The-Truth".  Never give them any information.
If it's a wrong number or your name comes up you might want to check your credit report for one of a couple reasons.
There have been reports of folks opening a CC and leaving a false number.
There have also been reports of identity theft with opening CC at another bank.
Better to be safe than sorry.
Pretty easy to place an alert with the three credit reporting services.
You can also receive a full report of your social security number to see if someone is using your SS# to get employment or funding.

Called the 800# on the back of my card they said a hold was put on my card because of unusual online purchases.  I had ordered from a store online and was shipped from 4 different places.  Good to know they were looking out for me

800-288-4206 was legit from First Omaha regarding some questionable charges that had appeared on my card. If you have doubts call the number on the back of your credit card, but you should call.

I got the call and voicemail and an email and when i didn't respond right away, they called my work (which a scammer/telemarketer has NEVER called my work before) this is legit and my card was compromised and it was declined for 6 charges of over $3000!!!  They start out with a $1.00 charge to make sure the card is active then it's open season for these scammers...luckily this ccard company was suspicious with that $1.00 charge (which i am being refunded for) and declined any further transactions and now my card is suspended.  THIS ONE IS ACTUALLY LEGIT AND NEEDS ATTENTION IF YOU HAVE ANY CREDIT CARD WITH FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF OMAHA/FNB.  THankfully "my" Malaysia reserversations never went thru!
these scammers are getting sneakier...so check your statements every, every month if not more!   Scary stuff.

Legit! Called to inform me of unauthorized charges from the UK.  Closed me account, issued me a new card, and I'm not responsible for the charges.

    THIS IS A FRAUD!
Legitimate First Bankcard e-mails always contain your first and last name with the notation, Account ending with ****. ( the last four digits of your card). Never call or respond to any E-mail request like this. Contact only the number printed on the back of your card. If you receive a suspicious phone call, request a name and callback number. You will likely get a "hang-up" at that point.

Got an automated call asking me to call 800 288 4206 about potential fraud on my credit card.
Called the number on the back of my credit card and was put though to the fraud department. They had spotted a potential fraud and we were able to fix it.

This is legit although I would call the number on the back of your credit card to be sure.

Legit call. Called to see if we had made charges for gasoline in Honduras, three big charges which were declined by First National Bank, plus two charges in Florida recently that were declined.  This is the kind of action needed to be taken by more credit card companies.  First National Bank Omaha also called years ago about jewelry store charges in Abu Dhabi and spoiled the surprise I had planned for my wife when I got home!

This is a legitimate number. This number wasn't one I recognized so I didn't answer. It went to voicemail. Voicemail said to call this number and reference a 4 digit number. I called FNB Omaha Customer Service. The Fraud Dept. had called because of unusual activity. Scammers started with charitable donations and advanced to computers.

Got an email requesting that I call this number regarding possible fraud on a credit account.  I have a bank-branded credit card that is serviced by First Bankcard (which is why some may think they don't have an account with First Bankcard).  To be safe, I called the customer service number on the back of my card.  The automated system sent me to the fraud department as my card had been flagged.  They saw suspicious activity (which thankfully was me) and had blocked my card from further transactions until it could be verified.  Thankful for their watching of my account: a little annoyance is far better than being the victim of fraud!

If you are contacted for fraud and you aren't sure if your card is serviced by First Bankcard, just check the back of all your store- and bank-branded credit cards.  Mine says "This card is issued by First National Bank of Omaha pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc." in the middle of the back, and at the top says "www.firstbankcard.com/~name of my bank~".  Regardless, follow the wise advice to call the number on the back of your card (rather than phone numbers or websites in emails and phone calls) if you need to contact customer service for any reason!

I also do not have a card with First Bankcard, so I hung up, figuring it was a scam. This number does not appear to be one of their numbers if you look here: https://www.firstbankcard.com/ConsumerWeb/fir ... /SHOW_FORM/form

I just received these same calls. But the way they handle it if it is legit makes it way more suspicious. When you normally call the number on your card you go through prompts that ask if you want the balance or make a payment and so on....this time it goes straight to the fraud department. She told me that when I entered my credit card number it was flagged in the system to go to fraud. Being in IT I know you can hijack a phone number for at least a short period of time. Plus she was super short when I questioned it and she got off the phone really quick as if she had been caught. If its legit then they handle it in a super sketchy way. They are asking me about charges that haven't even showed up on my online account yet that I know I made. They should let you drill to the fraud department from the main number if its legit. Especially when you get transferred there and they want the number again because it doesn't transferred somehow then your mothers maiden name.

***LEGIT*** I had to make a purchase for business and it was in Switzerland. I used my First Bankcard. This prompted the fraud department call. I didn't have to enter ANY personal information. I just had to indicate if the last 5 transactions (which they had) were valid.

Got a call. They identified via recorded message that they were calling from FNB Omaha Fraud Department.  Did not provide my credit card number.  Claimed to be checking on a $90+ fraudulent charge in Kansas City in October.  This is January.  Made no sense to call 3 months later.  I hung up.

Received this number in an email saying to call because there were suspicious charges on my card.  I have an affinity card managed by First Bank, so I called the number on the back of the card instead of the number in the email.  Sure enough, the call was routed to the fraud department and there were some charges I did not make.  I believe the email was legit and the number is OK, but I would recommend you always use the number on your card or the bank's web site (after you log in) to call for service.

Received a message as well from this number.  I did not call back this number which was provided and called the number on the back of my card just to be safe and it was First Bank letting me know there was suspicious charge from another state.  They closed the account for us.

I called the customer service number on the back of my First Bankcard MasterCard after receiving an email asking me to contact the First Bankcard Fraud Prevention Department at this number due to unusual activity on my card. The customer service representative verified that this is, indeed, one of the many numbers First Bankcard uses, depending upon where the cardmember is located.
