    I receive this same message about four times a week. I usually let the phone go to voicemail so I can have a recording of them stating that this about an item returned from my checking account. I purposely did not personalize my voice mail on my cell phone. They do not even know if they have the right number or who might answer this phone. So everytime they do it and I record it is just one more violation of the law.

    I received the same phone call saying that they had given ample time to take care of a debt and to call them back which i haven't done because its always either Mr. Reid or Ms.Reynolds. Don't these people have anything to do with their time than try and scam hard working people like ourselves.

    i fallen victim to this. I did have a loan which defaulted back in May 2012 from check n go. I tried to settle with check n go recently but they stated that i should contact united debt holdings. Who doesn't answer the phone or call me back. So when 800-290-1065 called me i was like look lets settle and stop these calls to my phone at home, personal and work. It can be 10 times a day on each line. Yes, i did get scared because im in the process of fixing my credit. So i decided to give Mike all my information which was a foolish thing on my part. What can i do to fix this? I've made a payment of $50 using my debit card ask for some type of documents sent to my e-mail. I have not seen anything! help i dont know what to do next.

    Close your account NOW. They will drain your it, leaving you with no recourse.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    I keep receiving calls from them and had a loan through check n go that I paid off completely. I had an ex that used my name and number as a contact so they defaulted and now PDL are harassing me at my work and cell about his debt. at first, I had 3 different people calling me, I tried calling them once to find out who they were. their first question is who am I and what is my case # or social security #, who on earth would give that info over the phone to strangers? they claimed that I needed my attorney to call them regarding an important matter. my attorney told me to ignore them as they are scammers. that was a few months ago. I received a call yesterday at work and today on my cell saying that they were filing fraud charges in Tulsa county. who calls someone in advance that they are filing charges or they are sending a warrant out? these people are fraud/scammers/using illegal practices and do not speak with anyone.

    Just got off the phone with Mr Drake. Said it was for check n go and I'm on video. OK so? Then says there's a haring in court tomorrow! Asked what can I do to prevent this. I told him politely I had a back injury and off work. I was put on hold mid sentence! He then got back on the phone and when I I told him he called me and he asked a question that I was trying to answer put me on hold. I was hung up on! I'm pissed now so I call back. He answers and as soon as I tell him do not ever hang up on me he did it again! On my voicemail he included my mother. Wrong thing to do Mr drake. Wrong thing to do.
