- SBirchEarlier this year this company started calling me at work, home and cell from 214 666 3833 and 1 800 290 1065. The company calls each number one after the other leaving message that they are taking me to Court. Initially, I called them back and was placed on hold. This week starting August 1st the company has started calling again. Today (August 4, I have received a total of 15 calls about 5 for each contact number) threatening to take me to Court and it's only 11:00am CST. Isn't there something that can be done. My phones are ringing constantly until about 9pm or a few minutes later.

- george| 4 repliesThey called they are PDL recovery guy who called said his name is RYAN, Claimed they are collecting for check n go, and stated in message that a "complaint was attached to my name and social security number with allegations of fraud" BULL [***], (this is a payday loan and checks you write for a payday loan are considered Colateral and as such do not fall under hot check laws in texas) Also if they had any evidence of fraud which they do not since i havent done that, I simply became unemployed and was unable to pay it back, if they had enough evidence or or legitimate then they would have already after nearly a YEAR pressed charges or filed suit.
I think they are just threatening and harrassing to make it sound like they are a da's or prosecuters office to try and make people pay up. ALSO the previous 100 or so calls over past year have not mentioned anything about fraud, i think that is a new tactic they are using to try and convince people to give them bank account info. and You know what, Since they are threatening and harassing, even if i had the money to pay off the loan, I WONT, im not paying jack [***], they can get a damn bailout from uncle sucker.
They cant do Sqaut! You guys DOnt pay these people anything, dont fall for their scam, they make you think they are prosecutors about to prosecute for hot check THEY CANT at least not in TEXAS, and since loan contract orginates in texas it falls under texas law, I dont even think they will sue, surely they know by now i will not pay up, so if they could or wanted to they should have already filed suit.
Scammers? or threatening collectors, probably both.- Caller: PDL recovery group

- clrI got an incoming call on my cell from 330-259-7386. It was that whole William Fields message that everyone else is talking about and to return a call to 800-290-1065 before they file whatever with some court in my jurisdiction, blah, blah, blah. I don't know why these clowns get so worked up so that they don't listen even when you do talk to them: We told Check-n-Go a month ago that they are being written off in our bankruptcy - GOOD BYE! Now I have to find time to call my lawyer and report these losers for continuing to harass me...

- Granny| 2 repliesI received a message from this # in my voicemail at work. Someone named Jen or Jan at ext 111 saying they were calling from PDL and that my first payment was past due and if I didn't return their call they would assume I was not cooperating and would garnish my wages. I don't even know what its about.

- zbrat2011my husband received a call from this company by a man named William Fields. I currently live in one or the states where payday loans are illegal so i just had him erase the message and ignore it and judging by some of the comments i have read on here, it seems like i did the right thing. Thanks everyone for your comments, they were very helpful to my husband and I....DON'T SEND ANY MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE!!..THEY ARE ILLEGAL AND ARE ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY!!

- AsifnottodayWilliam Fields little voice message just called the company I work for. Im surprised that this call is from a white man and not a foreign sounding person. They always say my name is attached to something and they will fax me the legal papers, or they can only fax them to my supervisor at work. REALLY?? Yeah I'm stupid! I don't owe anybody anything....SCAM!!! Dont give them any personal info and do not call them back or dial *67 before your number.

- BrookeThese people harass me day and night. They call my work, my cell, my parents. They threaten me. I have heard they are from the US State Dept, the FBI, PDL, the US Criminal Division ? Totally made up names and each time it goes from that they have issued a Summons (now I work for attorneys and I know how things work and the process for filing claims against people) and that the FBI has it, they have my social and are going to put a lien on my bank account. I have given this number and the various names that go with it to my attorney and each time my lawyer directs me to this website and tells me it is a scam. I wish someone could put a stop to these people!

- GrannyGot another call today at work, this time it was a recorded message from William Field TELLING me to call that 800 # (but the call was coming from 410-713-4817) and that my check bounced and they were taking action against me. I dialed the 410 # and got a recording. They don't even say who they are calling for. I hung up. I did have a loan with Check N Go several years ago, but after doing some research (I keep everything) after receiving previous calls, I found out that I already paid off that loan, (eventually but paid). I decided If I DO owe anybody any money they only way they are going to get it is by dealing with me directly and not through no d---#@m debt collector. (or at least find out from the company you owe whether or not its legit.)

- Sick and tiredI've learned my lesson about seeking out a payday loan online! Now I'm getting all these weird calls with people accusing me of not paying back a loan that I don't have. Earlier today a William Fields called telling me to call that 800# but he called from 678-325-7012. Something about a check bouncing as well. These guys are all over!

- VLI had a payloan for a total of 550. They are doubling what they want me to pay and also VIP doesn't want to speak with me. I think they work together and when people default on a loan, I just missed 1 or 2 pymts and they could have called me.

- Sick and Tired replies to dont mess with TXRIGHT ON "Don't mess with Texas"!!!!!! You are awesome! I, too, have wanted to expose these people now. I just haven't felt like spending the money to run their profile. But YOU'RE AWESOME!! I keep getting the phone calls with a recording on both my cell and at work for a debt that was already paid off some time ago. I am going to call in and tell them off and demand they cease all calls.. But folks out there, please be aware that these people cannot have you arrested, or such. When someone owes a debt, the worst that can happen is that the company reports it to the credit bureaus, and files a small claims suit. In that case you will FIRST be served paperwork. In most cases though, it costs them more to file than what the debt is worth, so they don't proceed unless it's more than $1000 or so. So DO NOT believe them when they tell you they ALREADY have a judgement against you. They CANNOT get a judgement without going through the court system, and that CANNOT happen with you being notified and served. They also cannot garnish wages until they have received a real judgement. So if you DO happen to be served with court paperwork, you then have a 30 day opportunity to respond and make arrangements. PLEASE DON'T GIVE OUT INFO OVER THE PHONE TO ANYONE!!!
- Sick and Tired replies to dont mess with TXSorry for the typo... meant to say " that CANNOT happen WITHOUT you being served first." (with regards to getting a judgement through the courts)

- Lil_Mama replies to dont mess with TXThank you sooo soo soo much for posting all of this! I am now going to do everything you suggested! This guy called me at work threating to throw me in jail for check fraud after I told him over and over to not contact me at work. He got really upset when I kept insisting they give me their Business License number and asked to speak with the owner of my company. I just laughed and said I know my rights and I know you cant file criminal charges against me. He told me I didnt know S***. Well I think he may be retracting that statement when I am done with all this!
