- KristiMy best friend and I have been getting harassing phone calls from them several times a week!! We thought that they were a legitimate group. I called them, twice actually. Both times I got transferred to "Stacey" at EXT. 105. Since they seemed legitimate---the first time anyway, we made an agreement that we'd pay them $50 a month on the 3rd. of every month. So, we did that in November. "Stacey" told me that we had to pay at least $50 a month because I said we'd only pay $10 a month---that was all we could afford. She said that if we didn't pay $50 a month, that would be fraud and we'd be taken to court. At first, I told her that I would call Check-n-Go and work this out with them and she wanted to know why and said that Check-n-Go sold the account (?) to them.
So, since we thought they were legitimate, we paid them through my best friend's checking account by phone. Stacey then asked me if I wanted to have it taken out automatically every month. I said "no" and that I would call back on the third of the month, which I have not done . . . yet!! Now, I certainly never will!! I should have trusted my instincts and just stuck with paying Check-n-Go directly!! Perhaps we can force them to return it through the bank.
Thank you for all this info. When they leave threatening messages on the answering machine, by some stupid tape recorded message, we tend to believe them. I guess what Check-n-Go probably would do is send a statement stating that they will hand over the account to a collection agency.- Caller: PDL Recovery

- DBA recording keeps calling my cell asking for my sister-in-law's name and lists this as the call back number. They list a reference number and sound really threatening, and they leave no indication about what they're calling about. It totally sounds like a scam.
- Caller: Unknown, they say it too quickly.

- Concerned SisterI got a call from this number multiple times first message to call back at 262-432-2618 Ms Reynolds. Then my sister got a call stating I must call back before noon or court proceedings would be filed. Called back 1-800-290-1065 spoke with someone claiming to be Jeffrey Drake re: a payday loan my sister took out at a local credit union and I was the co-applicant. I asked for copy of application and my signature proving I applied as co-applicant he said I'd have to talk to my sister and it could have been done on line and might be fraud. As soon as I started asking for further proof that I was co-applicant he immediately wanted to get off the phone and said I needed to have my sister call him. Didn't even want the numbers I was willing to provide to reach my sister to discuss this loan. I highly suspect this is a scam and will be reporting this to the authorities.

- lynnGetting calls at work..messages from "William Fields". referencing a returned check. I called back finally and asked them who they are, who is their client, and told them to send me the information regarding any debt in writing. I told them if they have my work number they should have my address. They did! So I told them that it was against the law to continue to call my employer when I have asked them not to. I told them it was against the law to give out personal information to any person who answers the phone. The person asked me who called and did that and I said "William Fields". He told me that this guy is an attorney in their legal department...yeah right..So I said if he's an attorney then he should know better. I told the man that I will not give him any information and that I will address the matter after I get something in writing. I want to dispute this debt but cannot do that unless I get a written request for payment. I was threatened with prosecution for fraud and was informed that writing a check that was returned was a crime. Unbelievable! I most likely will never get a letter. I do not know their client, or them.

- Nicole| 2 repliesWow. Thanks for all this info. I didn't know what a shady place PDL was. I should've known when this man, Jeffrey Drake, was so freakin rude. His threats of filing fraud and sending people to jail and just called me right now at 7:15am which I know is illegal are ridiculous. I finally told him I researched his name and company and he got mad and said " good luck cause I will be arresting you for fraud" and hung up. I will be doing everything I can to shut him up!
