- dont be so anal replies to maria| 1 replyha ha i guess you have some enemies who gave out your cell phone number(maybe it was your husband trying to lighten you up a little, you seem uptight)
- Researcher replies to Mama C| 2 repliesIf you entered the Sundance Vacations sweepstakes with the hopes of winning the grand prize but NOT with the express intent of inviting relentless telemarketing calls bordering on harassment, and you have been the recipient of uninvited or unwelcome telephone calls and are registered on the federal or state Do Not Call lists, you should call the FTC at its toll-free hotline at: 1-888-382-1222; or you should call the specific state in which Sundance Vacations has sales offices:
(1) Illinois 1-800-386-5438
(2) New Jersey 1-800-242-5846
(3) Pennsylvania 1-800-441-2555
(4) Wisconsin 1-800-422-7128 - LI received a call from them as well saying that they are calling about an entry form I filled out. About a week ago I received a call from someone else claiming that I won $50,000 or a luxury car of my choice. Apparently I filled out a form at a No Doubt concert. Looking back when I filled out the form they asked for my name and phone number and that's it. Hmmm
- Caller: Sundance Vacations
- CS| 2 repliesThey called me 7/09 saying I entered a contest at a concert I did attend. Makes me think they saw my profile on Facebook or Myspace at one point before I was smart enough to make private. I don't remember entering any contests. Since I'm smart enough to know nothing is free, I told them I'm not interested and can't think about it now because I had a death in the family. The woman pretended to be nice, but still asked me to write down her number just in case. Even though I had a death in the family!!

- AJI called the 1-800-309-7000 and asked the lady to remove me from their calling list...she went ahead and did that (after questioning my intelligence in turning down this GREAT offer in this economy..silly me, what am I thinking) so hopefully no more calls.

- DanK| 1 replyI went with my girlfriend to a dave matthews concert, and she did fill out a form - they called her today apparently to inform her of her winnings, I simply laughed at her... there's a reason i don't fill those stupid things out!!! We're both 21 so no 'issues' there but since she is a student ( DOESN"T HAVE A SOLID INCOME TO PAY FOR MULTIPLE TRIPS that they'll pitch her at the presentation....) they needed her dad to call in to verify that she's a student!!! ---> he has the $$ , he's the one they want to talk to DUH - I unfortunatly told her what was "up", and THEN searched here and whalah... it truley is ...garbage! I feel bad though, her parents will never stop getting called now regardless or the DNC list
OH the DNC list...HAHAHAHAH load of garbage itself --
for example my old employer TruGreen - Decide to go with their service, they get your telephone number of course, then when you cancel--> they'll call you... OHHH they will call you relentlessly
*after 2 years of no service AND ****regardless of DNC list , or how many times you say STOP calling... they dont care! they sit at the desk and your number is cycled thru the calling system until you finally buy! and chewing them out (any telemarketer!) will almost always guarentee them selecting "call back later" instead of putting you on THEIR dnc list.
Sundance i'm sure is much the same... not a travel company... a sales company... sell sell sell sell... no taking "no" for an answer
Bottom line - DO NOT EVER FILL OUT SWEEPSTAKES INFORMATION!! EVER!!! BE CAREFUL OF THOSE COMPANIES YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER TO!!! especially those of you who want the DNC list to work! If YOU gave (or someone else even!) your telephone number to anyone... that is permission for them to call today, tomorrow, and 2 years from now even after you forgot about it REGARDLESS of the DNC list!!!! it sucks...but sadly true : (
And a little food for thought-- judging how many people's responses i see here.... who ELSE thinks just MAYBE.... these giveaways and sweepstakes note cards we fill out are, instead of being put in a giant spinning raffle cylinder, are stacked on 10 people's desks every morning to be cycled through and notified of their "winnings".... When you fill out that note card, you're not entering a contest silly! You're telling sundance inc "HEY! put me in that giant pile of people you call regularly!" It's either that... or there's a HELL OF A LOT OF PEOPLE BEATING THE ODDS AND WINNING!!! so many in fact that.. you're chances of waking up tomorrow are about equal to winning something from Sundance!
think about it.....
and check out the post from "researcher" -- dated Aug 25th 2009 -
OHHH and order of calls went like this --
Laura left a message for my gf -
the dad relayed it to my gf -
gf called and talked to Laura ( found out she wasn't a money maker haha )
dad called back as requested to "confirm" but "Laura" is busy, she told me to let you know (specifically)the details though so i can help you"
who that was I'm not sure at the end name-wise
but it was simply a "get him in the door asap" move
DON'T BE STUPID!!!
honestly what sickens me more is that Dave Matthews Band would allow such a crappy promoter inside the show. At least mamba didn't ask for phone numbers and addresses - just free candy, take it by the handful..that's what I like... the kind of FREE that's INSTANT! now I buy mamba candies on occccasssssion SMART PROMOTERS!! and its not DMB's fault... Damn YOU live-nation!- Caller: Laura - Sundance

- dank replies to Researcher| 1 replyDNC list is GARBAGE the second you give your number to ANY company!!
Whether it's due to filling out a form - sweepstakes - signing contracts for 'services' and then canceling....- once they have your number, given to them BY you ( or anyone else that, unfortunately for you, gave it to them) the DNC list does NOT matter! it is essentially VOIDED (for whomever you've given you're number to)
so when it comes to lawsuit time - and the judge or whomever asks "did you give them your number?" you're really answering the question ---> "did you give them permission to call you?"
The CORRECT action is
1) keep yourself on the DNC list of course!
2) Immediately do what ever it takes (if that means calling the FTC, i'm not sure) to have BLOCKED all calls from those who sneakily convinced you or someone else to acquire your telephone number because otherwise they will NOT stop ever...definitely DO NOT waste your time calling ANY Sundance location... If it's not the FTC or YOUR phone company, it's a waste of time!

AllTemp HVAC - dank replies to Sundance Vacations| 1 replyYour business practices are terrible. You've aced marketing, and failed miserably in customer satisfaction and outside sales.
Had you simply counted on a guaranteed customer satisfaction THROUGH free giveaways, you may have been able to boost your "word of mouth" credibility. Providing a free, no sales pitch @ presentation, REAL raffle-giveaway at quality resorts and destinations would create a strong advertisement. ANYONE whos ANYONE in the business world should already know that "word of mouth" advertising far exceeds the response of anyone than your methods ( tv, event-promos etc.)
when uncle Joe-shmoe tells me at Christmas dinner he won a free cruise last month, just entered a contest- picked up his tickets and enjoyed; I get curious. Then he says "yea and at the end of the WHOLE cruise, they sent, in the mail (NOT CALLED), gift vouchers for friends/family to use and get a discount on THEIR trips 100 bucks off... 200 off... WHATEVER -
I'd be asking uncle joe alot of questions, trusting his answers, and a LOT more than I'd ever trust some idiot in a presentation room who did good @ college in Intro to Speech 101...
You can always thrive off of those who are not able to see through a well written, overused speech. But if you have any inclination of surviving in an ultra-competitive world, you may want to rethink your strategy...even the idiots get a clue after awhile...
