    dank:

    You are categorically incorrect!

The FTC, and various state Attorney Generals, has repeatedly taken the position that "sweepstakes" do NOT constitute "express authorization" to telemarket those names on the DNC registries. Moreover, it's only a matter of time before the FTC cracks down on Sundance Vacations/Down Marketing merely because of the volume of complaints, notwithstanding that Sundance Vacations is KNOWINGLY skirting the DNC mandates.

The following article substantiates the aforementioned statement:

If you entered the Sundance Vacations sweepstakes with the hopes of winning the grand prize but NOT with the express intent of inviting relentless telemarketing calls bordering on harassment, and you have been the recipient of uninvited or unwelcome telephone calls and are registered on the federal or state Do Not Call lists, you should call the FTC at its toll-free hotline at:  1-888-382-1222; or you should call the specific state in which Sundance Vacations has sales offices:

Same story here. My daughter got a called from the same number and telling her she won a trip to Caribean for 2, but she was under age and they told her  that the parents can go instead and ask us to call them back instead on this same number. I did some research on this number and good thing saw this page.

    Thanks,

Sundance Vacations is always boasting about their membership in the Better Business Bureau. Consequently, the consumer should be aware of the myth of the Better Business Bureaus (BBB). The BBB is totally supported by business organizations that subscribe to their service such as Sundance Vacations. The consumers’ contribute absolutely nothing to the BBB. Consequently, when a dispute arises the BBB has the choice of supporting the consumer, or biting the hand that feeds them by opposing the business organizations that are the life-blood of their very existence!  The BBB is one of the biggest fallacies’ in America. They have no enforcement powers what-so-ever; they are nothing more than a paper tiger totally supported by the business world to offer the unwary consumer a false sense of security. Buyer Better Beware.

Read this about the BBB’s! Better Business Bureau or Buyer Better Beware?

If someone calls you from this company it is a scam.. I went to the Rv show this last weekend and filled out a trip to Yellowstone park then got a call for Sundance about this trip I won to the Bahamas with airfare included. NoT!! she said the kids could come to the office and I could also will 1000 dollars.. and a year to use it or give it away.. When something sounds too good to be true it is.. don't fall for it.

Sundance Vacations is a scam and has been downgraded by the BBB.  My ex-husband called me about how he won a free vacation from them and all we had to do was to go sit in their seminar.  I googled the company and guess what?  Not surprised, it is a ripoff.  I would not classify it as an outright scam because in the end, if you are willing to pay nearly a $1,000 you will get the vacation but they are relentless.  They will try everything in their power to get you to buy one of their packages.  Ask yourself this -- when you go on vacation, do you really want to go to the same place over and over again?

is there anyway to get your name off of their calling list? I filled out a raffle at the xtu 25th anniversary show. Not knowing it would enter me into this giacantic web of  phone calls.

But is it really that much of a rip off??  I mean has anyone here actually paid the taxes and went on the cruise?? I mean, you fill out a piece of paper, deal with a telemarketer for 10 minutes, go to an hour long speach where you recieve 2 free Cubs or Sox tickets and some food vouchers for your vacation... pay 200 dollars each for 2 people on a three day cruise....  I don't know about you all but the hour and 10 minutes of my time totally beats what vacations REALLY cost these days!  I'm a waitress, and i don't make alot of money to be able to afford any kind of break, and i have never won anything in my life.... So to all of you people talking so horribly about it, can any of you tell me :: How WAS the cruise??

Here is my suggestion - offer a good product/service with good value.  Don't use gimmicks to try to trick people into buying.  Make sure your salespeople are honest at all times with potential customers.  That's how you grow business and gain a better reputation.

AA, back on page 2 and 3 there are reviews from people who went through the entire process.  If you care about their experiences you can find them there.

If you feel that putting up with hours of sales pitches to be put in a crappy hotel for 2 nights is worth it then go for it.  People on here ARE sharing their experiences, you just aren't reading them.

They called b/c I had filled something out at an event and said "I have great news about the thing you filled out!" I called them and was hung up on when I requested the extension that I was told to go to. I don't like the company.

I have received 4 calls so far from this number on my cell phone.  2x they left no message.  The third time they said I had won a vacation and to call them back.  Tonight, a woman claimed she was following up on some concert tickets that were sent to  me and I needed to call her back cuz it was urgent.  [***].  Amazing how anyone they call can buy into this nonsense.

I put my cell phone on the DNC list 2 years ago. I reported the calls and I have recorded the messages for future reference just in case..

Funny thing is, I use my cell phone strictly for business and my voicemail has a business recording on it, Yet they still leave the dumb messages.  What a pathetic job they have.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your adventure with Sundance. We too received a call from them this morning offering a free cruise. The temptation to accept was great but after reading your detailed letters you saved us a lot of trouble. Thanks again.
