We received a call this evening from 800-325-6000 it was only part of a message saying something about Western Union and we need to call back or something would happen for protection for protection. Instead I looked on Google at this number and found this scam alert

This number comes up and it says ....JC Penneys but it is not.

My call showed JCPenney and no msg. was left.  Don't bother to answer them or anyone else you don't recognize.

"Jack" from "Windows Refund Department" called today. This is the number that showed up on our caller ID, but it was showing as JC Penney Co., Inc. When I called the number back, it was Western Union. He constantly asks for the same name; we coincidentally have someone in our 3-person office with that name. We reported this to Western Union and they suggested we call the local police. An officer came to take the report and said that this happens all the time, the callers are from outside the US, and that he'll add the call data to the national files - apparently when enough gets reported, the FBI can sometimes crack down on a couple of these scammers. His advice was to hang up when you get a call like this; don't engage or answer any questions at all.

This is a GREAT example of caller ID SPOOFING.

I got a call from a foreign man offering a refund for $299.00 dollars for computer support. He asked me if I remember making the purchase for that amount. I told him that I don't remember making that purchase. I
also told him that I keep getting quite a few calls asking me the same question, and I'm not interested in calls
like that. So then he waited a minute and hung up. After he hung up, I thought that I should have asked him what method of payment did I supposedly use for the purchase? If he would had said a credit card, then I would have asked him if he knows the credit card that was used, and the number. My caller I.D showed Jc Penny Co Inc. for this number: 800-325-6000.

I got a message from this same company concerning a computer support refund from a purchase that I supposedly made

1-800-325-6000 is the correct Western Union number (google "Western Union number"). But it's possible that the number is being faked. If you get a call from WU, and you're suspicious, you should ask to call back (to that number).

Called, when answered heard foreign sounding voices speaking a foreign language

Hmm, I received a call from this number this evening but did not answer it. I see some people say it's a scam using JCP or western union. I actually just made a western union transfer today only a few hours prior to receiving the call. I listed my number when filling out the forms. I'll have to go back and see if western union lists the same number as theirs. I hope it's just a coincidence and they haven't actually hacked in to western union!

Bhahaha..... he was nervous talked to me. I said " u might think Im bloody idiot"???  He tried to make me understand but again n again I just laugh, big laugh. The question is f**** private, ask about " what u did with the money u received, who sending u money, I need all ur document, ur address, bussiness" etc

I just received a call from this number, said they needed my information, due to government rules and regulations, told them I was buzy, so they are gonna call in the morning, I'm gonna make sure cops are here so they can record and listen to them.

Western union money transfer.  Think it is bs.  Can no one stop this crap?

I received a call and did not leave a message. This number is listed as Western Union - why they called and left a blank voicemail is unusual.
