I have been receiving calls from this number up to 5 times a day for the last two weeks.  Early in the morning and at night!!!  I have an account with HSBC but I would think that if they needed to speak to me, they would have left a message. I haven't called back nor have I answered the number.  I also looked up this number online and found this page. Make it STOP!

Same story here. I have a couple of their credit cards...1 being a Best Buy card. I ran them to the limit (hey dont we all) but pay on it every month. They call at least 5 times a day. Sigh. Im gonna just pay off their cards, tell them to close the accounts, then change my cell #.

They call 2-3 times a day for the past couple of weeks, I don't have any accounts with HSBC like some of the other posts here, when I pick up there is usually no one on the line, one time someone replied in another language (spanish?), if my answering machine picks up there is no message. Caller ID displays the number with "Unavailable"

Yep, HSBC....good ole HSBA....They are the ones the LOVE to breech their own contracts. They get you as a carholder by offering you a whoopty do $25 gift cert to Best Buy. Yep, if you have a Best Buy Card, look forward to hearing from HSBC...they ARE affiliated. Every Best Buy cardholder gets solicited by HSBC...its a FACT! Anyway, they offer this lousy $25.00 certificate if you make your first two (2) payments on time when you use your new HSBC card. Good luck in getting that whoppin $25.00 . We have called 6 trimes in the last 2+ years asking them where it was, and all they can say is it was processed and mailed out. We assured them we had never received it, so they said they would process it again. This is the RUN AROUND we have gotten every time we call. In our opinion, this is NO different that a customer promising to make a payment on time, and then not doin so. HSBC will be sure to call you 12+ times a day when you owe THEM $25 lousey bucks, but they dont care about what they promise or breech!
HSBC & Best Buy are among those businesses on my "[***] List" along side Walmart with nothing but problems. Everything we buy from Best Buy has failed to operate for very long. Either they have very rough shipping & receiving handlers, or they just buy a cheaper line of crap to sell cheaper. My Sony DSC-P200 7.2 MP Camera is now a $309.00 Dollar Windchime! Sony, another on our list to never get our money again, especially when 2 days out of the 1 year warranty was a big issue for a multibillion dollar company. They wanted 200 to fix it, and i could go out and buy their new line for that, but i wont cause im sure ill have to take 5 of the same pic to get one pic that isnt a blur....
Its really sad I own a "Memorex" 1989 8mm Camcorder that has out lasted any of the new garbage we have owned: Sono Mavica FD-80, Sony DSC-P200, Samsung DV SCD23, and I can go on and on. That just shows its all disposable after one year nowadays....even the cars we drive!
Getting off the subject, but havent vented in awhile....if anyone knows a "LIST" type website for companies and their products/poor customer service, let us know. If there is something like "Angies List" to do so.

This is HSBC Card Services, which owns several portfolio's of credit card accounts. You may not be aware that your account may now be owned by HSBC. Some of the credit accounts they own or have in their portfolio are - - Orchard Bank, Direct Merchant's Bank, HFC or Household Finance, among many others.

This is HSBC.  I have an account with them but do not understand why they are calling throughout the day.   I answer the phone and say "hello, HELLO???" and no one ever comes to the phone- about one minute later some machine comes on and says- " All our operators are busy please stay on the line?"  Why the hell do they call and put me on hold????  If you answer the phone they will call you right back so it is just best not to answer if you ask me.  Trust me I am closing this account as soon as I can.  They are a pain in the butt!!!!!!!!!

This is some kind of scam. I'm PROFOUNDLY DEAF and I use my cell phone only for email. I've had my number for three years and I NEVER gave it to ANYONE since I can't HEAR on ANY telephone. I don't have ANY outstanding bills/debts, NO account with this [***] outfit and NO account with any of the companies they say they collect for. If I had an account that any company would have cause to act on, they would have my HOME phone number where there are hearing people who can take call for me. So for this scam outfit to call my cell phone number is totally bogus.

Another thing they may be going is trying to get you to call back because they switch you to a PREMIUM (900) phone line. If you call back and get switched, you DO have a legiitimate charge posted to your phone bill because call TO a 900 number are billed to the caller, not the company being called.  It's an old scam and ILLEGAL. If you call and they seem to be trying to get you to stay on the line, even if they are saying they have to "find" the person who is handling your case, or they may sit and insist you are the person they are trying to reach and are denying it, they are actually trying to KEEP you on the line because the longer you are on the line, the more money they make in PREMIUM phone charges.

NEVER call back. NEVER speak to them.  ONLY report them to the Do Not Call Registry or to the Federal Communications Commission.

I have reported them to the National Do Not Call Registry.

HSBC Fraud department says this number is NOT connected to them. When you dial 800-395-2274, an automated voice says, "Card Services" and asks for your account information -- it is obviously an identity theft scam. Like others have said, the number calls repeatedly, when I do pick up (rarely), an automated voice says, "Please wait for an important message," and an operator comes on the line who asks for a different person every time. I tell them to take me off the list and stop calling and they rudely insist they've never called before. I've reported them to the Do Not Call List and am considering Martin's tecnique listed below of calling them back, entering a fake account number to get them on the phone and trying to be removed from the list that way. I only fear that will make it worse somehow. Has anyone else tried this and it worked? I wish cell phones had call block.
