This number calls me 4 or 5 times a day every day except Sunday . When I answer I either get a click and then BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP or if they answer they claim that they can't help me until I give them the number that they just called! This I don't do since it just verifies it as a real number.

    Annoyed!
A few days ago I started receiving several calls a day from this 800#. They never leave a message so I don't pick up. I have a pre-paid cell phone & only give the # to close acquaintances. I don't know how they got this #! None of my credit cards are affiliated with this HSBC (I've checked). Besides, all of my credit is in good standing. Whatever. I've added them to the BLOCK LIST feature on my phone. If you have a cell phone you probably have this feature. It doesn't ring for that incoming # anymore but it does come up in my caller ID list. Annoying, but I'll just keep deleting the list weekly.

They Can Call Until HELL Freezes Over!
Repeated calls and hang-ups throughout the day...and night.

I know my credit card payment is past due for May, but I had to make a choice between paying them or buying medications for my sick husband who is currently recovering from radical cancer surgery.

    No contest here.

I do in fact have an account with HSBC through my local Sears. I applied for the credit card....last February. I, however, never received a card to be able to make payments. They have called before, and they tell me they have the wrong address for me, and I have corrected this problem at least three times. Lately, they constantly call. When I pick up, I hear nothing but dead air. When I call the number back, they ask me for the last four digits of the card that I do not have. What can I do??

I have two cards from HSBC, one which is up to date and one, which is a payment behind. These people had the nerve to call my 81 year old Father's house asking for me, I don't even live there, but because he, in the past had one of their cards I guess they thought they'd call him because my phone # has been disconnected and changed due to the fact I keep getting annoying calls from all these warranty companies and telemarketers. Maybe if all these [***] stopped calling everyone and annoying them then we could keep our phone #'s and not have to change them all the time and when people really needed to reach us they'd call the right # instead of the WRONG one and invading my privacy rights, Attorney General, here I come

    Grrrrr!!
Add me to the list! I get an average of 5-10 calls a day from (800)395-2274 on my cell phone. Just like everyone else is saying, they never leave a message, and if I do answer, I get a message that says "please hold", then it clicks twice and goes dead. I have several credit cards, and the only one I'm behind on is my HSBC card, so YES, it is them. And why am I behind? Because they posted 2 separate payments I sent it, yet claimed they didn't receive them, even after I provided proof from the bank. They keep adding late fees for these so-called non-payments, even though I have provided proof. HSBC is DIRTY!! Don't EVER get credit from them!!!

Just ask them to fax, or email you a justification of the charge.  If they do and you remember it. great.  If they do and you don't remember it, then you can dispute it with them.

I had an HSBC credit card account and was never using it.  In this day of identity theft I figured it is better to not have an open card I really never planned to used again.  Since I got married my husband and I only use ONE joint card.  So, I closed my HSBC card 3 weeks ago.  And the calls started this week.  Very strange.

They called me today twice. Once in the morning and one this evening. When I answered the phone, I didn't hear anything so I hung up. These people are crazy and I hope they don't call or else I will block them.

Under the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) it is illegal to harass people even if they owe you money. I am not an attorney everything in this paragraph is being stated for informational purposes only each individual should consult an attorney for specific advice concerning their specific situations. With that being said a couple other things they are not allowed to do which is outlined in the FDCPA it is illegal for them to call on Sundays in addition if you send them a cease and desist letter (make sure it is sent registered and certified United States Postal Service) even if you owe them money they can not continue contacting you in regards to the debt. Lastly in accordance with the FDCPA they cannot have more than one collection agency collect on the same exact debt, once the debt is transferred to a third party for collection the people who turned it over for collection may not call in regards to the debt. AGAIN I am not an attorney everything in this paragraph is being stated for informational purposes only each individual should consult an attorney for specific advice concerning their specific situations.

1-800-395-2274 called me.  Supposedly it is linked to HSBC.  Why they are calling me I don't know.  I have no connection with them.

    private number
repeated calls daily every hour starting at 7 am and ending at 10pm 7 days a week. When I answer it asks me to put my card number in.. when I call the number back it says card services enter your card number.  I think this could be considered harrassment.

I get repeated calls from this number and one other 800 number belonging to HSBC every day.
They have my home number, however, they only call my cell phone number.
I do not answer my cell phone for numbers I dont recognize when I am not in a "free" time frame. I'm not wasting my minutes!
I do have a card with HSBC, and I am sure that is what they are calling me about. They are the BIGGEST pain. They call and INSIST I make a payment over the phone. I did it once, however, they took their payment several times. I had to call the bank to get them to stop.
They refuse to set me up for online payments or to manage my account online. I cut my card up a year ago since I am trying to pay it off. Well since I dont have a number from the card, they will not let me make online payments.
    They are the absolute worst.
If anyone is considering opening a line of credit. Pick another company.
    They are IMPOSIBLE!

Re: 800-395-2274 I too keep getting calls from this number and they either don't leave a message or they hang up on me. Well, two can play the same game. I call the number and they ask for the last 4 digits of my account. I make up 4 numbers. Then they ask me for my full account number. I make up 16 digits. It's not recognized. Then they ask for my account number again. I make up 16 again and again it's not recognized. Then they transfer you to an operator (a woman with an accent). When she identifies herself and asks for an account number, I HANG UP! Two can play the same game, try it, it's fun!
