- FIA SUX| 1 replyHate them, closed the account. Ghetto customer service agents and don't know how to be scrupulous, refined people. Paid them off and closed the account today. Getting a card through my CREDIT UNION now. No wonder my Credit Union severed their ties with this *stupid* company!

- momchicagoHad BoA check to see if this number is theirs. It is not. Call the number on the back of your card.
- AmyI got a call from this number 1-800-427-2449 on 12/08/09 and I do not have a Bank of America card. I had a BofA savings account never a credit card about 5 years ago. They didn't even say my name just gave this phone number to call back and that there is suspicious activity on my credit card account. I'm afraid to call back. Not sure yet.
- NicoleActually got a call from 6787977000 telling me to call 18004272449.I got the call(let it go to voicemail) and figured I knew what it was about because I made a couple of big purchases within a couple days. Just to be sure, I went onto my BofA electronic banking account, and sure enough under my credit card it lists that there is a fraud protection hold on my account. I went to their website and they asked me questions only I would know the answer too, and the last 4 digits of my SSN (which doesn't do a scammer any good, anyway), and they had my recent transactions that I needed to verify. Took care of the whole thing without calling the number. It was legit for me.
- Caller: Bank of America
- SquantoThis is a legit call. They say B of A in the message, but the info was for my Visa card, so maybe there was a bank merger or something.

Soo upset with myself. got a letter today from Worldpoints Visa Signature/Bank of America stating they were trying to contact me regarding unusual activity on my visa card and to call 800 427 2449. I called right away as I do not have and/or used a Visa Signature card. I called and said I do not know anything about a visa signature card and to close the account immediately. I was then switched to 5 different people as I did not have the account number and I had to give them my SS# and date of birth in order for them to look up my account. Like a dummy, I gave them my personal info without thinking. After I hung up I realized what I did and immediately took the letter to the Bank of America branch to verify if it was legit. The bank employee looked at the letter and said it is legit. I asked him if the telephone number was from their fraud dept. and he said yes. He was no help at all because I cannot believe a bank employee would know the fraud dept. number by heart.
I know better next time not to give out personal info over the phone, legit or not.- Caller: Card Services

http://www.bankofamerica.com/creditcards/index.cfm?template=faq#ccs4 - sweatgot a call yesterday and then this am from BOA fraud services. Didnt realize it but my fia card is actually a BOA card. I didnt call the number they left but i did log in to my account online and could not access it. Called the number listed. My card had been used about 6 times in 1 day. Most charges were video game related. They verified my information, reversed the charges and closed that account. After I got off the phone I logged in to my account again and this time it came up. The last 4 digits of the card had already been changed and the charges reversed. Not a scam...glad they called!

- i_know replies to Mark| 9 repliesHey guys..I work in the BOA Fraud Department. & yes this is our number & no it doesn't match the number on the back of the card. If you ever recieve a call from our automated system & you don't feel confortable speaking with rep. just advise them that you would feel more confortable w/calling the number on the back of your card. They will completly understand. When you do call the number on the back of your card just ask for the fraud department. TRUST ME THIS IS NOT A FRAUDULENT NUMBER!!!! But anyways just thought I would put in my 2 cents..
- DukeI got a voicemail from this number for my Fidelity credit card. I just called the number on the back of my card, they did place a fraud alert on my card.
Banks and Card Services need to stop asking you to call their fraud department and direct you to the number on the back of the card, even if they get a hold of you. Just say "Hi I'm Susie Q from Card Services, we've placed a fraud alert on your account, please call the number on the back of your card and speak to a representative." - SomeGuy| 1 replyI received a call from this number last night and this morning. I do have a BOA card. I verified with the bank this is a legitimate number. I called it, and in fact, I had fraudulent charges on my account in Canada (I've never been to Canada).

- Becky| 1 replyGot a call from this number today. I hung up then called it back. Right off the bat they asked for the card number. I asked "don't you have that?" She said no. I asked her what bank she was calling from. She says "we work for different banks mam" . I said, "Oh, I understand, this is just a fraud." I knew it was a fraud before that because she asked "This is Bank of American, is this "my husband's name?" My husband has never had a credit card with Bank of America, ever ! You folks on here saying this is not a fraud are part of the fraud. Do not listen to to them ! They are trying any way they can to get your credit information.

- Not a customer| 1 replyI received a voicemail over the weekend, asking me to call "Card Services" at 1-800-427-2449 regarding suspicious activity on my credit card account. So, I called and was greeted with, "Thank you for holding, can we begin with your 16 digit credit card account number?" I responded by asking what company the guy I was speaking with represented and he stated "Card Services." I then asked him "what card?" He responded that he works for "a number of banks, including Bank of American, Visa, Mastercard and American Express." Total [***]. So, he gave me the "call the number on your credit card and they will connect you back with my department" line.
The voicemail I received was left on my business phone number. The only account associated with my work number has no card and cannot be used by anyone other than myself (and I have to go through several steps, just to be able to use it). So, I called my account's company and gave them a play-by-play of everything that had happened to that point. Then, I gave my account representative the number I was asked to call. She called and told the party who answered the company she worked for, to which the scammer replied "we have a contract with you." She basically called me back to tell me that they're phishing and I shouldn't give them any information. She also let me know that there's nothing wrong with my account.
Moral of the story: if 800-427-2449 calls you, challenge them and then notify your bank or credit card company. The company with whom I have an account is in the process of taking action against the possessors of this phone number -yours should, too.- Caller: "Credit Services"
