- darknight| 3 repliesCalled left no message - called number back what account info ??? what accounbt ???
- Caller: unknown
- bofa customer| 2 repliesYes, this is the number for BofA, if that is who called. I was making some Christmas purchases online & besides it coming from a BofA account, it also went through the extra security feature for the Visa Card(Verisign?). I did have to switch passcodes a couple of times, primarily because as I was purchasing, I remembered I just got a virus on my computer, so switched computers. The phone rang practically right after I was done online. When the phone rang, I recognized the number, however caller ID said: TO OPEN AN ACCT. I called BofA to see if they had any alert or flags on my account or reason to call and the CS rep said there was none. Hmmmm, pretty fishy to me. Looks like I've got a keylogging virus. I probably pissed them off when I changed the password so fast w/o them knowing.
- Caller: FORMAL NUMBER FOR B OF A
- smith| 1 replyI got an email supposedly from Bank of America saying checks had been ordered for my account. I have only a credit card with them - no checking or savings account. The email asked me to call the 432-1000 number, which I tried. It seemed very suspicious and asked for bank info, so I hung up and called a legit B of A number. I sent the email I got to abuse@bankofamerica.com
This is a scam to get your bank info. I am not sure about the phone number. Note that the email address they used was one I never give out, but could be captured from properties of my outgoing emails. - Phillip| 11 repliesyea this number is actually on the back of a Bank of America Card so it is safe
- Caller: Bank Of America
- gheena| 2 repliesthis is the the actual BOA telephone banking number (on back of card)... if you call and enter your telephone id and telephone pin (not debit pin), you'll be able to make transfers, check balances, report lost/stolen card and much more (it's basically a to-go version of online banking for those w/o smartphones)... plus, you can even speak with a customer service rep if necessary... just press 0.

- Catbird| 1 replyBe careful - the number is a legit Bank of America number, but the caller may be a scammer trying to get you to pick up the phone. On 11/12/09 I received a recorded message asking to confirm a change of address to my B of A account, leaving 1 800 432 1000 as the number to call back. I had not submitted any change of address request and promptly called B of A to ask what was up. The customer rep told me their records showed they had not made the call or left the message. He told me there are scammers who call people, claim to be from B of A, and then try to get account number information, PINs, etc., on the pretext of 'confirming' the information. The scammers' thinking may be that if they leave a legit number in a message, the next time they call the target will talk to them. The bottom line is, don't give any of this information over the phone unless it's in a call you dialled yourself.
- vmki got a call from 0000000000 and a recorded message asking to confirm the change of address to my BOFA account, leaving 1 800 432 1000 as the number to call back.this is some type of spam call when i reached BOFA customer support they have no idea who called me.
- Paul D RoseberryI have been called about 20 times looking for a Stacy Bowman. I do not know anyone by that name and have told the person calling this, but they keep calling. The person I have talked to is Simon Brown, but does not speak English well enough for me to understand. When I did not answer, he left a message about he was going to do something to my social security number. The call-back number he left was 347-432-9521. I have had this phone number about 3 months and do not want to change numbers to stop this caller.

- BR| 3 repliesThese people are emailing me saying my account is in jeapardy if I don't contact them immediately. The only problem I have is I DON"T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH B of A? Got this phone number from the bottom of the email in an obscure place and very hard to read iit. So BEWARE
- BR replies to smithPHONE NUMBERS can be hoaxed don't believe everything you see or hear. The way I see it If I had had an account with BoA and there was a problem with it that they would call me direct not thru a broadcast email

- roboed out replies to gheenaIf it is so safe why don't they leave a message like any other business or caller?
- roboed out replies to MeRead on me. A legitimate caller should leave a message or a call back number. When you get a fraudulent charge and question it all kinds get put in motion the least of which is a phone call with no ID
- roboed outHi its me. No it is no one.
- KipI would guess that this is a phone scammer who uses a false phone number as the ID. They have called several times over the last few months ... just like ALL of the other scammers do. When there is actually with a BoA account problem, BoA does leave a message, not like these bozos, who never do. there seems to be an endless amount of phone scams running these days ... and false phone ID's seem to be the latest trend.

- Harvey replies to Me| 2 repliesThe scammer is using BofA's number and it is a TOTAL scam!! Do NOT give them ANY numbers or you will be scammer out of your money! They call with blocked numbers and when I refused to answer after they tried with the 800 432-1000 #, they even called with my OWN CELL number! This is a VERY sophisticated operation and BofA security is working on trying to stop this scam, but when people get online (like you have done) and say this is legitimate, then the scammers will keep operating!
