Some collections agency called with wrong person.

I don't answer these numbers, as they are usually wrong numbers or scammers. No message left, so obviously one of those.

I called the number back, and it goes to a collections company named ERC.  I was able to "remove" my number by pressing 1 in the prompts then entering my phone number.

I want this number stopped from calling me at 8:00 a.m. in the morning

What I would like to know is how did they get my number? I haven't given my new cell number out to anyone. :[

You were probably assigned a recycled cell phone number that once belonged to whoever it is they are looking for. Let them know this the next time they call. If they continue calling, inform them they are violating the TCPA and FDCPA by robo-dialing your cell phone and harassing a non-debtor and you will take legal action against them if the calls do not stop.

Received several calls from this and various others. Unfortunately I have a rental company with the same acronym. My response efforty deadend in a robo answrerng  machine. Since I don't get paid to interact with this caller I let them call back till I can talk to a live person
I have discovered people with my similar bio data end up being yhe debtor or the debt is "OLD" by CREDIT BUREAU guidlines. If I get a human and they are calling from a known  credit collector I share my experience with them and guide them to get anithet (bettet) job. Complementing them on their Customer Service skills helps immensely. After all a 'human' operator is only doing their. -5 and in this econimy I all ror polly gaggling on the phone with irrevelant questions and filling up the individuals paid time THUS PUTTING THE DUMB COLLECTION COMPANY OUT OF BUSINESS!!

Wait for the prompt and you can enter your phone number so they will stop calling you, that is what I just did

I would NEVER call back just to enter my number in THEIR do not call list. Once prompted and you enter your number, they know there is a loving entity at that number.

I would also like to know how so many of these scammers get our cell phone numbers !?!?    My elderly mother is so scared to answer her phone because of being scammed again.  I have a lawyer on mine & they have been a great help !!

Don't block them because they will just use another number.   Let them keep harassing you then call a lawyer like I have done.  One of the creepy calls I get says I better call them back because I have a warrant  out for my arrest.  Lol.  I'm the most honest person , have no debt , & most of all have NEVER had a run in with law enforcement !!   I am using LembergLaw / Maria is my contact from their office   347-449-8898

Do not call

I get calls from this 800 number, an "Unknown" number, and a phone number out of Bloomington, Indiana.  The calls started four days ago and this 800 number joined them yesterday night.  They take turns calling me and on average I get 10 to 13 calls a day between the three of them.  It could be a coincidence, but I think they are related to each other.

I got my phone number earlier this year and I would get collection agencies calling all the time for the first few months looking for someone I've never heard of (probably the previous owner of my phone number).  Those calls finally stopped and I haven't had any calls like them until now.  I'm guessing this is more debt collectors, but I don't know for sure.  They never leave a message and the one time I picked up all I heard was hold music.

This number call on average 10-15 times per day. They are leaving messages saying I have fraudulent activity on my SS# and if I don't call them back a warrant will be issued for my arrest. It also threatened saying if I ignore the call let the chips fall where they may and I better call them back to prevent further legal action. The man that keeps calling has a very thick accent but has a different name each time he calls. It is seriously annoying. You are right they only keep calling from blocked numbers and even tried calling from the same area code that I live in and I ended up answering when I saw the call from my area code. I am getting very frustrated with these scammers. I don't know the name of the company that is calling all day every day.

They call daily, but my cell phone only rings once and then they are gone. Never leave a message - just want them to stop.

I was getting spam calls for a few weeks in late November to early December from this phone number and a couple of unknown ones and then they stopped calling.  This number called me again today, but my phone only rang once and they left no message.  Today is my birthday so I don't know if that has anything to do with them calling again or not.

Cell phone numbers get recycled. Meaning someone had it before you.

I too recieved a call today from this number. It only rang once and hung up. No message was left either.
