We screen all calls. We receive a call twice daily from 800-511-8670, once in the morning and again in the evening. We immediately erase them. It's obviously a blatant scam. Just how do we report this and to whom? However, there is comfort in knowing we're not alone with respect to this whatever one would call it!

I started getting phone calls  from 1-800-511-8670 several weeks ago, about once a week in the evening. As far as I know,I pay all my bills on time, so I decided not to call back. However,I really don't like those calls. Does anybody know how to stop them?

I just moved from out of state to PA, and just connected my new home phone number.  Shortly after, I've received 2 calls from this number for debt collection, but I know I'm not in debt.  I'm assuming I don't have to call this back, since both times it was a computerized voice message.

Got a call on my cell phone from this number, and I didn't answer it, since I didn't recognize the number. They left me a recordered voicemail that was cut off, so I didn't get the message. Definitely garbage spam.

These people are leaving messages on my 78 yr old mother's phone.  She knows she doesn't owe anyone anything but was uncertain what to do, but fortunately she has seen enough on phone scams targeting the elderly that she waited to talk to me before she did anything.  I told her not to call them back or if they called back to hang up on them.

call them and tell them to remove you. You have to provide your number. In my case they were looking for some lady that most likely owes lot of money, because since I got this voip (vonage) number I keep getting calls like this. She probably drop the line simply coz she herself was going crazy about the calls.
I called gave my number told them I don't owe anything. The guy told me they are looking for such and such and I said I don't know her. that was all.

AT&T installed a new home phone line three months ago (614 area code). I signed it up at donnotcall.gov almost immediately.
I got calls from 800-511-8670 at least once a week for the past three months. I called the number last week and was connected with an operator. I told her I wanted to be removed from their list. She told me they were a debt collection agency and not a telemarketer, they mentioned two names that had my phone number registered for a debt they had on file. I told them those two people did not live here and this was a new phone line.
She said she's removed my number from their records and I have not got any calls from them for the past week.

This happened to me when I was 16. A collection agency kept calling my house and telling my step-mom that I had a seriously overdue amount on my Fashion Bug credit card. I had no credit of any kind at the time. We actually had to go through quite a mess to get it fixed. This company actually put it on a credit record!! If you come back and read this-You may want to see if a credit report has been established in your daugter's name.

Calling a 16 year old's cell phone saying they are collection agency and for him to call them back.  Message said all information given when return call made would be used to collect the "unknown" debt he owes.

Got a new cell phone and as soon as I programmed it, had 2 voicemails from them.  They called 3 more times over the next 2 days.  I called the 800 511 8670 number, gave the person that answered the phone, my new number and told him I wasnt sure why they were calling.  He said "your number is removed" and hung up.

I just got this phone number 2 weeks ago and they have called several times and left a voicemail. Once it was a voicemail for me to call another number and when I called the number it instructed me to sign up for a $10 a month service. No way! They are obviously calling for whoever had the phone number before me, if this company is even legit. I have no debts, and all my bills that I have now are all up to date.

yeah, i've been getting calls from this number for about a month now, they're "here to collect a debt."
i owe NOBODY ANYTHING. period dot end. And how official is a PHONE CALL to collect a debt anyways? I wouldnt
give money to the PRESIDENT over the phone.
IF the FCC or BBB have been contacted it will take months for anything to happen.

im almost finished writing an automated text-sending prog. that will send this number ALOT of messages in hopes of
getting my number off their list. :)

I started getting calls not to long after I purchased this cell phone saying that are a collection agency. I have not talked with anyone because it is always a recorded message stating that I need to call them back and they give me a reference number to give them when I return their call. I don't owe them or anyone else. That's why I looked on the internet to maybe find out who is calling since they never left the name of the company they were representing. I wish I could block their calls because it is becoming annoying. I'm in agreement, I think it's a scam.

Keep getting a call from NCO which use an automated pre-recorderd voice msg. regarding a outstanding debt.  They leave a call back number to call 800-511-8676.  I called out of curriostiy since I do not owne anyone anything.  The number is disconected.  Not sure who these guys are or want since I never get a live person just that prerecorded stuff.

NCO keeps calling me as early as 8:00 am with an automated voice message with a lady with a British accent calling to "collect a debt."  I don't owe any credit cards any money.  I have some student loans that I'm working on, but they are all in good standing.
I called the 1800 number back to ask them to stop calling.  It turns out they were looking to collect debt for a guy that I've never met nor heard of.  They apologized and stated that they had the wrong number.  I'm crossing my fingers that the calls stop.
