- Donna replies to AmEx cardholderI just received two calls from that number this morning. I don't answer if I don't know the number. No voicemail left. Figured it was a scam.
- Jack in Ann ArborI got a text message that was allegedly an AmEx fraud alert. Had a link supposedly to the above phone number. Clearly a phishing scheme.

- CheyenneA| 1 replyMy card was hit with fraudulent charges. I didn't answer call however, called American Express directly. This was a valid call. I won't be blocking this number as it is legit.

- fedupI received a call from that # this morning. Didn't pick up. I see from numerous posts that this is American Express. We have never had an American Express account, so I question the validity of the caller. Blocked.
As an FYI, when we have experienced fraudulent charges on our credit card accounts in the past, we receive voice mails on both house and cell phones, as well as a text message.- Caller: Am Ex ?

- nytemare4u replies to CheyenneAIt is a scam call. I don't have Amex and they called saying my card has been deactivated.
- AriaJust had this number call. I don’t have & never have had an American Express card. Will be letting them know that scammers are now targeting them.

- JakPicked up only because I was expecting a business call, and my caller ID didn’t identify it. Man on other side said my AmEx card was showing suspicious activity and they were deactivating card. Started to press me for info, I asked him to send email with specifics. He said they can’t do that, and to use the phone number to verify his identity. That’s when I had enough and hung up. Will probably get a gazillion calls now.

- KenFake Amex fraud support. Tricked me into giving info then charge over $1000 on my card. Luckily I figured out what was going on half way through the call and call the real Amex fraud number and they were able to stop the charges.

- Cecily M.Oh hello, sorry about that, this is Alejandra with the "amount'....at that point she hung because she screwed up her script. HAHAHAHAHA. What a joke. Do not give these people any information about yourself.

- JOmanA robocall from UN-known - automated American Express phishing scam - A search shows this number to be a toll free number. They keep calling using a different new number after being told to remove my number from their call list and blocked.

- Emily K.called; left no voice mail; blocked number
- RonCalled twice without leaving a voicemail. Real AMEX would leave a voicemail about why they’re calling.

- TemeculaDebt collector! I am not sure if they actually affiliated with AMEX

- JulioCalled our landline on a Sunday morning! Robot said, " This is an important message from American Express for Julio Fellini. Is this Julio Fellini? Please press 1 for yes..." I said - as if it could hear me - "I do not talk to robots" and hung up. Caller ID said "Toll Free". I've had an American Express account for nearly 50 years, and I've, on occasion, received calls from Amex. The caller ID always says "American Express", and the caller has always been a live human. I do not believe this call came from the real Amex; I believe it was a scammer, probably looking to get an account #.
- Caller: "Toll Free"
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Jen replies to ShermamomaIt's definitely not Amex doing that. It's for sure spam.
- JenIt's definitely not Amex doing that. It's for sure spam. I got a text message from them too and it screams spam!

- Sam ChichesterScam call. Asking for CREDIT CARD information and bank information
- Caller: American Express
- migwarSounds to me like this is a legitimate Amex number that is being spoofed by scammers. If you dial it, you will probably reach American Express, but if you receive a call FROM this number, don't trust it because it may be a scammer who is spoofing the number. Always call the number on the back of your card, period.
- Caller: fake Amex
- Mark replies to ToddCalled Amex, they said it is not them it os a fishing scam
