I love the one posted above about moving out of the country. That would definitely get you some relief and  it's making e seriously think about moving to the Bahamas.

So that makes it bad advice?  Good luck using your method.  Let us know how it turns out.  Or are simply one of those "do as I say not do as I do" people?

Do NOT call these people back and do not answer your phone if you don't know the number!

Now CTI Collection Technology (collectors) is calling and leaving messages pretending it is " to lower your credit card interest rate" or " you have qualified for a free home security system." I never called them back because I already KNOW that trick.

This collection agency trick is that they call you and act as if they are offering you something, then they want you to call back and give them your information " to be removed" from the list, supposedly. Then they bother you mercilessly if you give them your information. Don't give them anything and don't confirm anything. DO NOT cal them back.

Report the to your State Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Trust me - even if you are NOT the person they are trying to call, they will still keep calling you and bothering you because they just want to bother someone. Take action against them.

They robocall constantly, call and hang up leaving no message, or call and leave stupid messages saying they want to lower the interest rate on my credit card or give me a free home security system. Yeah, sure. Jerks.

Report this bottom-feeder collector to the Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau immediately. Here is another game they may try to play when they call you

Acting as pretexts -  Pretexters get people’s personal information illegally, using false pretenses. A pretexter might call you and say he’s from a survey firm. He might ask you some questions to elicit basic personal information. When the pretexter has enough information, he calls your financial institution and pretends to be you or someone who is authorized to access your account. He gets more personal information from the bank so he can try to access our accounts.

These complete idiots will call you up and play games acting as if they are your bank and say there was a fraudulent transaction placed on your account and they need to verify your account information. Don't DO it - and don't talk to them at all. It's a scam so they can try to get your bank account information and deduct money from it. Report them as indicated above! BLOCK all calls except from people you know

It's a collection agency hired by the government to collect on student loans. They do not need to go to court to garnish your wages or tax refund. The debt is not canceled until you die. Unlike credit cards that have a # of year limit before they cannot be collected.
look up myeddebt.gov they will list if you have any loans, how much you owe, and which collection agency they assigned you to.

Got a call, but they didn't leave a message. I'm still in school so haven't had to repay a cent of my student loans yet. They have absolutely no reason to be calling me.

I have been getting phone calls from this number for both a student loan in which I am currently paying on and my cell phone bill in which I notified my service provider and they say I am up to day on all information. These people are unprofessional as the last call I got was a girl giggling the entire time. So NO, I will not be calling them back or paying anything and will report them to the authorities if they continue calling.
