I just received a call from a guy with a heavy indian accent who asked if I was near my computer after telling me that my computer was being infected. I just played along and kept telling him I couldn't understand him to well and was only able to make out that he said something about how he likes curry.

Damn, I accidentally answered this while picking up my phone.  Told them I didn't have a windows computer and hung up while he was insisting I was in the windows data base... Call blocked but now they know the number is valid.   :-/

They're spoofing caller ID and it's illegal, to begin with! Pretending to be Microsoft technical support. I've not called them nor do I have any need for them to call me. They call at times and don't say anything too! I've been called by these Microsoft scammers with an Indian accent before and was abused verbally when he found out I was on to his scheme!

Total scam Call. Stated they reveived a signal from my computer indicating i had a virus.  1st off, i havent authorized them to monitor my pc, and have no software that would send a signal to them.  If such a program did exist, likely a virus they created.  Unlikely, just saying.  Pcs dont just send signals to random companies.

hi don - only legitimate organizations adhere to the DNC list. I get so many of these scam calls that I have dozens and dozens of phone numbers blocked. It's the only recourse. It's like you can't even answer your own phone anymore.

Received a call from "Michael" (with a clear Indian accent) stating that he was from Microsoft Windows and he has evidence that people from other countries are attempting to hack into my computer via my IP address and email address. When I asked him what information he has in front of him that shows him this (the evidence) - he provided my email address. He then states he needs my IP address so he can 'walk me through the steps to fix this issue' - when I told him I wasn't at home and near my computer, he says, "oh..." then hangs up.
