This number called me today and a search showed that 800-642-7676 is a Microsoft number. Came here to check and found 42 PAGES of complainypts going back 7 years! Probably a good idea to check for this number on credit card ststemenrpts since so many people have been billed for nothing.  Dirtbags.

I NEVER answer calls from numbers I do not know.  Obviously they had nothing important to say as no message was left.

What astounds me is that this number is still being absconded to scam people -- if it's still being used by Microsoft, that is.

My research indicates that although this was probably a legit number for Microsoft, it has been used to scam folks. They leave no message and I will be sure to block them next time.

Caller Id identifies this number on my phone as Booker T. Washington Middle School out of Newport News, VA, however, it is actually a scam caller from Mircrosoft.  If they were legit why would someone else's caller id show up?

Not Microsoft, scammers pretending to be Microsoft. (We’ll call them “Microshaft”.)  The “something is wrong with your computer” callers (at least there will be if you fall for our scam) so please get out your credit card so you can give us hundreds of dollars to pretend like we are fixing your computer.  Enjoy the free malware included at no extra charge!

called on my mobile phone, it showed up as "unknown", every single unknown numbers calls that comes thru on my cell, I immediately block!  I never answer, well Im deaf anyway, only get texts, from people I know.  Lucky me!
If I get a voice mail, I let someone listen in, but most of them are not worth the trouble, so used to getting all these scam calls, it takes to you a point, where we get so annoyed, dont bother to pick up and then block.  Dont have Microsoft anyway!   Cant believe this number still in use from over 10 yrs ago!

    I've had lots
of phony "Microsoft" calls from India before.  This number is new to me.

Some babbling fool from Mumbai told me he needed to do a shared session with him on my computer.

Just had the "phony Microsoft call".. I told the idiot "to verify you are who you say you are, please provide the current OS build number on my computer. If you're really from tech support, you'll know it".. Clown tried to rattle off a nonsense hexadecimal number.. "WRONG!" <click!>.. If I'd had more time, I'd have put him through some more time wasting machinations.. There are times when it's fun to be an [***]!
