On 12/28/2017 at 11:03 am my cell phone received a call from 800-669-8488 and there was no one on the other line. I hung up after 6 secs and saved the number in my contact list. I redialed it later and got a recording reportedly from "Sears Credit Card Services" asking me to say or enter my account number. I haven't used a Sears card in close to 10 years. Then the recording repeatedly asked me to say or enter the primary card holders nine digit social security number. Instead I said, "SCAMMER", "SPOOFER", "FCC" and the call was quickly transferred to a man speaking perfect English. He answered saying, "Ya, thanks for calling Sears credit services". "My name is Tim". "I'm located in North Carolina and may I have your Sears credit card number please?" I told him that I didn't have a Sears card and wondered why I am getting calls. He said that it sounds like someone is calling pretending to be Sears. I find it odd that Sears or anybody in their right mind would ask you for your nine digit SS # over the phone.

On the 3rd call I got from them I answered and got a robodialer. It claimed to be from a credit finance company and promised to lower my APR. So I talked pressed 1 to see what kind of scammer I was dealing with and got a gentlemen with a thick Indian accent who I've probably talked to back when the Microsoft Windows phishing scam was still going. I asked him which of my cards he was calling about. He got flustered and hung up after straight up called him a scammer.

Comes up as Sears credit card.  We don't shop at Sears and haven't for at least 40 yrs.  Can't imagine anyone wanting a credit card from them.  Assuming this is really Sears, would they stoop this low as to harass people with phone calls?

Bless your heart!  Can I blow a whistle in their ear?  If I do, will  I get in trouble?  What the hell.  It would be worth it to put as many of the degenerates out of business.
