- San Diego replies to AndySO true! It's ridiculous the stunts that these people have pulled - calling a client and pretending to be a business associate in order to get personal information? First it's unprofessional, but it also seems illegal to me!
- ROGER replies to sol kesslar| 5 repliesActually they took my taxes and garnished my pay check so don't listen to this moron saying they can't do anything
- Maria replies to deleted post| 1 replyI fouond out that if your student loan is through a private state bank they can resell your loan to another bank and if you try to pay it off you hae to pay 1300 to the original bank to buy it back....my student loan payback went from 5000 to 6300 in 5 minutes. So don't be fooled by the government and what they can dor cannot do!!!
- k replies to ROGERyeah and with almost 100% interest. No wonder Obamas changing the rules on student loans. Delta amnagement is being sued by a class action lawsuit for this reason.
- AliciaCalled claiming I had a past due student loan and that I lived in Jasper Texas... never have been there... had wrong contact information and I asked them to remove me from their data base... they wanted me to verifiy I wasn't who they said I was by giving them my social... not stupid! Don't fall for it.

- AC| 6 repliesThank you Barack Obama. I bet most people do not know that the the federal government pays 97% to the student loan originator if a person defaults on their student loans through tax payers money. The companies then sell this debt to another company like Delta Management who then adds 25% to your principal balance after paying a default claim. They act like they paid for your college education, but they are nothing more than desktop pawns who profits when somebody messes up. The end result you could end up paying double or triple what your college loan ended up. That is why they call this the student loan scam because everybody profits from student loans(the federal government-using tax payer money, the creditor who receives .97 cents on the dollar by issuing Federal Guaranteed Loans, and collection agencies that profit after the original creditor has been paid. It will be funny when the days comes when middleman scumbags that Delta Management employs are laid off, or fired and then are on the opposite end of collection calls for not playing their bills. Karma is a #####, and I hope they are treated like their former clients that experienced hardships.

- NOFREERIDE replies to the evil debt collector| 3 repliesYou people that honestly have a student loan in default. sicken me. Some of us actually pay our student loans. I took 2 jobs to keep mine in good standings. And to sit there bragging the goverment paid your loan, Is even more shamefull.. We paid your loan! And our future chldren wont have the abilty to get funding or grants to further thier education, because of Morons like you! Pay your debt and stop bragging about how you can beat the system. I hate a bill collector as much as the next person. But at least they are working! Not sitting there bragging about how to avoid responsibility! I went on this page because I got a call from 800. for a bank account I was a comaker for my son. And when I realized what he did I hauled his ass to the bank to straighten it out. Thats the right thing to do. So if a 16 yr old kid can make right what he did wrong.. Maybe you bunch of system dwellers should try the same.
- kissmytaxes replies to ACI go with you on that one.. I have been dealing with this company for well over a year.. and they are garnishing 15% of my gross income. And I pay monthly on a rehab program so that they don't take my taxes again this year.. Don't be fooled that they can't get their money one way or another.. I'm living proof. Sometimes I call I get an [***] on the phone. Sometimes I call I get lucky. Karma Delta Karma
- MRSDELTA replies to AC| 4 repliesCORRECTION.. ITS 18% ...And honestly by the time you defaulted student loan hits the collection company... You have been ignoring your debt for well over a year. Not like its any big surprise eventually if you ignore it long enough its going to a collection agency.. And when you are a debtor and someone calls you wanting you to man up.. What are you honestly expecting.. Hello Mr Deadbeat.. We were calling to see if you feel like paying something on your federal loan.. You know .. the one that assured you a decent job.. with a decent salary.. (that is of course .. if you utilized your education wisely & from reading some of these post i doubt it) . Oh Mr or Mrs Deadbeat .. whats that you cant pay it? Oh well let me just walk around the office with a can and see if we can help you.. LOL... Get serious. Blame the goverment.. Blame your school. Blame your teacher.. Amazing how you can point your finger at everyone. but the person who forgot to repay thier student loan.. Perhaps next time you apply for schooling read the fine print on the document you signed... You allowed this.. OH but what ever you do ... Dont blame your local Bill Collector.. we pay for our schooling.
- LOL replies to RichYou didnt need the collector to tell you which student loan you were avoiding . you already knew. And maybe if you filled the proper goverment paperwork out to get your free ride. No one would be calling your house.. The Korean War... first off I would like to thank you for serving our country! And the right to continue to practice the freedom of speech. So enjoy the right to bash the working people .. youv'e earned it.
- LOL replies to KimYou assuming you student loan is in deferment... hmmm And what is it they say about people whom assume? .. why not call the Dept of Ed and see exactally what status your loan is in.. Or better yet why don't you wait til its time to file your "FEDERAL TAXES" and someone shows you what status its in. Ass u me
- Fred replies to MRSDELTAIt might be our debt, but there are genuine people who did not know about, I did not realize I took out two loans, I have been faithfully paying Sallie Mae every month. Why would I pay one not the other. The part I am complaining about is that i do not deserve to be treated like a moron or called names, I was telling the man I would start making payments, but they wanted my bank account information IMMEDIATELY! I was not going to give them that info OR make a huge lump payment. I asked for him to send me a bill with the agreed amount and a copy of the original paperwork (so that I kjnow that the debt is valid) and I will gladly start making payments to settle the debt. He told me I was stalling because that was what I do best and he REFUSED to send me a bill and the original paperwork. I am not sure what to do right now.....If it is a valid debt I want to start paying it off, but I don't want to be scammed or deal with this NASTY NASTY man. And for the record I called THEM back, twice so I was obviously trying to figure out what was going on. Does that give you the right to call my cell, my job, my mom, my mother in law, and my friend 12 times a day? I literally have it saved on my phone every single hour they called me today and tuesday?
- A.C replies to MRSDELTAYou fail to address that when a borrower defaults that the original creditor was already paid .97 on the dollar for issuing this federally guaranteed loans. You act like everybody is a deadbeat and you need a reality check and A.C is here to provide it in case you are too dumb or ignorant to understand. How come I can get a discharge via bankruptcy from running up credit card debt, foreclosuring on my home, or auto loan, however student loans are not dischargable in court in most cases except permanent injury. How are student loans any different? I am sure you are aware that in 1998 as a result of the Higher Education Act student loans even ones not guaranteed by the federal government became non dischargable in bankruptcy. So to sum it up a 1) a borrower or as you call them a deadbeat defaults 2) the original creditor receives .97 on the dollar using taxpayers money(unlike mortgage lenders or Credit Card issuers) 3) It get sends to a collection agency who then tacks on 25% to the principal plus collection cost that results in a borrower paying double or quadruple for their education 4) The harassing calls begin for outragious amount that people can not afford soon followed by threats of wage garnishment 5) They offer you rehabilitation like they are doing you a favor, but that amount is usually significantly higher than your previous student loan payment you defaulted on because they receive commission.6) They fail to inform you that in order to complete rehabilitation a borrower has to be found to complete the program after you 9 timely payments-if they find no borrower you could be back where you started in default again and asked to complete the rehabilitation again. Sounds like a scam where everybody gets paid(with taxpayer money) and the final slice goes to collection agencies.
Why should ones misfortune after defaulting on student loans rake in billions for the Sallie Mae's of the world. Why does the government just not garnish my wages after I default? How come collection agencies act like they paid for your education when they harass you and call you 12 times a day? Why do they not tell you that you can consolidate defaulted student loans using Direct Loans? Why are collection amounts Delta Management request higher than the Income Contingent Program used by the federal government based on income not ones commission goals? I hope you realize by now that everybody..I mean everybody gets paid when you default all the way down to the losers that"Pay for their Education" and are not running the company, but answering phones and are nothing more than glorified Avon ladies backed by the federal government. - Kevin GriffithsThese people somehow got my employer's secure phone number from somewhere. I owe nothing and they are nasty when confronted. Suspicious how they can find that number but not a home number. These people are the scum of the earth and will stop at nothing.

Stop calling my mother now! I will not answer a dirty debt collector!- Caller: unknown
- A.C replies to melissaHopefully Melissa you did not fall for their rehabilitation scam that they always try to entice you with the promise of removing negative items from your credit report because thats not completely true. I wish you would not have given them your bank account information because if no lender is found to complete rehab they will ask you to complete the program again which would be a gamble on your part...I would call Direct Consolidation Loans immediately(1-800-557-7392) and request an application . I know because it happened to me and I am out of default and my payment went from 345 to 175. To be eligible to return to school and receve Title 9 student aid...all you have to do is make 6 timely payments. After you make those 6 payments you should be eligible for flexible payments arrangements and deferments DM will not give you.
