- marie replies to brokeassI am currently on ssi and am applying for a disability discharge. Someone from Delta Management said my benefits can be garnished, so i would have to live on 600 a month. According to an attorney, ssi cannot be garnished.

- christina replies to Randy| 1 replyI want to also file a complaint against them. I live in Florida. How do I go about doing that? I never got a notice from them, and my loans are still in deferment. Now they somehow got my number for my job and have been hassling me there. It needs to stop!
- Alfalfa replies to christinaAsk the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

- Jessica BugbeeThey have been calling and harassing my elderly grandparents and I'll mother..

- CarrieLeeI'd like to add here that I did keep my loans in deferment as I continued in in school, whole working full-time. ASA turned to Delta to assist getting my loans paid, as in default. The assumption that we just do not pay is not a fair assumption, as Life happens.
Delta made these consolidated income based automatic withdrawal out of my checking account, with the agreement I will then get myself back in track intending to ask for forgiveness after ten yrs regular repayment plan.
Delta called me in November stating I had missed October's payment, now having to start the process over. I explained I could not have missed it, as I have automatic overdraft protection on my account.
The representative became arrogant stating that was not true, I need to submit a new financial aid package for reassessment.
I lost all trust.
I am at a loss.
Please advise as attaching my pay stubs is coming and I feel I do not want to do business with Delta period. I'd like a new financial officer.

- ChristineI received a call from this 603-637-2694 on my caller id. I do not answer numbers I do not know. Listened to my voicemail and it was some woman who mumbled her way through her script "something something this is Kiara. Please call me back at 800-688-6337 ext 2694". I know my student loan is in default (378 days). I literally sent in the paperwork requested to help my situation last week. I was going to give it until friday to call ASA (SALT?) to see what my options are. Not sure what my next step will be.
- UnavailableA woman called me today from this number and referred to me by my maiden name and I have been married for more than a decade! She didn't identify herself and tried to get my birth date. I just hung up. I never deal with anybody that tries to take my personal information without identifying themselves as well as the company. So I am unavailable. I suggest you all make yourselves the same. Do not allow their evil intentions to ruin your day. Just hang up and keep moving forward. Only speak with reputable businesses and NEVER give out your personal info to a pure stranger/suspect company...especially otp! My identity has been stolen already and I am still dealing with that. So note...IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

- AnonymousThis is utter nonsense, they called and left a message for a person who doesn’t exist. I immediately looked online to figure out who this person is, and everyone is siting student loans. I have none and I have no debt that would be in collections. This is a complete scam.

- backtoreality replies to NOFREERIDEproblem with all this - student loans have gotten to the point where people graduate with more debt than they will ever be able to pay even with a high paying job. Not just $20k or $30k in student loans, but over $100k in student loans. stop being pissed at people who were given loans that they would never be able to pay off when they were 18 and not experienced enough to understand how financing works. be pissed at the colleges who charge an obscene amount of money for kids to get an education in a field that's already over saturated. be pissed at our culture of undervaluing trade jobs, and the idea that you can't get a decent job without going to college. be pissed at the laws that allowed this BS to even happen. just because you were able to pay off your loans, don't think everyone is in as good a position as you. most of us got screwed when we were too young to realize it, and now we can't get out of it, no matter what we do.
- Fed UpThis man Philip Rivers called from a 312# but left the message to call 800.688.6337. He didn’t state what company he was calling from or the nature of his call, he used my former last name, and said he expected to receive a return call. My student loan paid in full and I have the payoff letter to prove it
