- AdamBeen getting calls from these people for a couple of weeks now. I typically don't answer calls from number I don't recognize (I figure that if it's something important, they'll leave a message. The calls have been kind of sporadic, maybe one every two to four days.
This morning, they finally left a message marked as "urgent" and requested to speak to Rick or Pam B., who are my parents. I called back at the number he left (866 614 7500 ext. 4084) and left him a voicemail (about ten minutes after he left me one) informing him that he is calling the wrong number.
I can't imagine what they would want with my parents, they've been divorced for two years now and were separated for about two or three years before that. We'll see if they call back. - RKReceived a message on answ machine from a Mark stating he was an attorney and needed to speak with myself and my ex-girlfriend regarding a law suit we are both involved in. Very serious and scary! Then they left another message saying that they needed to hear from our attorney. Today I called back and when they answered as Creditors Exchange I asked what kind of business this was, and was told it was a credit recovery co. I stated I recvd a call from an Attorney at this # regarding a suit, I was told they have no attorneys. I hung up, and then recvd a call back and the message said since you hung up we are considering that you do not want to cooperate in the law suit. I then called back and was told that Mark was out of the office (yet he just called). Spoke to another guy Walter Prescot who stated he was the actual attorney and that the other guy/persons their are just paralegals. He was very rude and swore on the phone, when I asked since when do attorneys use such language he stated "I swore because I am upset with you and your lies" I did not lie, and he was the one that would not cooperate. He hung up on me. I called back and was told that I owe money, when I explained I had no money because of some hard times including my ex being permanently disabled, etc. He then started naming off bills that I have been paying on time, including my mortgage and phone bill, etc. The strange thing is that the phone is in my mothers name and she has been helping me out and paying my bills. So how does this guy know my credit history, and all my current info?? Is is legal for them to run a credit report without my approval??? He made several threats from going to jail, to taking my wages (which I have non I am not working) to paying over $30 thousand in his attorneys fees etc. for a 4 thou bill. This is a very short version of the abuse and threats. When I tried to explain that I was able to pay some things by selling off things I owned and living off my mothers help he stated I was lieing, didn't want to hear it and hung up on me. Now I am reading all this stuff about this company and it sounds as if he was not really an attorney. Also my ex has nothing to do with this bill, and I have no clue how he would no my ex girlfriends name from Colorado, when I have been in Arizona for some time. What should I do???

- jodon5I have started receiving phone calls from this number and decided to look it up. I haven't a clue as to why they should calling since I don't own anyone any debts. After reading all about these people I don't think that I will call them at all. They usually call about the same time every day and I am at work.

- blazThis company has gone too far. They keep calling me stating I owe debit and has yet to proof it. I've asked several times to send me proof and have yet to get any information. How can I issue a complaint?
- McGsome brent/bret called me insulted me and wanted to speak to some girl, told him he had wrong number, kept insulting me. i at that moment thought it was some dude asking for his girlfriend/wife. told him his GF or [***] isnt at my house ,then called me more names and hungup. I called over there, same person answered, told him i wanted to speak to his manager, he said he was the manager. Obviously he is lying. i will deal with him with my attorney. I also asked this "manager" to take my name off the list and not to call again, he said "i am the manager i dont call people" and hungup.

- PenelopeI got a call today as well... The woman stated that she was calling in regards to my delinquent Advanta account. I immediately informed her that my impression with Advanta is that they are a bunch of idiots. My attorney has sent them letters stating that I have filed bankruptcy and they are not allowed to contact me. She then asked what was taking so long. I said "how should I know"? and she said bankruptcies don't take months to complete. I stated that everything she needed to know was in the letter from my atty and he says I am not even supposed to be discussing this with anyone. She said "it's the least you can do since you charged up all this debt...", so I said "goodbye" and hung up. I know enough about the fair debt collections practices act to know that they are NOT allowed to comment about your spending/charging habits, and they are NOT allowed to threaten legal action unless such action is actually being started. I refuse to be intimidated by these hairy goons and I suggest everyone else grow a backbone as well. If someone is planning to sue you, they have to go to court in the county in which the debt was created. I seriously doubt they are prepared to do so - especially since they purchased your account from your original creditor for pennies on the dollar.

I picked up and told her that he doesn't live here, nor does he work for us. She went on to say "that this was his work number & doesn't he own the company"? To which I replied "How can he own it if it's father & son and it's not his name?" I further told her to remove our number from her calling list and hung up as she was saying mam please. She called right back, but this time didn't leave a message. Calling here on a SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm beyond mad.
- gtk| 1 replyI got a call from this number from a somewhat sarcastic woman -I think she said her name was Elizabeth or Beth- concerning a debt I have attempted to negotiate with Bank of America. She threatened legal action concerning my home. Her call intended to continue on from where Louis Carranza of Creditors Interchange left off- threats, intimidation, unsolicited legal "advice", financial "counseling".

- gtkI got a call from Louis Carranza of Creditors Interchange - AGAIN - concerning a debt I have attempted to negotiate with Bank of America. Last week when he called he said "this is your last chance," after which he called my 87 year old mother and complained to her that I was rude to him on the phone. Today, he again threatened legal action to collect the debt. It was more of the same, threats, intimidation, unsolicited legal "advice", financial "counseling." He offered me a debt settlement if I pay in full, but refused to contact Gredit Guard to arrange payment terms. I told him to send me information about the claim, including a letter of agent from BOA. I suggested that take me to court to seek a settlement. I advised him that in court I would produce documentation of all the good faith efforts I had made to settle the claim through Credit Guard. (I will also produce the reports of harassment recorded here.) Then, I hung up on him.

- cinteresting what everyone is saying here. i have not answered when they called me. they called twice, then left a message in spanish. i don't have any spanish roots, so i'm guessing they just have the wrong number, but still annoying that theyre calling me!
- KW replies to THRIDPARTYYou can tell whatever you want but be very aware. THEY DONT CARE. All they want to hear from you is how much you are authorizing them to take out of your checking account. You absolutly have to write them a quick letter telling them to never ever contact you again for any reason. Mail it to them using the good old Post Office by registered mail. Google Creditors Interchange for full info on this seemingly crack addicted company.
- KWMr Nuchereno calls me from Creditors Interchange. Threatens to attach my 92 year old mothers assets. Said it was his unfortunate duty to inform me that my account is slated for immediate prosecution. Bunk! Call back number is 800-545-2638 (different than where he called from)
Just googled creditors interchange. Be careful boys and girls! Many thousands of complaints, lawsuits filed against them, the worst BBB ratings possible, sanctions from many state AG's and tons of references of them stating 2 or 3 times the amount actually owed as they did with me. Further, theres many statements of debtors paying a lot of money to creditors interchange and that money never being applied to the debt. Simply get their address, write them a short note to never contact you again for any reason. Be sure to give your name and ci reference number. Go to the Post Office, spend a few bucks to require a signature for delivery. One more call is all they're allowed then they can only contact you by mail. Its Federal law and if your smart and keep track of everything they say and do (record them if you feel the urge), you might easily cause them to pay off your debt for you! Their Penalty for screwing up and violating ANY part of the Fair Debt Collections Act. Check it out! Valid in all 50 states!- Caller: Creditors Interchange

- AceGot a call from CI back on New Years Eve. I had just finished a fiscal report doing a conference call half way around the world when my wife calls me frantically stating that someone from "the bank" called and stated that we had defaulted and being pushed to collections. As odd as this seemed, I had to call and make absolutely sure we were all on the same page. Some guy named Richard (claimed he was a rep from the bank) left a message stating that I owed back payments totaling almost $100k since 2005! WTF; is this guy for real? I've only lived in the house for 16 months! He goes on and on about me contacting my attorney and getting him to speak with "the banks" legal counsel to settle the matter. Not a problem... I call my lawyer on New Years Eve to let him know of my "good" news, and he flips his lid. Instantly my lawyer wanted to know exactly what I said, and when the call transpired... and explained that I should NOT speak to the individual directly and ignore the future calls. A few calls are made to the legal and fraud departments of my bank, and they are absolutely clueless as to what is going on, and no one is able to get any straight answers from Richard. After about 4 months or so, Richard calls back (this time my cell phone) and states that he is sending me documents via certified mail to review with my attorney and that "the bank" will proceed with legal action and garnish my wages. Unbelievable.. these people are @$$holes! The documents that showed up was a credit app that I filed with a different bank back from 2002, and was rejected due to credit history and lack of personal assets. But what got me was that Richard had a credit app with my drivers license number, my SS# and my 2 previous addresses. This guy had enough of my information, (and maybe a lot of other peoples) very important data, and could possibly be the guy stealing my identity. At the current state my lawyer is working with both fraud and legal departments of both banks to see how this happend, and how my application is floating around outside of the bank. Now I am on the fraud victim list for Experian and have to pull my credit report every 3 months. Be very very careful when dealing with these people, and if you have the resources please have some legal ones available. Always put things in writing, certified mail, ask for any and all documents on official company letterhead, legal contacts of the 1st party creditor, promissory notes etc. Don't let just an application get you to fall to these people... signed applications are nothing, neither is an acceptance letter. Unless there is a promissory note fully executed by both parties, then you are not liable for the debt.

- DebbyI have received calls from this number that left me scared, intimidated and in tears. This woman has continued to call me cell phone on a daily basis (she apparently works 7 days a week??) multiple times a day. I don't answer them anymore after being advised that this woman "Cheryl" is just a collection agent who probably works on commission. But she continues to call and leave harassing/intimidating/threatening messages. Times are tough, I work part-time (TRYING to find full-time,I JUST graduated college in May 2009,its bad out there.)My debt is being handled through an outside agency. I decided to do a little googling of the phone number and came across all these discussion boards about this phone number and company.
Thanks everyone for sharing!!! I feel SO much better then I did before- Call type: Debt collector
