I keep getting calls from 800-695-6950. When I answer they hang up, when I let my machine pick up they never leave a message. 5-6 calls everyday including Sunday. They are calling my business number. I finally had enough and had my phone carrier block the number. They must have a wrong number because I owe no money on any loan or credit card. Idiots!

Got a call this morning around 11:30. The person that called apparently didnt now that he was still on the voicemail recording. He said something like "He's playing (inaudible) games. They're gonna get you one way or the other" I have it saved. I'm calling the FTC tomorrow. Never identified himself as a debt collector, and then issued a threat. Oh yeah, they are going to love me!

Some experienced advice replies to I don't know what to do.
Dude, don't ignore them and then feel guilty. Freakin call them and explain your situation, Right Now, Today! It sucks recovering, but there may be a disability clause on you line of credit! How do they know you're situation? It sucks and it's hard, but life happens and running from it makes it all around worse, not to mention more stress on you during your recovery. My humble advice? Take the bull by the horns, milk your situation and persuade them to help you out. If the first person you speak with is a hard ass, say you're going to be sick and gotta go, (not to be rude). Call back to speak to another rep. Keep calling back until you get someone who is willing to help you make an agreement you can handle during your recovery. There is usually a way to work with them, even if they only agree to freeze your account so those ridiculous fees stop piling up! They may even rescind the fees added since your ailment began. CALL  THEM. It can't make it any worse.
    Good luck, be well.

The same woman from India or Pakistan calls repeatedly and I tell her this is my medical emergency phone.  I am not the Hispanic person she is asking for but she keeps on talking when I tell her this.  She finally hangs up and then calls back an hour or two later--sometime four times per day.  This company appears to be HSBC and it needs to be fined BIG TIME for using up my limited number of emergency phone minutes.

I am travelling internationally. I keep getting calls from 1-800-695-6950 many times a day. If I pick up , it says all our agents are busy. If I call back there is an automated message that says the same. I get charged even if I dont pick up. Action should be taken against whosoever owns this number.

They have been calling my # for days!!!  I finally had enough today and waited on the line until someone came on.  She asked to speak to Amanda, I relied that was me, she then asked if my last name was (butchered my maiden last name) when I told her no, she was saying it wrong she said "I thought you said this was Amanda?"  I replied again that I am Amanda but she was saying my last name wrong and asked her what I could help her with.  She then got disturbingly rude and said she wasn't going to talk to me because she wasn't sure I was the right Amanda.  I then told her to take my # off her list and told her not to call me again (I don't have any debt in my maiden name and haven't for several years) when she said "there is no list, this isn't a sales call".  so I asked again what she was calling me for and she said she would call back when she was sure the right Amanda was on the phone!  SERIOUSLY?!?  I don't even have a HSBC account and after this if it is them I never will!  Was like dealing with a bratty teenager, UGH!

I have gotten about 100 calls from this number--to my cell.

I have not answered any of them, so can't really complain about them being anything but a pain in the neck. The cell number they have is an old phone that doesn't have the "block call" feature, so have to keep pressing, "Ignore" when they call. [also, don't know if the 100 above is real or exaggerated. The old phone also doesn't count how many calls come from certain numbers].

They are a credit card collector.  They work for multiple companies.  In my area the most likely is Best Buy.  I called them back and they answered that for me based on the phone number I was calling from.

This is the Best Buy Credit card collections department.  I got a call from their off-shore collections department at 8:00AM on a Sunday morning and went ballistic.  I called back the 800 number and I talked to a person that filed a complain about on my behalf.  I contact a lawyer and she suggested I RECORD ALL CALLS FROM COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENTS or only talk to them if they agree to turn off their recorders.  In the case of HSBC/Best Buy, they will not continue a call if you are recording it nor will they turn it off which makes it easy to end the conversation.  I have Comcast and they also allow you to block numbers, too.
