At the moment, these "people" call themselves TCR (Total Credit Recovery). I have spoken to the very rude "reps" twice as somehow they got my name and number. Right away they wanted my address and date of birth –AS IF! I kept on asking them what the call is about and all they said is that if I don’t provide them with my info, they cannot discuss the matter –the matter that they are a scam artists? I looked up TCR and they have a totally different 1-800 number. I called and asked for Bernadette Hardery (the “manager” that left me voicemails saying to call her back the next morning before 9:15) and guess what the receptionist said? – “we do not have anyone here with that name”. I called the number that “Bernadette” left and some guy answered the phone. I wonder what the real TCR would think about these "people" using their name to scam innocent and hard working people...mmmhhh??? Sure, I won't deny that I have debt to pay, but it's very low and it has not or ever will go to a collections agency. GIVE UP ALREADY LOSERS!!!

Got a call from 800 7274145.  Telling a Mr McKeeting owes $3800 on a government loan.
First, my name is not McKeeting.  not even close. My last name starts with MAC, but the rest is WAY off.  I guess they rely on their heavy Indian accent to throw people off.
Second, I paid off my student loans years ago.
Third, I asked for this documentation in paper to be delivered to my house, no response.
Fourth, he never left his name, the company he works for or why they  are looking for me now after I paid my student loans years ago.  PS the loans were from RBC.
Finally, he stated that it was IMPERATIVE that I call his back at 10:05 tomorrow morning, or I would be in serious trouble.  REALLY?  10:05?
    What a scam.

Forgot to mention that there were about 500 other voices in the background.  Cubicle in a collection agency office?  Hmmmm, I think not.

These people are nuts.  Call me 5 times a day.  I'm told to call Micky Singh, but when I call back, It's not HIS number, some machine telling me that the number is experiencing technical difficulties, and to call a different number.  I called that number, and got a guy named "Joshua" with a thick accent, and thousands of voices in the background.  He asked me for phone #, full name, address etc etc...  I refused.  He said he needed my information before we could proceed.  I asked what company he was employed by, and what this was about?  HE REFUSED, saying he needs to "verify" MY information first.  I said, "YOU CALLED ME!  I know what my phone #, address & full name is.  YOU VERIFY your identity and tell me what this is about!"  He said he already had all my info, but needed to make sure he was talking to the right person.  I repeated myself asking for HIS verification...  PAUSE - PAUSE - PAUSE - PAUSE....  Then he hung up on me.  Two minutes later I got a phone call from some crazy woman named Michelle who proceeded to yell at me and berate me for not co-operating.  I simply asked what this was about and she still refused to say.  She hung up on  me as well.  Called back again (she did - private name private number)  and continued to yell at me.

So, for the record.... I just renewed my mortgage, got a new credit card, and a line of credit.  My loans were paid off years ago.  I highly doubt that if I owed anyone money,  my lawyer, mortgage broker, banker, and credit card company would have missed that....  SCAM!

I paid to get a new cell phone number when I moved away from the area.
My problem is that the person that had this phone number before me had a bad credit history and I keep getting harassed by there creditors.
It cost me for airtime every time that they call looking for him or her.
The collection agentcies  just don't seem the accept the fact that I am the one that has there old phone number. My number is on there calling list and they won't remove my phone number from it.
I think that we need to hire a lawyer and file a class action lawsuit for harassment.

I got a call from this number 1800 727 4145 they left a message with no name they mentioned that it was an important business matter and I will have to call them before 9,35 am tomorrow. I wonder how these kind of scamsters can be allowed to go scot free. They just prey on people and make money using scare tactics.

My 86 year old mother just received a message from this number for her to call by9 :30am tomorrow to pay off her outstanding debt, or they would persue legal action.  My mother has no debt and luckily as instructed she called me instead.  I called and the answering machine sounded like Thorold Credit Recovery.  In the initial phone message to my mum they didn't identify themselves nor what the debt was about, or name of person calling.  Scam or what !

Had 3 v/m so far from these scamers, only on the 3rd one the person said his name is Micky Singh from Total Credit Recovery, asking for call back to 800-727-4145 before a specific time tomorrow morning. Will wait to see if they would send any proof, we do not owe anything to anyone, never did.I will try to complain to the CRTC as my number is on the do-not-call-list for years now, it's a 11.000$ fine for them.I wonder if we could not launch a class action against them, to put them out of business for good.

I have been receiving calls from this organisation about three times a week for quite some time. They usually come in when I'm not at home, and a recorded message informs me, with gradually increasing severity (the message changes every month or so), that I must call this number (800-727-4145) by a random time such as 9:45 AM the next day to take care of an "unresolved business matter". Only one of these four or five different messages actually gave a company name of some kind, and while it was a little mumbly and indistinct, it sounded like "Global Credit Accounting". This organisation does in fact have an office in Markham, Ontario, but I'm not really convinced these were actually the people calling me. I at first simply erased the messages without a second thought, and determined that if I was ever around when they called and I picked up, I'd give them a "piece of my mind". I finally caught a couple of the calls, and it seems it doesn't matter if you pick or not; the recording always switches on, telling you to call the same number. This, more than anything else, annoyed me about the calls, since I feel that one is certainly at a disadvantage when asked to call an unidentified phone number. I finally left them a voicemail with a lot of steel, identifying myself only by my phone number (which I did not use to call them back), and said that they should cease harassing me with their frankly ridiculous recorded messages, or I would be forced to "report their illegal activities"...

Very early the next morning, my answering machine got a call from a woman named Michelle Ingham. she was looking for a man named Robert L----, who is certainly not me, and acted very imperious, assuring me that these calls were not, as I had insinuated, an attempt on her company's part to sell or at least "hook" me on something. She mentioned "Ministry of Government Services", which certainly has a rather ominous ring to it, yet would not be any more specific.

This morning I called her back, and I used my sweetest "hello Michelle" voice. There was a long pause, and a surprised and rather disarmed sounding "hi." I have a feeling they're used to people being very confrontational at this office. That wasn't far in coming, though, as I told her tthat I was not Robert L----, but that I saw no reason why I should give her my full name. She immediately became hostile, maintaining that this was "a business" and that she wasn't here to "play games". To this i could only laugh, since the dubious tactics of this firm seem very much like a sort of game to me, what with their bullying yet mysterious recordings, their insistence that one call them by some randomly selected and completely arbitrary time, and their utter vagueness in communicating their intentions. She told me to "have a good day" and hung up. She did not respond to my request that her company not call my house anymore, so we'll see if the messages keep coming.

I'm more amused by this business than anything else, and have to wonder about these people. Do they enjoy their jobs? Does it provide some kind of kick for them to act as though they're in a third-rate crime movie? Are they legitimate, or are they pulling a scam? Probably a bit of both; the Internet can't seem to agree. i wanted to tell Ms. Ingham that her name and organisation and number have "bad raps" all over the Internet and that perhaps it was time to rethink their strategy....but for all I know, they may well be successful in their attempts to break people down. So, all i can say is that all you people being harassed by this inept little company give them no quarter; exasperate them; foil them at every turn. And I hope they never find Robert L----, wherever he might be.

I have been receiving these recorded messages going on 10 months now. They have also left messages at my parents home. The messages have changed over the months. The latest being from Mickey Singh who claims there is some unresolved business matter they need to speak to me about and as you probably guessed I need to contact them by 10:05 the next morning. One of them actually tries to say who they are looking for but it is so garbled I have no idea what they are saying. I assume this is intentional. I have been ignoring them for as long as they have been calling and have advised my parents that it is a scam. At one point in time the message had identified the company as NCO. Don't know if that is true or not. Regardless if is true from what I have read NCO is a pretty shady company. My intention at this time is to contact the police to see if they are aware of these guys. To clarify I have been completely debt free for over a decade now so there is no way they could have any reason to call if they are a collection agency. It is probably some illegal boiler room going through the phone listings similar to phishing through e-mail to see who they can get on the hook.

Good thing you didn't trust that guy. Sadly some people do fall for it, and these parasites know that there are people who'd fall for their threats and lies. They are making money by ripping people off, and they'll go out of business if nobody gave a rats back to their lame threats.

Went to the police yesterday to complain and unfortunately they could not help me. They just said to put my number on the national do not call registry. I did that a couple of years ago and I checked to be sure it is still valid. It is valid until 2017. Not sure how to get these a$$holes to stop calling as I have no intention of returning their calls. If anyone has any suggestions please post.

I got my new phone number in June 2012 and since then I've had nothing but these harassing messages left from collections agencies for someone who obviously was the previous owner of my new number.  I've made several complaints to Bell Canada about this and was told that an email would be sent to their Executive Office to resolve the matter.  Thus far, not a word from Bell.  I sent my own email to Bell and nothing.  I believe the whole problem here is that Bell is outsourcing jobs to countries all over the world and now these people are getting hold of all of our personal information and making use of it.

Many voice messages left were from this Micky Singh concerning an outstanding business matter also to call him by a certain time.  This is more than annoying.

Important info....canadian residents please read this.  My mom received the same call yesterday evening...recorded message and left the 1-800 # with a name of McKeesing or something like that and asked to call back by 10:05 the next morning to resolve the matter.  I called the Consumers Protection Branch (these guys are great) and asked them to look this number up.  They couldn't find it so they called the number for me and it's Total Credit Recovery Limited located at 225 Yorkland Blvd, North York.  They have different depts handling different things and the operator asked me what the 1-800 call back number was....she then transferred me to "Government Assistant"  or atleast I think that's what she said so I'm assuming they take care of debts with the government as well.  Anway, to make a long story short, I spoke with someone there and they told me they were looking for this certain person who DOES NOT LIVE at my mom's address.  I explained this to them and told them to stop all calls as they had the wrong number and she said she would remove my mother's name from the system.  Anytime you have calls coming to your home that DO NOT belong to you, call the Consumers Protection Branch and they will help and assist you in what to do next.
