- Shocked| 1 replyOk so I googled the number because I wanted to know how it was. Seriously people why is it such a huge hardship even if you do get these calls. No gym routine requirements to hit "ignore" or "decline" on a cell. Shocks me you complainers gave blood in the first place if that's so difficult. For those landlines if you don't want to talk to them don't answer it! It's REALLY that simple. If someone calling you has something important to say they will leave a message.
- not Michael replies to ShockedI'll tell you why its a hardship. Those [***] called my cell phone Sunday night (May 11) while the tornado sirens were sounding and the tv weather people were telling everyone to take cover and I was trying to herd my cats into my tornado shelter closet. I didn't answer, but the ringing phone scared one cat so bad he ran back upstairs and it was too dangerous for me to go back up and bring him down. And yes, the tornado danger was real. A tornado touched down 7 miles from my house.
I'm now writing an email telling them to stop calling and why. I've been writing on it for several days. The first draft was an insane rant. I won't send it until its calmed-down into a complaint.
I donate blood every 8-10 weeks. My last donation was Saturday, May 10. It was donation #121. I plan to continue donating, I just don't want them to call. - RCcalls replies to B| 1 replyI set up my appts online to donate blood, so don't want the calls either. With my phone, I can enter the caller's name and change it to "no ring." That way I'm not bothered by their call.
- TammyThey call and show up on caller ID as "toll free number". I know it's Red Cross but on principle I don't usually answer because they call anonymously. I don't respect any business that doesn't identify themselves properly on caller ID. Legit businesses/charities shouldn't do this. They don't leave a message and the caller ID keeps them anonymous. What if you wanted to call them back because you weren't home when they called? SECOND, they call WAY too often. Sometimes several times in one week. If they identified themselves, people might answer and if they left a message, they would probably have some people return their calls. They would have to call less often than 4-5 times a week.

- MaudePlease stop calling!

- k30 unsolicited calls to my child's unlisted emergency only cell phone that she has had for several years. TIRED OF THE HARASSMENT!!!
- 1234I receive a call from this number every day. Would like for it to stop.
- anon replies to Concerned Citizen| 3 repliesI cannot donate blood, and have told them several times. They got my number because I once tried but was turned away. Now I get calls all the time. I tell them that i am unable to give but they still call. It is really bothersome.
- clairI find that when they call the called id is "unavailable" I never pick up when "unavailable" is on the id. They have been calling every day, sometime twice. I will sign up at work or at church when there is a blood drive. I wish they would identify themselves at least.
- ChrissMarkey replies to Concerned Citizen| 3 repliesI disagree with you and agree with him. The Red Cross has NO RIGHT to sell, trade or otherwise transfer OUR information we provide to them (required by them) in the course of making a donation as important as this is.
IMHO - It is like giving away phone numbers of people who donate organs.
The Red Cross is hurting THEIR OWN EFFORTS by this practice. THEY are hurting those in need of blood services NOT US.
Btw, if you still disagree, post your name and number.
I will call YOU every other Sunday night at 830M. - ChrissMarkey replies to BI agree FULLY with you.
- Mr.SoupI do not appreciate this number calling me ALL THE TIME!!! They seriously call me AT LEAST twice a day! I am not even of age to give blood yet. I have no idea how they got my phone number, as I do not have Facebook or Twitter. I wish my name could be taken off their list, but I don't know how that is possible.
- D replies to JustinNot necessarily a blood donor connection. Have never given blood or been on any medical lists, and I get calls from them. I've blocked the calls now, but one just tried to come in. They try about once a week.
- Lynne KernI am constantly receiving call from this number asking me if I want to donate blood. I told them many times that I sign myself up when I choose, with local drives in my area. They call daily and interrupt dinner. They will not stop calling despite my multiple requests for them to do so.
- Caller: Red Cross-Blood drive
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- alreadygaveblood replies to catfiteIt's not the same number that calls. I have received calls with caller ID actually saying "Red Cross" to donate blood. Now this one comes up. I wasn't home to answer these calls, but I got two within two days.
- Frustrated replies to Concerned CitizenI don't think people are being dramatic at all. If people are kind enough to donate blood, they should not be harassed by the Red Cross. They just lost my support!
- Daughter| 1 replyI donate blood and volunteer for the red cross.
Our organization is flooded with tongs of work and re rely (at least in my division) on 50% volunteer basis. That means 50% of our staff our volunteers.
Give them a little break, we have an automated calling system so that volunteers can actually do a little bit to help.
There are problems yes but don't sign off on the red cross for it.
My mother needed blood as a baby, and a LOT during her kidney transplant, and my father needed blood after a donation. This blood saved both of my parents lives (my mothers life multiple times). So please consider your impact before giving up donating completely! - Daughter Mod replies to Daughter^ my father needed blood after a car accident (not a donation, haha)
- happy to donate replies to another blood donesame thing happened to me...and I'm still receiving the calls....I will continue to donate as often as I can and hate to read that people are going to turn away from the Red Cross because of these calls....having personally benefitted from someone else's selfless blood donation I know how important the work of the Red Cross is.......please don't stop donating because of annoying phone calls......people need you.
