Got a call from "USAA" on a number they don't have. Absolutely a scam, ignore/block.

Got a call and a text within two days, saying they were calling "on behalf of USAA".  Caller ID said "Unknown."  Caller claimed that she was calling because I had checked on annuities on the USAA website.  Caller had my full name.  I repeatedly asked her if she was with USAA or calling on "behalf of USAA"...she did not tell me her company name, only that it was on behalf of USAA.  When I asked to not be contacted, she asked "Do you not want to be contacted by USAA by phone?" then I reiterated to her that I did not want to be contacted by her company.  I called USAA to report; they recommended that I block the number and the USAA representative had me hold while she reported the issue - very helpful; did not indicate that this number had anything to do with USAA.

Thanks all. I have not answered 3 calls from this number, and won't.

This is the second time they called. I reported this before , October 2021.  This tme the woman left message that it is from USAA, her name is Kelly and to call her back at this number.

Received same call USAA does not have call other company call for them… it’s a SCAM - send abuse@USAA.com

The caller sounded under the influence and identified he was with USAA calling about CDs. Then was going to transfer to a representative.

Received a voice mail from Karen Ward at 800-748-4843. She said she was from USAA and was calling about my engagement with USAA Deferred Annuity Calculator. I have never inquired about USAA annuity anything. When I called USAA Security Services they referred me to the Annuities Branch. Their message said the wait time would be 3 hours. I hung up and sent a message to abuse@USAA.com but have had no reply. I received 3 more attempts to call me from this number but no voice mail. I don’t answer unknown numbers.

I was the second post on here back in Oct '21... they called me again today so I searched the number on here again and saw there are now 3 pages of posts on this number - and USAA hasn't cleared it up yet?  Are they using outsourcing to bother their members?  I went to LQ Digital's webpage and they sound exactly like a tech fishing company that outsources for various clients.  If USAA is using them, they need to break it off because it's bothersome and unprofessional.

Addendum to my last post . . . LQ Digital is the caller and USAA is using them.

Still don't think it's a good idea, especially considering their unprofessional manner and continued harassment.  USAA should rethink this.

Here's a novel idea: contact USAA and let them know about this caller's "unprofessional manner and continued harassment." They can't do anything if they don't know about it

I received a call from this number which caller ID showed as USAA. When I answered I could tell they were in their car playing loud music. I immediately hung up and blocked the number. I also checked on line and didn't find this number to be a legitimate USAA number. I blocked the number and they called back again. Voice mail states they wanted to go over my annuities of which I do have through USAA. If I want to discuss my account I will call USAA. I certainly would never provide information to an un-known person claiming to be USAA regardless if USAA is outsourcing or not. Seems way too fishy to me as well.

was called and the  caller knew my middle initial and wanted to discuss  my savings account. Was told the message was being recorded and  claimed from USAA. I directed them to contact my financial advisor and was immediately disconnected

I received 3 of these calls. I answered the first one, since the caller ID said USAA. I said I was not available to talk and to call back. I became suspicious and called USAA directly. This number is not part of their system and the call is a scam.

Received call this morning trying to get me open a USAA CD. Told the rep I wasn't interested she started on another sales presentation. I hung up call the number back and it was a USAA recording but it was interrupted and phone started ringing. Call USAA as was it wasn't them. Beware a SCAM.

I received a text and 3 phones calls from this number claiming to be USAA. The messages said they were calling to discuss my inquiry about retirement saving. I had not inquired about retirement savings, so I knew it was shady. I tried to notify USAA, but after going through their automated call system, I was left on hold for a long time. Very annoying and frustrating. I am disappointed to read some of the other comments stating that USAA is outsourcing this and therefore giving our phone numbers to a third party. This is the third or fourth experience I’ve had with USAA in which I am disappointed. After 20 years, I am seriously considering closing my accounts.

Caller said she was from USAA and "USAA" did show up on the Caller ID ( but the number when I checked later was not the USAA number stored on my phone). Claimed she was calling my husband back about a question he had about a USAA CD (he had never inquired). Was very sketchy and would not answer my questions because she claimed she was authorized to only speak to my husband and wanted to transfer me to someone else and then hung up.

I had similar experience; Jessica from 800-748-4843... called back and the man I was connected to wanted to verify my info.  I told him I was not comfortable with the phone call and was curious how he wanted to verify my info.  He asked me for my 4-digit USAA code!!  I laughed and said I would not give him this number and would, instead, call USAA to discuss anything further about my account. After reading the above comments, I know that this is not something I need and do not need to waste USAA's time by calling them. I was polite and ended the call.
