The guy kept asking me my name and was EXTREMELY RUDE and would not let me explain that I had just received this cell phone number (the one he called) on a work blackberry and I had no idea why they were calling me.

I called back to get a different representative and they said they had no record of my phone number...

That's not necessarily true. I had surgery last summer and after insurance, I had a balance of 2500.00. I'd made arrangements with the hospital to pay (in writing). After 30 days, I started receiving phone calls from this very same collection service. They told me that the hospital turned all balances over 30 days to them to collect, and 'not to worry', they didn't turn it in on your credit unless you didn't pay. At first, they accused me of lying because I didn't get mail from them but the problem was that they'd left off the apartment number. She accused me of giving them an incorrect address. She then went into my credit report and brought up a mortgage that had been forclosed on years ago during a particularly hard time (including a divorce). She harrassed me to pay with a credit card, wanted more than the initial monthly agreement, I paid faithfully every month, on time, but was repeatedly harrassed by the same woman for the six months that it took for me to pay it off. She was abrasive and unfriendly and I hope that one day, she finds herself in the same position as those that she harrasses. She is a hateful, nasty person.

If they don't leave a message they are automatically doing something illegal otherwise they would leave information without any fear of being brought up on charges. I just got a call today by this number and whenever I get a call from a number on my cellphone, which can end up with me getting a larger phone bill at the end of the month, then I always look it up on the internet and wha-lah, obviously someone one is calling illegally about something they have no business calling about. If the violators are reading these messages then you are to cease and desist your calls or be brought up on charges. Whatever your alleged claim is it is not collectible or just some other form of harassment. Last Warning:

Thank you so much, If everybody did this the world would be a better place. Avoiding calls, hanging up and cussing people out isn't how you resolve the situation. Follow this example if you are being called & it isnt you that they are looking for. That way their not wasting their time or yours. Anyone could give out a wrong # & they can continously give it out, so don't get upset b/c you have told them once, If the person has given your number out on several different occassions, guess what? Your gonna get several different calls & not from the same person.

This number showed up on my new phone everday for 3 months. Sometimes 3-4 times a day. I had been trying to answer to tell them that this is a new number for me but only got air. The two time I did get to talk to someone, I was called a liar and then they attempted to give me a lecture on being responseable and paying my dept. I kept trying to interupt to tell them I was only 15 and had no dept. Finally just hung up on them. 2 months later still getting calls from them. I told my parents about it and they had our attorney call them. Have not received a call since. It took 5 months to get them to stop call a minors phone.

Why are you trolling the internet for the company you work for. Are you trying to give what you do some validation?  If I were in your shoes there are not enough showers I could take in a day to make myself feel clean. You dont get that people run into horrible life events that prevent them from paying their bills? My guess is that your in for a huge wake up call. You better be careful with your smug, delusional attitude. Its people like you who sit and pass judement on others that learn the hard way how others come to suffer. Oh and there is more to life than money. So even if the "soul collector" does make more money that dosent make them a better human.

This company is a colletion agency, but is owned by the same company that owns whatever hospital to whom you or I owe a bill. They don't pay to get the accounts. They are not allowed to call you more than once a day after you have picked up the phone, weather you speak to them or you hang up, but are allowed multiple calls up until that point. With this company, you can pay the hospital if you wish, because it all goes to the same place and to the same company. You never have to pay the collection agency if you don't want to. You can always pay the hospital, but make sure the hospital notifies them of your payment or you will keep getting calls. If you have paid a hospital the bill, and you are still getting calls from the collection agency, it is because the hospital has not updated them regarding the payment you made. When they call for someone and have the wrong number multiple times, it is usually because someone is giving them the wrong number multiple times. If you feel this is a problem, I would call back to speak with a manager regarding the issue. They always have more capability and authority than a standard bill collector would. This agency never reports to the credit bureau nor or they even licensed to do so, however they are authorized to pull and view your credit report. If the balance of an account is not resolved while in their office, then they send the account to a secondary collection agency that typically will report to the credit bureau. However, if you pay them directly, they will give you a discount on your bill if you ask them for one. They do assist the hospital with wage garnishments, however, it is always the hospital's decision on whether or not to proceed w/ legal action. If you ever feel you have been verbally harrassed, always take the initiative and responisbility to call back to speak with a manager or a supervisor and let them know about the issue. This will help to prevent others from going through the same situation.

Legally human medical bill collectors are not allowed to leave call back messages on answering machines anymore. They aren't allowed to leave messages with anyone at your place of employment either. But legally they are allowed to call your place of employment. If they call your place of employment and tell you not to call them anymore, they are not allowed to call anymore until they recieve another account. When they receive another account with that information that you have provided the hospital, it is legally assumed that you once again give permission for them to call you place of employment. And also the reason they have the account is because they hospital has only so much manpower and so much bandwidth and memory in their system, that they can't handle all of the accounts themselves. So after a certain amount of time, usually not a very long amount of time, they send it on to Professional Account Services, Inc. So don't hate on me. This is useful information for you and me both!

I have been receiving calls from this company for years. They have me confused with someone with a different middle initial. They have told me repeatedly that they will remove me from the list. I told them that if it happens again I will get an attorney and fight this all the way. I am extremely sick and tired of this.
