    Multiple calls over the last 6 weeks.  Filed complaint with the Texas Attorney General, sent fax to company, emailed company, spoke with customer service desk.

    Have received other calls from a subcontractor, perhaps Gary Olshan, in Alabama on phone number 205-747-1694.

    this is a medical bill collector.  I have a common name, they are calling the wrong person. I contacted the hospital three months ago and verified they didnt have my information...JC lincoln hosp said they would take care of it....well they called again today.  what they do is 'buy' the accounts and they look up your name and call numerous people with the same name...stupid...the person would not give me their address.
    So now when I see this number I will answer, disconnect......I offered the guy who called today .01 to settle the account...and the idiot said well it is $90 I could settle for 20%....drrrrr it isnt me......STUPID

    This company (CMRE) has been calling me for the past 2 years. About 6 months ago I called to get my number removed from their list after argueing with the lady on the other line. She was VERY rude and yelled back at me. They stopped calling, up until about a month ago. The calls are coming back. It used to be about twice a day, and now its about twice a week. It is SO ANNOYING. I do not know who "XXXXX Johnson" is. I'm really fed up with these jerks. I say we all get together and burn down their facility. :]

    Better yet, sue them for FDCPA and TCPA violations @ $500 per call:

    Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.

    Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

    This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

    David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

    [The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

    Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.

    So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

    1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
    2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
    3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

    Repeated collection calls for someone I don't know.  I've even spoken with a person a couple of times and told them the guy they're looking for doesn't have this number any more.  They still call every few weeks.  I still just ignore it.

    They had a guy working for them like maybe a year and a half ago, told me they were going to take me to court and all that, if i didn't start paying them for my hospital bills (which were legitimate, i just couldn't afford it).  So they set uP m0ney to be taken out of my checking account for 14 payments to pay the debt all off, and that amount of payments would even cover their fees and what-not as well.  That was supposed to end in November with that November payment being like 3 or whatever dollars more than the previous installments, and now, it's here January and they are still charging me!!

    What it is, is a company who collects outstanding hospital debts. More than likely it was someone has used your phone number as a contact number, to elude collection on a hospital debt (usually illegal immigrants or people without insurance).  I was lucky I knew of someone who worked there and they removed my cell number from the persons contact info.
