Got a similar car with the Delta and American Airlines logo yesterday 6/08 offering a cmplimentary travel package anywhere in the US or a 3-day all-inclusive Mexican vacation.... "IN CELEBRATION OF OUR ANNIVERSARY". The phone number on my postcard is 1-866-310-2287.

not a call, but a sealed letter with no return address stating "HAPPY BIRTHDAY [NAME]" and address to me.
Apparently US Airways + other major airlines.
The message reads:
Congratulations [name]

I got the same post card but I called and left my name and phone number with them. now I worried.

Called company. Christopher answered my call and explained that we would have to come down to the Tysons Corner office and listen to a 90 minute presentation. In order to obtain 2 "free" tickets we would have to join their travel club. The price of membership depends on your needs - whether you want to travel around the world, every few months or once a year. I also received a new confirmation number and was told the suite number. I would be very curious to know if anyone has actualy attended the presentation or even located the office to see if it really exists!

My husband also received the same balloon card with the same offer from the Tysons Corner location.  So, my question is very simple.  Has anyone attended the "Meet and Greet" as one person called it?

Got mine today.  It said Happy Birthday - even though mine is over 4 months away.  The same, ubiquitous, though plainly and innocuously named "Allen T. Wilson" signs. The number is 1-800-320-1579 The back of the fake travel itinery states the terms - which include having to sit thru a 90 minute equivalent of waterboarding - AKA - having a northern Minnesota timeshare pitched to me.

I received the same postcard on 07/07/08. Company address: 9449 North 90th Street, suite 100, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. It says:

I know this is a scam you don't get nothing in life for free!  I believe it is the same company that called me toward the end of June trying to get me to go to a 90 minute timeshare presentation, sorry I forgot the company name!  They also sent me a postcard with prize code in the mail saying that I won either a 2008 navigator or 45,000.00 cash (1st prize), round trip for 2 including 3 days to night hotel accommodation's to Las Vegas, Hawaii, or Cancun Mexico(2nd prize) or a 32" HD TV with remote (third prize)Must be present to win and must attend a 90 minute presentation which I did not attend.  Sounds like a scam, smells like a scam, must be a scam if you ask me!

I received a "letter" with the same message, but with Southwest Airlines as the purported carrier.   I called the number to find out more and they wanted me to make an appointment for a "commercial".  I made the appointment, then searched the web and came up with a number of scams using the words "Global Travel," so I decided to call the number back and cancel the appointment.  "Carmen" on the other end, sounded incredulous.  This just couldn't be true.  She said she was trying to get the supervisor, but couldn't, then said that she would cancel the appointment, but was going to look into this and would call me tomorrow to tell me what she finds out.  I hope she doesn't bother.  Ah well, lesson learned. I haven't had to listen to the pitch, and I'm out only a few minutes of my time.  Caveat Emptor!

I called Southwest Customer Relations to report this.

I received the same scam (from zipcode 32114), but with Southwest Airlines being listed; phone #800-813-6994 was included to "claim this special gift"

They included a fake boarding pass; Travel provider listed on back of boarding pass was:

I received a mailer that contained the identical message reported by Jammie, with the exception of the text of the first sentence, which reads "Our accounting department shows that you have been rewarded." Good news for me: they don't have my birthdate. Better news:  I'll not waste time responding to this solicitation.  Many thanks to all who have posted.

I got the same thing today (8/05)! In celebration of my birthday next month. They couldn't even spell Vienna right on the back of the "travel itinerary." (They spelled it Vienne, Virginia). Supposedly this is Global Travel's address, but when I googled it, it's the location of Database training! Some scam...

I got the identical HAPPY Birthday Greeting letter with a fake ticket from Southwest Airlines. On the back of the ticket it said "Travel Provider Global Travel, 8500 Leesburg Pike, Suite 306, Vienna, VA 22182. Certain restrictions may apply" and then an asterisk with the statement "This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with S0outhwest. They are major supplier". The phone number to call is 1-800-831-6994" The body of the letter stated "To help you celebrate your birthday next month we would like to give you 2 complimentary tickets ".etc and a bonous of a 3 day 2 night Hotel stay. I called the number and made an appointment and then decided to do some online research and discoverd what my wife suspected all along. She noted right away that they did not say they would give the tickets but "wouod like to give". I wonder what Southwest sas about this useof their name and a fake ticket to lure its customers?

I did not get a call, as I am on the DNC list. I got the birthday card, with my first name on the outside, in the mail. It must have arrived in May, as the date on the imitation US Airways boarding pass is 5/17/08.

The offer to me was for two complimentary round trip airline tickets to any major international airport anywhere in the continental USA. There was a bonus gift too, three days and two nights at a hotel anywhere in the continental US or a $500 shopping spree.

I suppose I'll fill out the form at the FTC website.

this is the second time i receive this fake mailer. first with US airways logo, now Southwest. my last name is misspelled, just like it is on my house deed, i think they get the info from the city registrar's office (which makes me wonder if they are selling my info). in any case, the "travel provider" is global travel with an address in virginia, although the morons misspelled vienna ("vienne") and the address is similar to others i've seen here but not the same (8500 leesburg pike, suite 306, vienna va 22182). i suspect the address is fake as well. of course, don't bother calling the toll-free number.
