i got the same thing but with southwest airlines noted. they are still very active. this thing has "scam" all over it. it's very disconcerting that they have our birth dates. unfortunately personal information is way too easy to get. i guess people still fall for this stuff instead of being cautious. i applaud those of you willing to spend the time getting to the bottom of it which is why i'm providing the information below:

I have been receiving these "self-mailers" (mailers that are folded into halves or thirds) over the last year, the most recent was on August 30, 2008.  The mailers have shown company names such as Global Holidays, Global Travel, Event Planners, World Wide Travel, and even one that does not show any company name.  With the exception of the one, all ask the recipient to call a toll-free number (examples: 800-809-6310 or 800-813-6994 or 866-930-3999 ) to receive "Two Roundtrip" airfares or tickets to any "major international airport of your choice within the continental U.S."  The exception states the destination to be "over 40 of America's favorite resort destinations."  All have the words "To claim this special gift", you "simply call" the number provided.

Each mailer provides a "Boarding Pass" that can be detached from the other portion of the mailer, each asks the recipient to call "within 48 hours", and each provides one or more U.S. airline logos or strong inference that the airline is involved.  No airline is associated with the advertisements - as verified by the airlines.

Here are some facts (in the event you don't know already):

1.  These mailers are all deceptive, misleading and cunning - designed to lure you into the trap.  There is more than one company involved in these schemes.  The toll-free telephone numbers likely belong to one company, widely reported to be Certs, Inc., 424 E Central Blvd #413, Orlando, FL 32801, tel. 866-292-099, ( http://www.certsinc.biz/ ).  However, they may belong to another company, which is currently under investigation by the Florida Attorney General.  All of the following names have been linked to one organization by Florida officials: Suncoast Incentives LLC, Suncoast Vacations, Capital Financial Marketing, Travel Services USA, United Vacation Network (now dissolved), and World Vacation Destinations LLC.  The companies that appear on the mailers you receive likely contract with the outfit that sends out the mailers and fields the phone calls.

I say "likely" because it is difficult to pin all this down.  I have found that governmental agencies are very reluctant to allow U.S. citizen consumers access to the information. Thus, it is hard to expose these hustlers before more financial damage is done to Americans.

2.  There is no "special gift."  The definition of a gift is a voluntary transfer of property to another, gratuitously and without consideration, i.e., the recipient does not have to pay or do anything in return for the gift.  In these instances, the recipient is required to sit through a lengthy, pressurized and deceptive sales pitch - first.  

The amounts of money involved are in the thousands of dollars.  The sales pitch is so convincing and lasts so long, it wears a person down.  That's the intent.

Adolf Hitler said, "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed."  This concept is followed meticulously by the sales force in these "steam rooms."

After hours of haranguing by sales people, the individual or couple will be put through so many restrictions, stipulations and requirements related to receiving the "free round trip tickets" that the "gift" is all but impossible to obtain.  Look at the testimonials of people who have been there.

3.  While there are real companies by the names given on the mailers, at least one gives a false address.  Global Holidays (aka Global Travel) does not have an office at Tysons (Tyson's) Corner, Gallows Road, Leesburg Pike or Vienna, Virginia.  Non-existent, period.  This has been confirmed by onsite review.  Yet, it is likely these real companies are the ones that provide the sales force at the various "seminars" around the country.

4.  There is nothing provided on the mailers that make it possible for the recipient to identify, verify or contact the sender without calling the number provided.  Legitimate advertisers do not operate in this manner.  Legitimate companies do not offer gifts that are as costly as "two free round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continental" United States without requiring you to do something in return, e.g., pay a fee, buy a product or listen to a sales spiel.

The old adage, "If it looks (or sounds) too good to be true, it probably is." should be revised to "...it definitely is too good to be true."  It is a downright lie.

One unlucky person told the St. Petersburg (Florida) Times he didn't think his shame should stop him from warning other people to be more careful.  "Most people who make mistakes like I have," he said, "would just take the whipping and go on."  

If you have been duped, report it, expose it, and let everyone else know in the hope that it may prevent at least one other from being swindled by these bandits.

CONCLUSION: Be skeptical when thinking about a "free" anything - be very, very skeptical.

My wife got a call today from this company informing her that she had won one of three winning scratch off ticket for either a Cadillac Escalade, 32’ big screen TV, or 2 round trip ticket to Orlando.  We had to be present in order to redeem this.  We asked all of the right questions but decided not to go.  I read a lot of the replies here and figured it was to good to be true.   The address was 8500 Leesburgs Pike, Suite 306, Vienna, VA 22182.  Her name was Amber with extension 225.  Phone # of (866)334-1920

I am soooooo glad that I decided to check this out before tomorrow morning!!! I recieved a phone call yesterday from a Mrs. Green, phone# 866-313-8050ext#274. She claimed that I had entered a sweepstakes last year and that my e-mail had been chosen as one of the winners. She explained that since I had admitted that I was living with my boyfriend, that we both had to be present. She stated that since I was the winner I would need two forms of ID, and that he would only need one. She also stated that I would have to fill out two forms identically, that we would have to show proof of the claim number code given to me over the phone,that we would have to have a combined income of at least $60,000,that it would take about 90 minutes of our time, and that the final stage of the sweepstakes would result in my having to scratch a ticket which would then present me with one of the four GUARANTEED prizes.(the prizes being: A LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, A 37" FLAT SCREEN TV, $2,500, OR A TRIP FOR TWO TO ONE OF THREE DESTINATIONS). I was then told over the phone that we were to come to this address: 8500 Leesburg Pike(suite 306), Vienna, VA., 22182, and that the name FED BID would be on the building.I was so excited because I must admit, I am an internet sweepstakes junky. I have entered so many from Publishers Clearing House, to others I can't even remember, so of course, me being niave, I believed that I had actually won.I got off the phone, told my boyfriend about it and started making transportation arrangements in case I won the TV. Anyway, my boyfriend is a skeptic, so he insisted that I check into it, to see if there was a website, and if so, could we maybe see pictures of the prizes, or enter the claim number to see if in fact it was a real winner. Well, of course the website provided nooooooo useful information, so I decided to check to see if it was a scam, and BOOOOOM, here I am writing this message. So thank you everyone who went through the same thing, and for providing this proof. But, I am also sorry also for everyone who went through this, because this is a cruel, cruel joke and an awful way of messing with someone life and happiness.

The lady said her name was Leslie, she was from Global Holidays, and that I had won a car. A 2007 Ford Escalade to be exact.

After i started asking hard questions like, what's your company's website, where are you located, how did you get my information?  She started giving mixed answers, and obviously did not know what she was talking about.

So, since she called me maybe 10 times, I answered the last time, pretended to be interested.  Then she told me to go to Vienne? (Vienna....funny) in Virginia when I live in California.

So I gave a great big **** you, and I hung up.  I suggest anyone else who is approached by this company to do the same.

They just called me!!!!!!!!!!!!  
You have won 1 of three prises you must bring a phot ID and credit card and my wife.  I told them I did not appreciate the phone spam and to never call this number again.  Nothing in life is free except worshiping our higher power everything has a price.

They sent colorful folded over flyser saying that "To help you celebrate your birthday nexct month we would like to give you two complimentary round trip airline tickets to any major international airport anyine in the COntinental U.s"  to claim... blah blah...

Turns out, when I called, I would have to go into their office and listen to some 90 minutes vacation spiel, she swore it "was not a time share."

When I asked for their address and phone number and boss's  name, she refused. But did say the company was called "Global Holidays" at 8500 Leesburg Rd, Tysons Corner VA 22182.

I got similar mailer with a return address from: Fairfax County General District - Rm 306, 8500 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182 with faked voucher for airline tickets for two.  However, the postage permit is from Tampa #78.  The given phone number was 1-866-930-3999, the name of the person who answered the phone was Steve who give me a claim code number TMF103, TMF stands for Too Much Fun!!!, he explained.  Of course I did not go but I wonder where the FBI internet fraud unit stand from such business is and why we are not protected from this obvious organized crime.

first off, in your comment you have some misleading, and false information. I find your comment, ignorant, and rude. i did get a card stating i would recieve two comp, roundtrip airline tickets, i went and listen to the sales pitch in tysons corner, they do have an office they had just moved down the street to 8500 lessburg pike because of leasing issues at the 1950 old gallows road address. I found out that global vacations is a christian based franchise that sell a travel club membership which is actually a good deal, but most of the people at the presentaion had already made up there ignorant narrow minded government, controled and feared minds to nmot purchase. I was givben a voucher i had to pay the 5% sales tax off course by law you do have to pay just like if you won a sum of money of a games show. (Duh). It took 3months to actually get the tickest and i was on my way the only complaint i do have was that it took so long to get the actual tickest but other than that i was satisfied. I believe the most disturbing issue is that they know that you have a companion (spouse, partner, etc). I called because we got a call (not a postcard) and tried to get all the info I could. I live in the DC metro area and know where excatly Leesburg Pike is. I'd love for some cops to go and actually investigate who has the address.

I received an unmarked letter with "Priority Notice" in big letters but with  no information on it, with the return address "Fairfax County General District - Rm 306 8500 Leesburg Pike Vienna Va 22182" with the return mail paid out of Tampa, FL.  Absolutely no offers but obviously from a sketchy address! Trying to find out how they got my address (I live in DC). . .

I was a victim of this scam, too.  No, I didn't buy anythuing, BUT I attended their sales pitch at the 8500 Leesburg Pike office, and left with nothing.  As I was promised free flights and a $500 shopping spree, I sued.  And won.  Don't let these turkeys at Global whatever take advantage of you.

No call from Globe Travel, but I received the "round trip airfare voucher for two adults" from Rm 306 8500 Leesburg Pike. I know where the Fairfax County General District Court is located, so I knew this was a scam.  Same Tampa FL Permit #78.

A caller from this number gave me the same spiel saying that I am one of three finalists to win a cadillac, big screen tv, or free trip. The person's name that called is Natalie Launderdale at ext. 240. The phone number they called from is 888-813-8050 x 240.

This is the second scammer I have been in contact with in a couple of weeks.
