- oakland1000i GOT A MESSAGE THAT THIS NO CALLED ME THIS MORNING (mAY 5, 2020) ~923AM AND i SUSPECT THAT IF THIS IS A DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY, THAT IT ARISES FROM A HOSPITAL BILL THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY KAISER HMO WHEN I HAD A MAJOR OPERATION. I referred it back to the HMO and they evidently are not doing anything about it, so why should I???!!!
Probably another case of hospital over billing!!! The adminsitrators all get greedy trying to milk the healthcare system that they should ALL be put in jail for fraud!!!! They will be the cause of the decline of this great country. Why aren't our elected officals doing something about these corporate criminals??- Caller: National Recovery Service
- Call type: Debt collector
- CynthiaJust came up as potential spam. No phone number listed until I went into info on the caller. So I didn’t answer.

- KaileyI don't answer 1800 numbers but when cleaning out my voicemailbox I realized I had MULTIPLE automated voicemails from this same number all saying that it's the nationwide recovery service and to call them back. I had voicemails from well over a year ago. If I had a debt that was sent to collections that long ago it would be on my credit report but nothing is. I'm only 23 also so I'm too young for something to have been there long enough to fall off my credit. Still haven't answered or called back but when looking online the NRS has a different phone number. Guessing this is a scam.

- BigA replies to ChristineYou intend to break the law? Doing that would be illegal and would put lives in jeopardy. S.W.A.T ing is a serious offense. There is an much easier solution that I will post for people who want to do things the right way. Your post is being reported for removal because what you are suggesting is highly illegal.
- BigAYou will need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt, and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- MrsBuchananSo this number keeps calling at least 5 times a day. i finally answered and after sitting on hold for 20 minutes, they said they were trying to contact *insert guys name* , then proceeded to tell me i was lying when i said i wasn't him. I've had the same number for about 10 years. trust me i'm not him. ugh.
- Hearing ImpairedMy outgoing message explains I cannot take voice calls with request to text. This is an auto mated message saying press one or press two which cannot be done via transcribed message. I texted them to ask who they are and why they are calling I have no debt.
