    Confused replies to Alfalfa
Thank you so much for writing all that.  I really do appreciate it.  I was on the phone last night with a fraud protection agency and they pretty much told me to do the same thing that you are stating along with some other phone calls I should make.

Thanks again for your help :)

this company has been harrassing my ill mother, and today he called her a liar, because she tells them i don't live there which i don't.  she has chronic COPD, and had a severe attack where she could not breath and I almost had to take her to the hospital.  they need to stop calling her!

    Wanda,
First of all, you need to file a complaint with the FTC against them for harassing and being verbally abusive to your mother, in addition to them discussing your debt with her. This is illegal!

    https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup

Secondly, you need to send them this Cease Communication Letter VIA Certified Mail and request a return receipt. It needs to be in her name with her signature. She is under NO obligation to talk to them and if they ignore her written request to stop calling, they can face fines of up to $1,000.00 PER violation. Just fill in the appropriate blanks and keep copies of everything.

Third, you need to send them this letter yourself and DEMAND validation of the debt they are harassing your mother about:

    You're welcome!
Phat chance that they will be able to validate the debt, since most debts expire by the end of six years. If you don't already have this information on the Statue of Limitations in each state, here is the link:

    http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.html

I know of someone who was also being hassled by a bottom feeder about an expired debt. They sent the offending party a "Drop Dead" letter and demanded they validate the debt. They couldn't...and slithered and slunk into the sunset after that. =0)

Thank you very much for this information.  I will take complete all of hese letters and send them out first thing tomorrow.  Mom is not usually this hysterical but this guy caught her at the wrong time on the wrong day, and now I have to deal with her health, and this situation.

I appreciate your help and knowledge of this messy situation.

    You're very welcome.

    Here is their address:

    First National Collection Bureau, Inc.
    610 Waltham Way
    McCarran, NV 89434
    (800) 824-6191

You are not the only one with legitimate concerns about these thugs:

    http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/collectionbureau.html

    http://w3.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/281/RipOff0281046.htm

And, from what I have read, it looks like they are a junk debt buyer who buys old debts for pennies on the dollar and then tries to unload them on unsuspecting consumers. In short, the alledged debt they are calling about may very well be beyond the Statue of Limitations. If it is, then they collect NOTHING.

Get those letters off with all due speed! Good luck!

All you have to do is give them a "verbal ceast and desist" and they cant call anymore, or it's harassment

From Brian to all upset with FNBC replies to Nic OKC
Just wanted to give you all a heads up about this company, well the FDCPA says that we need to Indentify ourselves to debtors.  Well the people at FNCB actually make up phoney names.  And your gonna trust a company like that with your depts??  Oh, and by the way most of your debt can be settled for 50% but they wont tell you that at first, seeing the more you pay the more they make.  Dont listen to that "you need to get a payment in this month"  cause if FNCB is calling you, the debt is already gone through 2-4 agencies already.  After 7 years, dont even worry about it, unless you care about your credit score.  Well that's all I can think of for now.  But will keep reading your messages and keep you advised.  An ex-collector for FNCB.

Just because the SOL is up doesnt mean it's not collectable, it just means they cant sue you.

    Right Tim replies to Tim
You are right TIM. A debt that is beyond the SOL can still be collected. But it can only be collected if the consumer is stupid enough to not assert their SOL rights or is dumb enough to admit they owe the debt.
Stop taking advantage of consumer ignorance and learn how to collect on legitimate debts. This website is dedicated to eliminating consumer ignorance on debts that cannot in "practical terms" be assaulted. Everyone who has a debt here, look up your SOL for your state and if the debt is too old then say so in writing or if you get sued say so at the first instance in court. A debt that cant be collected in court is worthless unless you bow to their idle threats. Thanks again Tim!

When you have something of substance to say then please respond. No one needs your idle namecalling. And get your facts straight first. Prove that everyone who is called by a collection agency owes them money. Otherwise you can crawl back under your rock.

I just kept a whistle by my phone, and when they called, I blew the whistle as hard as I could into the phone.  I only recieved 1 more phone call!!
They are the bottom feeders who purchase old debts. Mine is from nearly 7 years ago, from a company that absolutely would not work with me (about my then situation, layed off from Intel).  The other debt holders (who worked with me) were paid off.  This is the last one & dropping off my credit report in November.
I feel NO REMORSE for blowing their ears out!  EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT!!!!
