The number is legit but a scammer left it - I called Amex from # on back of card and they had no record of contacting me (but confirmed the # left is in their fraud dept.)

This was American Express and my card information had been stolen and used on the internet.  I'm thankful that they caught this!  AMEX really did a great job!

I did not call back on this number, I called the number on the back of my card!

Keeps calling my cell number and leaving an automated message to hit 1 for yes, 2 for no.  I have never owned an Amex Card. Total Fraud.

The call claimed to be from American Express, which I don't have. The robo-caller wanted to talk to someone who wasn't me.

i received this on my cell phone.   funny thing is,  i never had  an american express card.

I was concerned about this number so I checked my account. There was an authorized charge that they refused. I would not call back and give any information over the phone.  Right thing, carried out terribly.

I called the number at the back of the card 888 258 3741 and confirmed that 800 824 9289 is a legit AmExp number.

PHISHING IDENTITY THEFT SCAM!! THEY ASK YOU TO “PUT IN YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO VERIFY WHO YOU ARE” Nobody legitimate will ask you this.

Called our office this AM - but did not make a selection from our IVR. When we picked up, no one was there. I am assuming it was a scam call. Caller ID listed the number and "AmericanExpress"

Received a call from this number and an email from "AMEX" at the same time saying my card had been charged and did I recognize the charge. It actually resembles a real fraud alert email BUT IT IS NOT!!! The American Express email "address" is spoofed ... and the robocall which wants you to call and give account info is ALSO SPOOFED!!! DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER .... DO NOT RESPOND TO THE EMAILS ... IF you have any questions about your account, call the phone number actually listed on the back of your own credit card. THAT number is legit. I did, they told me this was all a PHISHING expedition to get your account info. SCAM!!!!!!

An Indian asks my last name and my last 4 ss # and give me some name. it's definitely a scam. Before they called me and the same #
