- Lisa JI got the following text alert today..."Amex Fraud Free Msg: Did you just try to use Card ending in 51001 at HAMMER DIESEL? 1 if yes, 2 to call Amex. Text STOP to opt out. 18008249289." After reading some of the comments, I thought it was just spam or a fraudulent text, but I went into my Amex App to make sure there were no fraudulent charges. Sure enough, I got an immediate notice that someone had swiped my card at a gas station. And the app directed to me to call Amex, if it was a fraudulent charge, at the same number in the text. So it IS legit!! They asked me for my four-digit pin, but I would not give it to them, just in case, so they found another way to verify my identity, cancelled my card, and are sending me a new one overnight. : )

After speaking to this number, I called AMEX directly and they refuted the alleged charges!!
These are well organized scammers! - JoeMy card was charged and I got a call from them
- SeaArtistI believe it is fraud - but a rather well-orchestrated one. Their email looked convincing and the voice message they left seemed equally convincing. I call my AmEx customer service (number on my card) and they told me all the info these people told me was bogus. So glad I did not respond to either the voicemail nor the email.

- Ed| 1 replyI got a text message about a fraud charge. I called the number on the card vs. this number. It was a legitimate fraud charge. AMEX declined the charge, put a hold on my card and mailed me a new one.
