    Sir Bedevere replies to Julie
Thanks for posting this Julie. This tells us that the criminals behind these scams are now spoofing legitimate IRS phone numbers in their Caller ID. It's scary but it's also important that people know it's happening.

Hello this is office Jeff rom the IRS and the IRS has filed a suit against you.  We can take your payment over the phone by credit car or if you prefer give us your bank and routing number.  Said to him heard of this call but never actually got one!  Wow scamming innocent people.  He said google the number and you will see it is the IRS.  Yes it is the official number but these scammers have been able to figure out how to do this.  When I called him out on it he called me names and cursed at me.  Well there you go confirmed.  IRS will never call, they will only send letters.

I just got a call from this number to tell me  that I am supposedly being sued by the IRS.  I could hardly understand him - clearly the call was from another country from the way he spoke.  I told him it was a BS bogus call and that if the IRS was suing me then they would send a letter in the mail so send me a letter and hung up.

long delay and then a man asked to speak with me by name. There was a lot of noise in the background. I asked twice for his name ("Officer Harris") and then asked for his badge number. He stuttered for a moment and then the line was disconnected.

Two calls now in two days at same time frame 24 hours apart. I followed up with IRS on same number.  Somehow the bogus caller is able to show the call originating from the IRS help line. I just blocked them from future calls.

This person asked for my husband, and when I asked him how I could help him, he wanted to know my bra size. I said I thought you wanted to talk to Robert, and he said he did not want to talk to Robert any longer. I asked him where he was calling from, and he said the bedroom. I told him not to call my number again or I would call the police.

Got a call from the same number 4x today. Asking for "Foster Jones" -- I have received a number of calls asking for "Foster Jones" - and the Indian speaking man said he was with the IRS. It's a real IRS number, but the person is not with the IRS. I told him he was full of #?&* and then blocked the number.

Yep - I've received these too about taking me to court. Today, I heard the full room which I have not heard before, but it is always a person with an Indian accent -- mostly male, but females also.

I just got a call from the IRS criminal investigation dept. Apparently we owe $3864 in back taxes from tax years 2013, 2014 and 2015.  I am being criminally charged with 4 counts of criminal activity from the IRS.  These 4 counts are punishable by detainment for up to 72 hours, plus back taxes, plus a fine of 15% of what we owe in back taxes. I told William Black, the agent to whom I was speaking with that he was, "full of [***]" and hung up on him. He called back and added a 5th charge because I used foul language toward a federal employee on a recorded phone call.  I hung up on the gentleman that called me 7 times. I took all the information I received from him and turned it in to the detectives at the local PD.

Just received a call from 1-800-829-4933 which based on internet search is the number for IRS tax help.  However, it is telling me that there is a legal warrant filed on my name and identify because of the tax fraud and tax of Asian with the internal revenue service you and your family is under federal investigation.  It was a recorded robotic female voice stating that they tried to notify me by sending documents to my mailing address (NOT TRUE) and it has not been responded yet so it has been considered as an intentional fraud and a lawsuit has been filed by the US government you may call our department on 646-350-6068 if you like to discuss the matter with one of our officers before the cases downloaded in the courthouse, thank you.
I just called the number and it says 'welcome to the IRS tax help line' and to leave a message after the beep.
