This is supposedly the IRS telling small businesses that  their appeal has been turned down and to contact them.

i received a email with this number on it, telling me my small business appeal has been turned down, my norton virus protection was going crazy on this one, be carefull, i am in canada and have nothing to do with the irs,

Didn't get a phone call but got this email... I don't have  business.

The phone number is legitimate. It's the number for tax help and questions for Small Business. Found that at the irs.gov site. The email, though, is bogus since the given link  to resubmit an appeal is a phishing scam and not provided by the IRS.

Rec'd the same email and I'm not running a small business. I'm wondering if the download attached to the email contains a virus. The email was kicked into my spam folder.

Got a phone call from this number- the number is legitimate but appears that someone was using the number. They were foreign accents and told me that because of my tone (i had no idea what was going on) and that I had no intention of paying. They said an officer would contact me in the next 30 minutes..which they haven't. The IRS would not contact you by phone or take this kind of tone with you.

I just  got a call from this number too. I have never got a problem with the irs. Person has a foreing accent. i asked for his supervisor. They hang up, and called back . Currentl,ly waiting for over 30 minutes trying to clarify this, but i will be visiting the IRS office tomorrow.  What to do?/ anyone help!!!

Just got the call on my cell - had my name correct, and said something about my immigration status - which is a little strange because I was born in the US and visited but never resided outside the US. I hung up. I assume they are spoofing the IRS caller Id and it's just a scam.

I got a call yesterday from 2064191732 asking for immigration enquiry. Line got cut and when I called back no response. Today I got a call from 8008294933 saying that they want to talk to my son. They disconnected when I asked why?

Yes,this is a valid phone number for the IRS but now scammers can make it look like any number they want to call from with called ID.
The IRS will never call you (at least very unlikely) or threaten you to pay up or they will arrest you,confiscate your children,etc

It's a scam.Don't give them any personal info

I just received the same tax evasion email as well.

seems to be a scam to me, but the email included a word.doc, but I refuse to open it.

Yeah I have been getting emails from that and it saying that there was a complaint against my company just open the document provided and you will understand. Being in Canada and not ever working in the US, I didn't even think of it.

Just received the same email as well.  Even though it's a legitimate phone number, the email is so elementary that you know it wouldn't come from the IRS like that.  Single spaced, no signature line, poorly written sentence structure, etc

Yes got the same as you people are mentioning and yes flagged as spam by yahoo and they are emailing a computer store. Been in this 30 years, think I'm going to track them personally, its all to get your info. This time they have gotten more than they can handle, I know exactly how to shut these guys DOWN!
