- ApullCaller said she was calling from Verizon, and claimed I had over paid my bill and wanted my pin number on the account to send me the credit. I told her to just credit my account, she said the pin was needed to process the credit. As soon as I questioned the validity of her being from Verizon she hung. I phoned Verizon. They verified this call was NOT from them. The number is defiantly not calling from Verizon. IT IS A SCAM to get your pin number to get into your Verizon account.
- Caller: Claimed to be from Verizon
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- CshaThis is not Verizon. They are spoofing their number to look like they are calling for Verizon. Do not give them your pin or verify your mailing address or anything. They are trying to get your account info. If they call, block their number. They will continue to call even after you confront them about being scammers!!!
- Caller: Fake Verizon

- JakeGot a call from this number claiming to be Verizon saying that I had a $39.00 overpayment and asked if I would like this credit to be sent in a check or put on the next bill as a credit. Saying I would just like a bill credit, the man (Indian) next asked for my account pin. Suspicious, I hung up and dialed Verizon directly and the man I spoke to said that Verizon would NEVER ask for your account pin on an outgoing call. Scammers!

- jkvds| 1 replyJust received a call from these folks as well. Unfortunately, I said "yes" a question, which I fear will be used as some sort of confirmation for a service or purchase that I do not want. Anywhere to register this other than this site?
- Call type: Event reminder
- B-Edwards replies to jkvdsYou are right to be careful - but no one needs to lose too much sleep over the "Yes Scam". This is unproven even a year after the warnings were hitting the main stream media. The truth is much scarier. The opening play by Robo Callers is usually a Yes/No question. By saying Yes, you establish to the interactive Bot that you are not an answering machine. That is vital info and huge step forward to a scammer who wants to make a sale with minimum involvement by a trained sales staff.
The Bots are getting pretty good, and the voice quality fools a lot of people. The Bots are getting "smarter" too, and can actually mimic simple interactions as well as Yes/No questions. The Bots that work the Woman’s Cancer Fund Hotline Scam (also known as the United Breast Cancer Scam) are able to call, vet you, and get a pledge for a set amount, then send you a reminder in the mail. The scam can run itself so long as the phone bill gets paid and someone can make deposits.
If you ask some Bots if they are a Robot, you, the call will be disconnected. But there are Bots who will answer "No one has ever asked me that before" with a giggle. But ask twice, and you will be cut off. Bots also will disconnect if you use bad language, but cursing out a Bot isn't much fun anyway. I always try to get to that Live Person if I am in the mood to dish them a ration.
Here is a link to some info about making reports: https://800notes.com/arts/where-to-report-phone-crime - RachaelThey claim to be verizon, but they always ask me for a pin number or today they said they owed me money? They always sound like they are from another country when and I can never understand them. I thought about just calling Verizon Customer Service myself just to see if this was legit.
- Caller: Verizon.
- FredJust called.
Caller ID: Verizon FioS.
My wife answered even though I've told her time after time not to believe the Caller ID. She said it was about my email and claimed she didn't give then any thing. We'll see.- Caller: Verizon FioS.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Ann NoidWithin the space of 15 minutes I had one 'Out of Area' call with no number, a Verizon automated robo survey (that I did not pick up), and this call which was ID's as "800 Service". No message didn't pick it up either.
We need to just be smarter than the twits who think they can scam us. Not picking up and not being aggravated by them makes us winners in the long run.- Caller: 800 Service false Verizon spam

- AmandaI had a missed FaceTimeAudio call from this number.
- AlieThis number just called me and a man told me that he was from Verizon and they had a security flag come up because my address was changed to an address in another state and the change wasn't made from a recognized device. He said he was going to "send me" a temporary code to be able to log in. He had me read the code that came though the Verizon text message, but was instant that I not enter the code on the website, which made no sense if I was needing to change my password. He then asked for me to verify that last 4 digits of my social, which Verizon does not ask for because I have a security PIN set up with them. I told him that I would not read my social over the phone, even the last 4 and asked why he would not have access to my PIN if he worked for Verizon. He hung up and I immediately got a text saying that my password had been changed. So, I called the real Verizon and they changed my password, my PIN and noted my account. They did say that no changes had been made and nothing had been ordered, probably because I called right away.
