- BellBookCandle| 1 replyWe been getting calls from these Vultures for over 2 years non stop. I made the mistake of calling back to let them know I do not owe anything. I know this for sure because we check out credit often.
They were rude and tried to be intimidating and would not give up. Finally I just hung up. Now they are sending me green post cards telling me I won something with this phone number 800-852-0411 and the senders name Argon but not Argon Collections. I send the cards back marked "Return to Sender Deceased". It has slowed down a little but we still get calls and mail from them.
How do we stop these Vultures from picking our bones?- Caller: Unknown
- Purr Machine replies to BellBookCandleHi out there. The last post is right. They are sending a green post card indicating that you won something and to call the number. When you look up the number it's Aargon Collection Agency. They are addressed to the our name but we have no debt and our credit report is clean.
After a few months of the green post cards we also get a letter telling us there was an important matter about a family member and to call this number. Same number that is on the green post card. Now it gets better. Just last week we get a bill for $19.93 for a medical facility in North Dakota. We live in PA and never been west.
We will also start sending them back marked deceased. If we all do that maybe they will get bogged down with return mail.
They also have been calling us for several months but it's always a robot call - Many NamesAAI

- MARINAI've been making payments of $25 to AArgon since last year for Cashland-Cash America Primes. Jacob said it would be thru August of this year.
I'm waiting to see if they try to take more since I just got a statement from them saying I've only paid $25 and still owe $320.78!
It should be paid in full now!- Caller: AArgon Collection Agency

- Melissa| 1 replyMy daughter got a call from this number about a bill that she does owe but I'm skeptical about collection agencies anyway so i looked it up. I'm so glad I found this information. I am going to be paying the bill for her and I don't want to give my account info to these people. I think I'll contact the original company and pay them directly.
Thank you all for your posts, it may have saved me from having my bank account emptied by a scam.- Caller: I Don't Know

- unknownnow since i think about it, i think it is a scam and they are getting our information from somewhere and thereby trying to get money from us and our actual debtors will probably never see a penny of it and we will still be in debt in there eyes.

- SCAMMERS!This Co. is a SCAM! Do not pay them any money. They call and misrepresent themselves as the IRS, Attornys and Law Enforcement in which they are not. They report old, out of stat accounts onto your credit report which is illegal. You can file a complaint with the FCRA. They also claim to be a member of the ACA but I spoke w the ACA and they said that it sounds like they are violating their member code of conduct and to file a report immediately. You can file the complaint at http://www.acainternational.org/ Under the compliance section there is an ethics/code of conduct section you click on and that will route you to the page that has the link for the complaint. I would also suggest filing a complaint at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at 1-855-411-2372 and the FTC at (202) 326-2222. These people are a scam and need to be shut down. Do NOT, absolutely do NOT give them any information over the phone and dispute any bills you have w them in writing. If they can not validate the debt, you DO NOT owe it and they must remove the tradeline off your credit report. Also if you feel like they violate the FDCPA, they are liable for $1,000 per occurence. Call an attorney and file a lawsuit. It costs you nothing.

- James BrownDon't let Aargon Agency get away with harassing you with constant phone calls and abusive behavior about a delinquent debt. By doing this, they are violating your laws under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and you may be able to turn the tables on them to sue them for the distress they've caused you without paying anything upfront to hire an attorney! Read my blog (link below) for more information on these lower than low debt collectors.

- Anon-Y-MouseThey called me today, their only message was something like "this is.... (insert name here, foreign name that I could not understand) at extension 333"
Yup, they didn't even list their actual phone number just their extension.- Caller: Unknown, caller didn't state name of company
- Anon-Y-MouseJoey Magonya (not sure how that would be spelled but I relistened to their message and it simply stated, "this is Joey Mogonya at extension 333"
Just thought I'd add that to my post above but since I'm not a member I can't edit the post. - A. GatesWouldn't verify who they represent. Then terminated call when I asked a direct question- "who do you represent?"

- GateKeeperThis jerks called today asking for a shipping employee. Said employee doesn't have a phone line, and has routinely been the victim of non-existent debt collecting bullies.
The guy, while stalling and not answering and refusing to identify himself gave me more than enough time to google the number, to which, i told him, "This is a place of business, and she cannot have personal calls."
He. Lost. His. Stuff.
Started screaming...like SCREAMING for my manager (I head up a department, I don't HAVE a manager) And that "[I] just assumed who {he} was without knowing...." I reminded him that I repeatedly asked who he was, which company he was representing, and the nature of his call, and he refused to ID any of that.
I hung up on him mid-screech.
With 75 complaints, they have an A- with the BBB (which we all know, and is CLEARLY evidenced here) can be bought.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that they are bullies.
Remember -
-Private Companies cannot issue arrest warrants.
Only those in the judicial system can issue warrants. They need to be petitioned by attorneys, and signed off by a judge.
-Debt is civil. not criminal. You cannot be arrested for ordinary debt in the United States and Canada. There are no debtors prisons here.
-If there were an arrest warrant with your name on it, your local courthouse would have it. Look up the number independently, and call them. People have been taking this advice for a long time. And guess what? No one has had a warrant issued. :)
-IF THERE WERE, however, no one will EVER call you to tell you they are coming to arrest you, or serve you papers. Process servers only get paid if they deliver your paperwork, and if you hide, they won't get paid, so, they won't tell you they're coming.
-ALSO, if there were "criminal" or "financial" proceedings against you, it's too late to pay anyone. The deed has been been done. The proverbial wheels are in motion.
-Money sent by 'untraceable means' (cash cards, western union) is money that cannot be traced. I know that sounds obvious, but by the time you figure out you've been scammed, you have no way to figure out who collected that money. It's gone forever. You can't dispute it.
-Threats of arrest, losing your drivers license, putting holds on SSN's, demanding attorney contact information and other things like that are common scare tactics used by "debt collectors" who are trying to collect on a debt they cannot legally collect on. If they COULD legally collect on the debt, they wouldn't have to resort to scare tactics.
And perhaps most importantly -
-REAL debt collectors will send you (because they are required to, by law) a 'DEBT VALIDATION'. This is sent through the mail (USPS) with a stamp on it (e-mail, fax, texts, carrier pigeon, smoke signals...none of those count) and tell you when you incurred the debt, to whom you owe the original debt, and how to proceed if you don't think you owe the amount, or if your records reflect a different amount. Remember, this is REQUIRED BY LAW to be sent to you within 5 days from initial contact (on the company behalf) DEMAND THEY SEND YOU THIS!!! This will immediately weed out the scammers.
