This number has called us before saying they were collecting for Comcast.  I gave my boss the message and phone number to call back, but never heard anything else.  Comcast generally does their own collection calls - and we still have service, sooooo....not sure if it was legit or not.  They have called twice this week...no one responds to my greeting.

They keep calling me informing me that my Comcast service is set for disruption if I do not pay my bill immediately.  My bill is current every month and is not due for another 10 days.  This is the second time they have called this week.

Got several calls this week from this same number - no one usually responds to my greeting.  Today, it actually clicked over and some guy named Ryan Kirkpatrick wanted to (once again) inform us that our Comcast Business account is in peril of being shut off and is over due.  I began to question "Ryan", asking why we have not received a past due bill and why Comcast is not calling us directly.  He asked "what does that have to do with anything?".  I responded that when I look up their company name and phone number, all I get is scam information.  He paused and said "well...that's just because those people are bitter because they are in collections and I haven't asked you for any information, but if you are uncomfortable calling us back, here is the Comcast number 800-391-3000".  He had our company name right, but my boss would be listed as the person holding the account, and he didn't ask for him directly, and I didn't give him that info either.  Going to check on the other phone number and see if it really belongs to Comcast.  If not, I will find a valid number to have my boss call.  They also told me they have been calling on past due accounts for Comcast for 3 years.  Not buying it.

I received 4 calls from this number today and answered only the last call.  They asked if I was the business owner.  Before I answered his question, I asked who he was as he did not identify himself.  He refused and asked again if I was the business owner.  I told him I was going to hang up unless he identified himself (since HE called ME!).  I counted out loud: 5-4-3-2-1.. and I hung up.   Shady!

First call was from this number with FOCUS FINANCIAL as the caller ID : I didn't answer & they didn't leave a voicemail. (I don't answer calls if I don't know the party). Within one minute, another call came in from this same toll free number without a name: they called me a total of 8 TIMES today! No voicemails! I WILL NOT be answering as I have no overdue debts & because of all of the reviews I've read. Thank you EVERYONE for the insight😊

They certainly are not going to stop calling until you give them an incentive to stop.  You can take the following advice and stop the calls or you can put up with them.  Your choice.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
    http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

I have gotten a LOT of calls from this number and had read the comments so decided I'd have some fun with the bottom feeders.

It's NOT bottom feeder collections. It's Comcast Business collections. Not sure why they were calling my cell phone, but they were calling about the account at my job which, as it turns out, had been paid earlier today.
