One of the the GREAT THINGS about 800 #'s of all sorts (866-888 and so on) is that SOMEONE pays for them.  So EACH TIME you call that number, there is a charge that is registered to a company / corporate account, and these charges end up on a telephone bill kinda that same as you and I get at the end of the month or quarter.  That means that SOMEONE is having to pay for them.

 Now can you imagine if everyone who got one of these calls, posted this number someone where hundreds or even THOUSANDS of people would call it.

 I bet that would make a large bill for that telemarketer company and MAYBE they would get the hint that it is not cost effective to call people and harass them when they don't even have the right number.

Keeps calling asking for my mother, i finally saved the number in my phone under "[***] OFF."

They have been calling me for two days now. Both times it has been Arab people giving American names like "Andy Wilson". They left messages on my voicemail since I do not answer my phone when I am in class unless it is 1 of 2 numbers.

This number 800-862-4187 calls quite often.  I have repeatedly told them they have to legally take my number off their list, and they tell me they don't have to and then continue to ask for a person I have never heard of.  What can be done?  Does anyone have an address for this company?  It says Bearit Credit Service on my phone as the ID name.

I have received calls from this number, the first call was looking for a female who I do not know, the second call a few months later looking for a male who I do not know.  They can call forever and I will never answer the phone.  Thank goodness for caller ID.

Received call just now. Did reverse search and called back. They asked for a ROY. Wrong number apparently. I said that this company has been reported as a SCAM company and that it has been reported to the Better Business Bureau. He said, "This ain't a scam. We Bay Area Credit Services and we legit." I said, "Since you do not know how to speak English appropriately and since you didn't ask for my name first or any identifying information, this must be a scam, but have a nice day."

I recirved a call from 800-862-4187 a computer asking for me by name so I pushed 1 a few minuets later some lady came on the phone asking if I was this person I said yes then they put me on hold. If the dumb f#@$ want to talk to me my then don't put me on hold

This is Bay Area Credit Services.  They called trying to collect on Bill for someone who has been deceased for nearly 2 years.  (One would think they could have figured that out by now.)  It was left on a voice mail and the person said her name was Jane Roberts.  I returned the call to explain they had a wrong number and to tell them the person has passed and I got the rudest most obnoxious representative - claimed to be Jane Roberts but the voices was no where close to that of the one on the voice mail. She refused to hear anything I had to say and kept talking over anything I would say.  I finally hung up in disgust.  Rude, obnoxious and foul = Bay Area Credit Services.

this people called my cell everyday now. Its been about 5 days now... good thing I never pick up 800 called and check out at google and found good advice. I don't have debt so will never pick up this people called. Best advice is never pick up phone call, if you dont know who called.

I've recieved a phone call from this number several times the past week.  Everytime i answer and nobody is on the other line.. Quit freakin calling me!!!!! just now they called and it is 848PM and my whole family is already in bed going to sleep... I HAD A HARD TIME GETTING MY KIDS TO GO TO BED TO BEGIN WITH!! One way to get back at these people that wont stop calling you is to post their 800 phone number all over the Internet at places that will call them back or fill out a form at one of those Internet scam sites using their phone number & name if you have it or even any name. Even though the call is free to you, they will still have to pay for all the calls but at a discount.

Caller keeps calling and a recorded message asks for "Sean B., Short", if you are not "Sean B. Short", please hang up. Several calls over the past few months.  No way to access a live person to request the calls to stop.

I CANNOT believe the nerve of these cretins!  They call the wrong number, which they KNOW is the wrong number because I've told them 112 million times it is the wrong number, and they play a recording that orders ME to hang up if I am not the WRONG PERSON at the WRONG NUMBER they knowingly called! It really is hilarious, or would be if it weren't so annoying!

I get call from this number 1-800-862-4187 all the time but I let the answer machine pick. They have never left a message but they do call 4 to 5 times a day. who is this?

Got a call from this collection company about an ambulance bill from march 2006. they wanted $845, but if paid now by credit card it would be $700? Told them no and the matter was handled by our insurance. I was able to contact the ambulance company and they said that they sent a bill to collections 6-06. Further, they did not have an address for my wife from the accident. the ambulance company said to request an invoice from "Bay area credit service". I called them back and was told that since it was an old claim my insurance would not pay?
   The ambulance company said it had no record of our address (our other medical bill were paid by our insurance. The original bill was 645.00 at the time of the accident 3-2006. now 1-2010 were contacted by a bill collection agency and threatened. I will turn this over to the insurance company. The tactic of this bill collection company "Bay Area credit agency" is that of a lone shark!

This # calls every few days & asked for a person who never lived at my address nor have access to my tel#. I am on national registry of do not call list and do not know how this idiot firm got my tel.#. It is very annoying to have to let the answering machine take the message - then delete it. I will never call that # back.

these people keep trying to contact me as well about a debt I already paid.  The incompetent accounting system for a service I used didn't update my address as requested and just turned the a/c over to a collection agency when they couldn't find me (their fault).  I paid what was owed,after getting in touch with them to find out why I didn't get an invoice but by that time it was too late.  The debt collection agency sold a bunch of old accounts to this company and they think they have the right to hound people about debts even if they are paid.  Do not answer the phone - do not call back.  They never leave a message, they just hope someone is dumb enough to pick up the call.  Never answer a toll free call, let them leave a msg, which they will do if it is a legitimite business call.
