I have caller id and when I got home I noticed there were 5 calls from this 800 number 1-800-900-1370 so I called them back and asked them why they called me. They said Penn Credit and were looking for Stacey. I said I don't have a clue who she is, I'm not Stacey. They said they would take my number off their list. So at 1:25pm they called me again. And asked for Stacey. I went through it again. I don't know her and don't have a clue who she is. They said they would take my number off the list. I said well, the other one that called me didn't. Then at 3:55pm same thing.  I have the times on my caller id and I know the times they called. Penn Credit has to be debt collector.

Received a call today from 800-900-1370 even though I am on the do not call list.  This caller left no message so I do not know who it is or why they were calling.  How do these people get away with this stuff?

Have been getting calls from this number daily, which I never pick up. I've  placed my answering machine on pick up after two rings and let them call all they want. I don't know who it is and don't care. The do not call hot registry does not help...

The DNC only protects from the honest business's.  And its for telemarketers, charity's, Political and some survey's are exempt.  Most of the honest ones will remove you and put you on a internal DNC when asked. Otherwise, you need to contact the Political Parties directly and tell them DNC and they will remove you, and you can sign up for the political DNC (this works pretty well really)  http://stoppoliticalcalls.org/index.php  Then when one does call, you simply go directly to their web site (most have them) and email them a DNC letter, I included the url for the political DNC for the one I have had over the last 12 years or so and told him to use it! :)

So that only leaves the illegal Telemarketers, scammers, extortion scammers, fake Windows support scam and frauds.. and those people do not obey laws period!  Some of those are in foreign country's and thats a whole new puddle of red tape, but it does happen that they get caught.. And the scammers caught in the US get the go to jail card and heavy fines on the illegal telemarketers.

File complaints accordingly to the type of call you get:

Fedup about says it all!  This company has called my house on a daily basis, leaving a prerecorded message for over a month now!  I finally called back to tell them to stop calling me because I have NEVER heard of the person they are calling for and talk about bitchittude!  The unprofessional CSR told me to calm myself because I told her if they call here again, I am reporting them!  She is lucky you can't knock stupid out of someone through the phone!  I am not waiting for them to call again, I am filing a complaint now!

I hate to discourage you, but the gov do not call list is no longer protecting anyone.  "they" have infiltrated it, and call anyway.  I've isted my personal and cell numbers, and once a year I renew them on that list.  Still I get calls and calls and calls.  If you have an answering system and it picks up the call, that simply tells them that your number is a valid number....and they keep it in the system.  period.

The problem with this theory is that once you validate your phone number, they'll sell it.  and then you end up on someone else's list(s).  And you'll still get the calls, since you'll have to spend a lot of money trying to getyour $400.  We need more regulations around this stuff.  nothing is protecting us from getting the calls in the first place....nothing.

You can file a complaint about them here: https://help.consumerfinance.gov/app/debtcollection/ask#currentPage=0. It's not like the Do Not Call registry -- they have to respond.

We have been getting calls from this number for quite some time.  I'm glad a friend gave me this website!  I have called the number back, but the VERY RUDE lady said she needed my name.  When I wouldn't give it to her, she said "Well, why'd you call then?"  I told her I wanted to know who it was.  Another time, I did get the message about personal business matter and "press 1" for an important message.  I'm at my wits end with this, as we DO NOT owe anything!

This number has begun to call me multiple times in the past few days. I am on the National do not call registry and also the state. I pay $4.00 per month for a non-published, private number and never answer to any number I do not know. My landline telephone company representative gave me that advice years ago and also told me to never call back a number I do not know, because there are scammers who will trace a call and say you bothered them. She told me that if it were an emergency, someone would leave a message. I have also received  voicemail from another number for someone in the state of Virginia who is not even near, and girl has left a specific file number. At first I thought it was a wrong number.  Not only is this party harassing me, but is violating someone's privacy, even if that person might have an outstanding debt. I am wondering what type of illicit computer program they are using when it shows as ' Unknown" on my called ID, since I have anonymous call rejection as part of my telephone service. These are stupid scammers as they are calling another state for someone in Virginia and giving me the person's name, address and that they will be receiving a "summons" at that address in a recording. I am reporting to the FCC and as senior abuse and harassment as I have been quite ill. There are attorneys at senior centers all over the nation who will contact the appropriate authorities. I refuse to call the 800 number for them to learn my name.

I have been getting these calls for over a month for someone I don't know:  I cannot tell them this as this is a recorded call and I won't call them because I am afraid it is one of these scams where they use your phone to call all around the world while they have you on the line. I just want these calls to stop as they are so annoying and how did they get my number and associate it with someone else??  I registered the number with the Don't Call Registry so now I guess I will have to call my phone company and get them to block the number which I will have to pay for!

I don't think so, plus nothing stay's on your credit report more then 7yrs. Anyways, they said we are trying to collect on a debt that is very very old, really??? How unprofessional, so whom ever this company is... You need to get people trying to steal money and idenities more knowledgable about what you are trying to do, DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFO!
