- FahadThey have been calling me for more than 3 months, they know my last name :( but not my first name. Actually, they said my brother's name, and the same thing happened, when I asked them what you want from my brother, they told: "we can't tell you, it the federal law"!!. Surprisingly, my brother have not been in the states, ever!

We are doing our best to pay what we owe. We feel we should do the right thing, but these calls are relentless.

- cbTXTwice the month of Novermber 2009 I received recording from Penn Credit Corporation collection's, Barbara Johnson. The number is restricted as private. And the recording cuts off before a number is left. I am positive it is a scam for money, identification and anything theives can steel without having to work for a living. I will join a suit to press charges against this crime sydicate if the talented abled persons and authorities are able to properly identify the nincompoops for their nincompoopery (footnote 1. Websters's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary page 799).

- Joanne Howard| 1 replySpoke to a guy. He would give no information when I asked that he not call. He stated he would call whenever he wanted to.
- jamaica markymark replies to Joanne HowardI live in Jamaica, and they called me on my international number. I called them back but didn't get charged on my pre-paid phone. what a PITA
- Amanda replies to J.Brackett| 2 repliesThey are a legitimate collection agency, which I worked for, for 2 years. They reason they aren't required to stop calling is because the bill you owe is due. As far as the name barbara johnson...when you work for a collection agency you are required to set up a false name for the collectors, and their protection. The company is on 14th st in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- kmillerI have received two calls from an "unknown id" and ignored it. Each time a message was then left, and I listend to the whole message the second time. It was an automated message that asked for a bastardized version of my name, and if this was not that person then to call 1 800 720 7281 to be taken off the list, if i was this person to continue listening. It went on to say it was from "Barbra Johnson" from Penn Credit Corporation regarding a debt collection and to call her back at 800 900 1372.
Informed the state attorney general. Never answer an unknown number, and do not call the numbers given if you recieve a message like this.- Caller: penn credit corporation

- ConfusedI have been receiving calls from Penn Credit and initially they stated my name and to call them back. One time I did and whatever action I chose made them stop calling me. Now they are calling again stating this is an attempt to collect a debt, leaving a dollar amount, and giving me options on making my payment. REALLY? I work in the collections industry and it is illegal to state anything more than the company you are calling from, your name, and the phone number. Like I'm going to just give someone $100 for a debt I have no idea about??!! How do you make them stop calling you. I just tried to call the number they stated to call and it was a fast busy. I wonder if they only turn it on during the week? Crazy azz scammers. And how in the world did they get my cell???
- Caller: Penn Credit Collections
- Confused--more so now. replies to AmandaI have been working in collections for 10 years and it is ILLEGAL to provide a false name. You can provide a first name and id # or such but are not required to provide your last name. And if you are with a 3rd party collection agency you also use other tactics that are inappropriate. Here is a link I found--http://www.penncredit.com/triangle.htm
check it out. It says debtors have 24 hours access, that is crap, i just called and got a fast busy. I also called during the week and was on hold so long I had to disconnect the call. Very sketchy. And I don't have anything unpaid that would go to collections so why do I keep getting these calls and wasting my minutes? - Confused replies to LJMThanks for the info. I will definitely be doing what you have suggested.
